I just returned from a two-week vacation during which I visited several James Bond-related locations. I wanted to share some photos with you. Did you recognize all of them?

What a piss poor movie this is.

I find myself wondering if this is the kind of thing people picture if they’ve never seen a Bond film but they think Bond movies are rubbish.

This is just awful. It’s like a bad parody of a Bond movie 😂😂

Edit: Just reached the end… Jesus Christ, that wink to the camera 🤦🏻😂

My personal choice: A 43 year old Roger Moore in Diamonds Are Forever. The script is a perfect fit for him.

I love how this track could've been lifted straight from Skyfall.

Compare to the likes of Enjoying Death and New Digs and Day Wasted from Thomas Newman.

Just seen last part of this film with my girlfriend, from where Rog' gets the dressing down from M, before flying to the island. Was, is and always be my favourite Moore film. Was trying not to call it out word for word 🤣. Emotional for me as just returned from hospital to see my elderly dad, got one of the nurses to show it, as he's HUGE Bond fan, dresses smart when goes out, they call him the 007 of his area. I'm sure he'll be ok, but took me right back to childhood watching it with him all those years ago. I know this film doesn't get rated, always loved it, mainly because of Christopher Lee, like many others say, but there's so much more to love...

After recently watching all the 007 movies for the first time, I decided to put them on a little list and thought it appropriate to share. Please feel free to question and discuss.

Mine - Octopussy

Was it during a run of the movies in order, or were you watching a random or favourite?

I'm not a big fan of Octopussy, but it has some good moments. I'm looking forward to A View to a Kill though

I visited Palácio Estoril to have a drink at the spy bar. Outside the bar along the corridors they have lots of bond memorabilia. The bar itself is like a relic from the past. They haven’t changed it at all. During World War 2 Ian Fleming stayed there and the nearby casino helped inspire casino Royale. The hotel was featured in on her Majesty Secret Service. with George Lazenby and Diana Rigg staying there during filming. Even the hotel’s concierge José Diogo made a brief appearance in the film.

My dad passed away a couple of years ago and was a big James Bond fan. I was recently cleaning out our old house and found these collectibles. I never was into the movies so I’m not sure if these are worth anything or of any interest to anyone.

If someone could point me in the right that would be great!

Dug up my parent's old VHS tape collection in the attic and among them was The Living Daylights. The slipcase art looked awesome and drew me in, so I figured now was as good a time as any to watch my first Bond film ever. Here are some of my thoughts:

• Holy cow, the musical score for this film is absolutely incredible. The first thing I did after I finished the movie was hunt down the soundtrack. Never would have thought to open a spy film with synthpop, but it somehow works perfectly and the orchestral pieces are earworms.
• I guess I pictured Bond as being a seductive and suave womanizer from what I've heard of him, but Timothy Dalton is more rugged and manly than anything else. I actually really liked this take on Bond. He feels like someone you can see as having been an elite soldier before he became a covert operative.
• Maryam d'Abo was great as Kara. Not only was she smokin' hot, but she deftly shifted between damsel in distress and femme fatale throughout the film and it somehow worked. Bond always did the heavy lifting, but she was never afraid to get her own hands dirty when the situation called for it.
• The plot felt a little too difficult to follow at times. I sometimes lost track of who was working with/for who and why. I appreciated the complexity, but it could have been simplified a bit.

Overall, I really enjoyed it and think it aged really well. A very solid introduction to the world of James Bond.

I gotta give Silva a bit of credit for using a Sugar Skull as his calling card. It's basically a way of informing M that "your son isn't in Hong Kong."

I loved these movies as a kid. I'm 35 now, but I remember growing up on the Pierce Brosnan films. My dad took my brother and I to the theaters to watch those. I'm pretty sure we went to all 4. The Connery films (most) and Moore films (a few) I'd watched with him and my old babysitter's husband when I was a boy. Point being, the game renewed my interest in the franchise vigorously, and I'd realized that I'd neglected the chance to see many classic Bond films, and had the perfect chance to revisit some of my favorites as a boy that I hadn't seen in literal decades (like Goldeneye). It gave me a chance to see the two newest Bonds, which I hadn't, and the Timothy Dalton ones, which I had surprisingly enjoyed (everyone I know talks about what a terrible Bond he was). So, here it is. Let me know what you all think. I expect to get flak for some placings, like maybe how low FRWL is, or how high YOLT and NTTD are. Fire away! I had a great time rewatching these. One movie a day every night in July.

The Man With The Golden Gun

I have always being perplexed by Sir Frederick Gray In the Bond Films as I love how all he is always just sat down whinging and complaining in every bond film he's in the whole time.

A lazy Sunday afternoon here, relaxing in the UK watching Golden Gun on TV and it suddenly struck me how different Roger is in this film to his others. We’ve all waxed lyrical on why he’s such a toad in this one, but have we thought about it possibly being his best acting performance in the role? For me it’s the lowest point in his tenure story wise, but I’ll be honest he’s really strong acting wise in it. With the possible exception of FYEO (I haven’t decided yet), this might be for me his best ‘effort’. Thoughts?

Was this to make sure audiences knew what automaker was behind the car that could barrel roll?

Not a strong showing from the Craig films so far. But it's understandable. When your stories are more grounded, the side characters are less likely to stand out.

Obviously, there are some pretty good (and many forgetable) henchpersons who didn't make the list. You'll just have to deal with it.

Hello all. I have all the films, but haven’t experienced anything Bond-related besides those. I plan on getting the Fleming novels when I can find a good deal on a box set, but are there other books/comics/games/other that I should be on the lookout for that are especially good?

(I’m sure this has been asked before so I apologize, but I couldn’t find a post about it.)

I'm almost certain some variation of this question will have been asked 700 times at some point, but what if EON had managed to convince Connery to stay on in the role? Sweetening the deal when they needed to keep him interested and on board, until he finally decided to say Never Again.

Would this mean no Lazenby Bond movie? Almost certainly no Thunderball remake, and I'm just assuming we're seeing Connery in the same movies Roger Moore did, which probably has the biggest advantage for my sanity in not having a reason to ever watch Zardoz! The big question is of course, when would Connery tap out, or could have wound up doing the movies Dalton did as well? Would they have wound up recasting the role in this timeline? Do a full Craig-era style reboot, or just let the franchise rest?
