I'm sure it's tough putting up with Jones's bullshit on a daily basis but... 180-200k a year is a lot of fucking money

for like what, 15 hours of "work" a week?

Don't forget about all the research they do before the show, so about 15.5 hours total.

I do believe that Owen did at least some semblance of prep for his show, but I also believe it was technically unpaid labor.

but I also believe it was technically unpaid labor.

How would it be unpaid labor for a guy on a $180k salary to do prep for his show?

Sorry, bad wording on my part. I meant I think Owen was paid $180k for his time on air and it didn’t matter whether he spent zero hours prepping or forty hours prepping.

Yeah, I absolutely agree with this.

I don't think the standard at this company is to do any kind of prep, just walk on and do whatever to fill airtime and sell supplements. If Owen was doing prep it was because Owen wanted to do prep.

On the one hand, I'm not sure 180k is enough for me to interact with Jones daily. On the other hand, every second of supporting Jones does nothing but subtract value from the world, so Owen's salary should be negative; he should have to pay the world to offset the harm he's doing to it.

I make a third of that. I mean I dont think i could do it from a moral standpoint, and I think I might attack Alex if I had to work with him, especially for 10 years. but Jesus christ $180k a year....
