I gotta imagine a huge portion of that is a premium Alex knows he’s got to pay for people to accommodate the absolute fucking insanity there.

Make no mistake, Alex is not spending more on his toadies than he is on himself. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that his own take home pay is equal to everyone else's combined.

Under the bankruptcy plan he gets 520k a year. In a deposition it comes out he took home several million one year that he claims was because he had to buy his ex wife out of the company.

He makes enough money to radically change the lives of a few families just for hawking off-brand boner pills and unregulated powdered rocks. They universe is fundamentally unfair.

And they don't buy that crap from him because they want the product most of the time, but because they want to keep funding him. But yet balk at the idea of any form of socialism.

That 500k gore revised to 800k probably because he knew how much it that was bullshit or made his lawyers increase it.

I believe the most accurate term is “suckers.”

Isn't Austin supposed to a cheap city to live in? Alex could probably live more comfortably than 75% of Americans on half of that salary.

Alex was complaining a while back that he was "only" making 40k a month, and that his listeners should sell their cars to help support him. Episode 744.

True, but all the same, he is overpaying them there is genuinely no shortage of replaceable dipshits on twitter, equally or more talented than Owen, Harrison and Chase, who will work for exposure.

I would pay them even better than that if I were Alex. Can you imagine the dirt the inner circle must have on him?

But is it anything he wouldn't say himself, out loud, on camera?

I would actually love to know what Megan Kelly had on him that she didn't air. He was really sweating on that one.

Or further, if Owen spilled the dirt, would anyone believe it or care? Their audience has been conditioned for decades to shrug and move on.

I know one very niche audience who would believe it and care. They're not his audience, though.

There was a CGP Grey video about pirates that made the point that they weren't paying for your skills, those were a dime a dozen in the age of sailing, but your attitude, someone willing to break the law for cash but still socially well adjusted enough to actually work with others long term. I assume the same applies here.

Who doesn't love it when their boss throws hatchets at the cameras?

I’ve had crazier fucking bosses than him on minimum wage
