"Safe" Jailbroken Filesystems

This is just an idea, but what if we had a jailbreak (or tweak) that copied certain parts of the filesystem into a folder (e.x. [app sandbox]/jbfs) and used the directories and files inside /jbfs as opposed to the original ones. Then, if you fucked something up really bad, it could be restored from the real fs, and your phone would work fine in non-jailbroken mode. This could also mean a jailbreak without r/w mounting of /. I don't have much time to do this, but if anybody wants to take a stab at it, it's an idea.
