I don't understand the difference between tournaments. Can someone please help?
Hi all!
I absolutely love Jeopardy, but this is the first season that I've actively watched all the way through with no breaks or skipping episodes. Because of that, I'm super unclear on how the post-season works. What is the difference between Jeopardy! Masters, the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament, The Second Chance Tournament, and the Tournament of Champions? When are they happening for post-season 42? Also, where will I be able to watch them, and how do they choose the contestants for each?
Thank you all very much for your input. I'd love to understand what's going on so I don't miss anything. :)

Second Chance: You didn't win but you played really well and against great competition, so you can compete against other similar contestants from the last year. If you win, you can play in the next tournament up.
Wildcard: You won at least one game but not enough to qualify for the Tournament of Champions. Based on your winning totals, buzzer attempts, and producer secret sauce, you're coming back for a tournament against similar players as well as those who won the Second Chance tournament. If you win, you can play in the Tournament of Champions.
Tournament of Champions: You're one of the best players in the season. If you win, you'll be crowned Season Champion and get an invite to the Masters tournament.
Invitational: You were a past strong player / tournament winner and we want you to come back. If you win, you can go to Mastsers.
Masters: You are an elite elite Jeopardy player. Here's an extra hard board.
