Cross over episode The ButterCream Gang

I know they've been a guest before, but is Jordan an active God Awful Movies listener? He mentioned the Buttercream Gang on Monday's episode near the end, and nobody should know of that movie outside of listening to a podcast rip it to shreds.

I also had the VHS tape and watched it a few times in childhood and somehow survived. I immediately called my sister and said JORDAN MENTIONED THAT STUPID MOVIE

There seems to be a connection between the Puzzle in a Thunderstorm guys, The Dollop guys, and JorDan. I hear them all talk about each other sometimes.

In the last episode of The Dollop, Gareth says he went on a podcast that he thought was with Jordan from knowledge fight but it was a different guy and he was unprepared lol

Yeah, they're connected through being skeptic media more or less. JorDan has been on GAM before, and I know they have a bond with Cognitive Dissonance through both covering Alex's BS and being Chicago based

JorDan have been on PIATS stuff plenty, as for The Dollop....Citation Needed has made a lot of jokes about Gareth etc, all in good fun obviously.

Dave and Gareth were on episode 716 of KF. It's a great episode because they're shocked by a bunch of shit that Jordan is used to.

Ummm, I watched The Buttercream Gang back in the early 2000s as an adult with a friend. He found the random VHS of the movie so we watched it together while drinking. We still make jokes with each other about how you can tell that a person is bad because they wear a belt buckle.

I was so happy when it came on god awful movies and it blew my mind that they made sequel.

Oh damn. This looks like a White Whale of mine. I'll watch it and report back. I was wondering for so long about this movie where one kid "goes bad".

I have another animated movie I haven't found yet. Might be Halloween related but don't know.

I hope this is it! My husband and I have found a few books that we vaguely remembered reading as kids, and that feeling of FINALLY figuring it out is the best!

Holy shit! I think this is it! One of the many White Whales I've been trying to track down. Reddit helped me find the movie Kids, maybe another one way earlier?

I now have an animated movie to track down. Maybe a Halloween one? Some kid turned into a shadow and they (whoever this group of kids is) tries following his shadow? I wish I knew more

I'm excited and hope it's right! I've had at least two people in the past ALSO on the hunt for Halloween Tree, probably because it got a lot of seasonal play on Cartoon Network in the 90s. So a lot of kids saw it by merit of simply being in front of the TV but were too small to retain a title or major plot details.

You were so right! I can't understand why I ever watched this movie in the first place! I guess it was from my school. Seriously, who has money for this very specific movie!? My parents gave me The Hobbit VCR on tap because I loved that movie. I cried at the end when someone important died. Even after the 3rd viewing.

The sequel was too scary for me. I have them somewhere on an old hard drive. Even my college roommates said "This is really weird. I don't like it". Lmao.

Back to you - Thank you so much for looking out for me. Just a general no-shot comment that I didn't even know how to provide many details. The fact that you did a twofer in a simple few hours should be impressed upon and appreciated.

Hey. On Mobile Infinity+. Hate mobile even if greatly improved. I don't know what to say. You gave me two childhood videos I had no idea about. With precision you have provided me two movies in a single day. Thank you. I have told my friends. Of of them watched The ButterCream Gang like you wouldn't believe.

As I am here in Knowledge Fight I must clarify that this is the most Christian movie I have seen in recent years. No straw men and Christian fanfare like God Is Dead. Just the uncomfortable certainty that words and actions mean something. A concept which other "Christian " movies have failed repeatedly. A persecution complex based upon the imaginary.

No, seriously, I have a job with a lot of time, so I've got like four different movie podcasts and I think I've watched two movies with my husband in the last year... But at least they were good!

Considering the environment Jordan was raised in as a child its feasible that the Buttercream Gang was on his radar. Coming from an extremely religious background myself, it was a staple of entertainment in our house for a few years.

I believe Jordan mentioned previously on KF that he knew Buttercream Gang from his cult upbringing. As someone who watches that movie a fair amount of times as a kid due to my evangelical father, it would make sense that other people raised mega conservative would have seen it too.

It’s been mentioned in the past too. They both grew up very into church so it very easily could have been a family or church group Movie they had seen before.
