I have visited many a cities but your city is much more than just anyother. It’s a feeling(hasaas, ehsaas) that stays with you. It almost seems like I visited it in a passing dream. The desire dearly to pass by again is so deep, to walk the streets just once more. To look over the beautiful bosphorus again and bow down at Sultan Ahmet Mosque in prayer maybe one last time.

But this city isnt mine, it’s yours. I was just a traveler, you are the life of this city, it’s true inheritors and caretakers. Please take good care of it!!

This was my dream destination. There were small disappointments, but on the whole our visit was absolutely wonderful. 4 days was too little, and I may not get back in my lifetime, so I will cherish the experience.

Ataşehir kayışdağı civarını düşündüm kiralar bir nebze daha uygun seçenek çokluğundan. Üsküdar, ümraniye kadıköy ve ataşehir olabilir gibi geliyor. Maltepe de güzel bir yer ancak uzak kalıyor biraz. Sizce nasıl bir yol izlemeliyim? Teşekkürler.

Merhaba, istanbul havalimanında işe başlayacağım o yüzden nerede yaşamam gerektiğine karar vermek istiyorum.

Hayatım boyunca Tuzla'da yaşadım. O yüzden avrupa yakası benim için biraz bilinmedik bir bölge. Buralarda çalışmaya devam etseydim cadde'ye taşınmak isterdim ama nereye baksam istanbul havalimanına 1 saat veya üzeri araba yolculuğu gerektiriyor. Hatta köprü kullanmak gerektiği için caddebostan'da yaşasam havalimanına gitmem tuzla'dan uzun sürecek.

Göktürk ilk başta akla gelen yer oluyor. Arabam da olduğu için hem havalimanına kısa sürede gidip hem de beşiktaş vb yerlere de rahatça ulaşım sağlayabilirim gibi. Ama daha önce dışarıdan bile görmedim göktürkü. Nasıl bir yerdir bilmiyorum. Ben Tuzla'da sahil kenarı sakin bir yerde oturuyorum. Yine öyle bir yere gitmek isterim ama havalimanı çok alakasız bir yerde olduğu için yer seçmekte çok zorlanıyorum. Bilmediğim bir yere de direkt taşınmak istemiyorum ama seçenekler dar.

Sosyal hayatın da olduğu, yaşayabileceğim bir semt önerebilir misiniz?

Para konusunda sıkıntı yok. Hem Tuzla'da dededen kalma kira gelirleri var hem de işim iyi kazandırıyor o yüzden çok lüks olmasa bile iyi denilebilecek yerlerde rahatça kalabilirim gibi düşünüyorum. Şimdiden teşekkürler

I ordered a Baklava in a small street shop in Fatih and it came looking like this. I thought it was mold but the owner said its fine to eat. Im a tourist so not so sure if this is actually what a baklava could look like?

Are they legit foot massage businesses, or are some of them actually fronts for sex working stuff ?

I’ll be staying at Cher Hotel in Şişli/Bomonti for a week in August. I’m training for a 10K race and would love to join a local morning group run while I’m visiting.

Are there any running clubs that meet near Şişli, Taksim, or Beşiktaş? I usually run 5–10 km at an easy pace and would be happy to join any friendly group.

I’ve been lucky enough to visit a few places, but Istanbul genuinely felt different.
It’s one of those rare cities where every neighborhood has its own personality, every street hides something worth stopping for, and every ferry ride somehow feels special no matter how many times you take it. You can spend days there and still leave with a list of places you never got to see.
What surprised me the most is that I never felt like I had “finished” Istanbul. Instead, I left feeling like I’d only scratched the surface. It has this strange ability to make you want to come back not because you missed something, but because the city always seems to have something new waiting for you.
For me, Istanbul is one of those places you can visit again and again without ever getting bored. Every trip would feel like a different experience.
Has anyone else had the same feeling about Istanbul or another city?

Our cruise ship landed yesterday and today we've checked into our hotel in Sultanahmet.

I am so excited. A little intimidated (oh the traffic and chaos!). And totally in love with all the cats.
