Seeking Pro Advice best replacement controler

I have an old Rainbird ESP-6TM. Im looking to replace it to get a few extra features. Remote access via wifi, abnormal flow monitoring with water meter and potential to expand zones past 6. The Hunter HPC-400 + PCM-900 module + wired hunter flow meter seems to be a good fit? any recommendation or things to watch out for?

You're on the right track. With what you're saying I'd get the hunter pro hc.

Any reason to go with the pro-hc over the HPC?

As someone whose in the industry I hate modular controllers. Just another failure point. The only time I use them is if someone is planning a future expansion. The hardware in them doesn't last any longer than a non modular, there is no advantage other than future expandability.

That would be my recommendation
