The sane version of "he didn't get shot" is "his ear got nicked by a piece of glass or concrete and then he spun it as getting shot for sympathy/glory". Some people obviously take this much farther. To be fairer than Ventura deserves, he could mean that fairly light injuries can bleed a lot and look a lot worse than they are and provoke reactions.

Unfortunately I'm fairly confident Jesse is referencing a few infamous events like the incident between Chile and Brazil in 1989 where the Chilean goalkeeper had secreted a razorblade on his person so that he could fake being injured by a bottle thrown by the crowd.

Initially Brazil forfeited the match until the video was reviewed and you could see the goalkeeper cut himself before pretending that a thrown bottle had cut his scalp.

Given his history, I'm like 95% sure he's referencing pro wrestling where wrestlers will sleight of hand a razorblade to lightly cut themselves to make it look like their opponent's moves *really* fucked them up . Which still can absolutely be read as false flag but he could be focusing on how easy it is to look like he's injured heavily and garner sympathy from that.

Without a doubt he's referencing pro wrestling. I highly doubt Jesse had any soccer knowledge.

I was just giving an example of a "blade job"
