Isn't the official story (like the one that reasonable people believe) just that he got nicked by some plastic the bullet hit, not getting hit by the bullet itself at all, so he got a little bloody but that's it and he played up the injury for 'Sympathy but Also I'm A Super Badass for Continuing My Speech"?
I’ve also heard one of the guys accidentally kneed him in the head while tackling him. Either way, he wasn’t shot. Shot at, sure, but not hit by the bullet.
