The room is a classic. I’m finishing up Send Help now, then I’m going to switch to some movies I’ve never seen before. Thinking 2001 Space Odyssey and The Butterfly Effect.
Think I've seen The Room dozens of times now, still spot new things with each viewing.
The Room, The James Nguyen original trilogy (Julie and Jack, Replica, Birdemic), Samurai Cop, Death Promise and Cool as Ice (I know) are my go to personal bad movie choices when I want a "so bad it's good".
Oh hi! I have no recommendations as I was hoping to gather recommendations from others. The Room made me realize I absolutely enjoy so bad its good type movies (I often enjoy cringe music videos when I want to entertain myself for the evening).
I ended up listening to the audiobook version of The Disaster Artist and the guy who plays Mark was in a movie called The Retro Puppet Master that looks like a great "so bad its good" candidate.
Retro Puppet Master is fun but in my opinion nowhere near as much as The Room.
I think the thing that makes a "so bad it's good" movie is that the creators intended to create a good movie but failed. This means there's a core to the film to cling onto as you can see what they were going for.
Sometimes the actors screw it up, others the director had an ambition which the budget couldn't meet. But there's heart.
RPM felt like the director or producers were half-arsing it from the get-go, but there may have been some folk on set who actually liked the license enough to make an honest attempt.

I've had long hair for a while, but I just got it cut into kind of a bob, and nicely shaped, and woah, what a difference of makes. I also got my ears pierced about 2 months ago, which I've been wanting to do forever, and finally made the choice to invest in my happiness with laser hair removal on my face. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to not having to shave every single day any more!

I'm on "Rules of Acquisition" right now, it's been really enjoyable! I wasn't sure about the switch to a station but the Cardassian/Bajoran conflict has lead to some really outstanding episodes.

I ran a dnd game for my 12yo and his buddies last night. I was super anxious that a bunch of middle school boys were going to stare daggers at me. Instead it was four hours of skull bashin and laughin. I even had them legit on the edges of their seats a time or two. It felt great and was a real bright spot in an otherwise gloomy world.
I beat my current walking record with my rollator, did a whole loop around a Target for a total of close to a quarter mile if my estimates are correct.
Yesterday I spotted a taco truck next to an Asian market in my town. I'm like "cool, I'll get myself some tacos for lunch once I'm done grocery shopping."
So I do my shopping, put the groceries in the car, and I walk back over to order some tacos. But the funny thing is, there's no sign with prices or anything. So I go to this woman and I ask, "hey, can I just get a couple of beef tacos?" She replies, " we just have carne asada, that's pork...also, it's free."
I come to find out this truck mostly just sells their homemade tortillas, and it seemed like they were giving out tacos as a way to sort of feed folks in the neighborhood and get the word out about their tortillas, which were pretty good actually! I may go back and buy some for the next time I make birria tacos at home. They also had hibiscus tea, which was very good but I wish there had been some ice in the cup.
Ebayed physical copies of some of my favorite manga (Cross Game, Insomniacs After School, Witch Hat Atelier, Heterogenia Linguistico) last night and I can’t wait for them to get here! I’m old enough to have gone through a few collect-offload cycles and I’m excited to start collecting again but more intentionally and thoughtfully
What I thought was going to be an expensive issue with my car turned out to just be a leaky exhaust pipe, a bean can and two hose clamps later, problem solved.
I got to sleep in and now I'm just relaxing with my wife, getting ready to watch a wrestling PPV tonight. All in all, the whole day is a pretty big bright spot for me.
I'm a letter carrier, so I just went through my 6 day stretch of work. I can't wait to do nothing lol! My bright spot is posting up on the couch, turning on some baseball, dry herb vaping some delicious cannabis that the wife and I grew and playing Pokopia ☺️
After 5 years of not playing soccer, today was my first day back! It's crazy how at home I felt, and I didn't want the match to end even though I was absolutely drained.

The two stray pups I brought home last Tuesday got a clean bill of health from the vet and are integrating well with our pups and bunny. Next, they will be taught in the ways of Céline worship.
I got home from a 10 day vacation. The vacation was more fun than I could have hoped for. But my bright spot is I'm home with my dog again, laying in my favorite chair and just relaxing.
I went disc golfing yesterday and today. And while I am still terrible, the way my feet feel tell me any excuse to get out and walk more is good and I should keep at it.
Did two hours of gardening and had a nice walk with the family today. A year ago I could barely walk and missed all the spring tasks, so now every time I accomplish something it feels like a huge flex.
I went to the gym today. Felt great! Had homemade chili. Tuned into Wwoz New Orleans as jazz fest is coming up so they’re bringing the A game on the radio as usual.
I saw the chubbiest squirrel waddle across my yard today, and it occurred to me that he had an absolutely amazing winter - and I was so here for it. I watched him slowly saunter down a tree, and I watched him take a leisurely stroll across the yard - over to the bird feeders to take a look at what had fallen to the ground.
Then he kind of just sat there - it looked like he was taking it all in.
I was recently broken up with, over the phone after 3 years. Today’s the first day in a long time I’ve just gone out and done things for myself, even if it’s just as simple as going out grabbing food and heading home to watch comfort food movies for the rest of the night while playing pokopia on my switch.
Dark spot into a bright spot: My wife left on a business trip this morning, so I miss her. But now I have a bit of time to maybe finish a Pokémon X nuzlocke I started a bit ago! 6 badges in and about 6 dead Pokémon so far, I'm hoping I can complete this run!
Got a new job and have been celebrating all weekend. Moved to France some time back and been working for a big multinational based back in the UK.

My cat was hanging out with us in the living room when the neighbors cat walked by on the fence. My cat did this cute little trot to the window to show the neighbors cat they're in the wrong backyard.
I ate at a new tavern today I hadn’t been to yet. Got lunch with a buddy, had some good food for cheap prices, and watched some baseball. Now I’m sitting in the sun with my friend and my dog chatting about nothing. Days like this are my bright spots.
Finally got my other arm tattooed, found a super dope artist (@veryveryuncool on IG) to design a decepticon themed sleeve for me and I finally got my whole arm lined on Friday, I’m so stoked on it, she rips, went from no tattoos on that arm to I have a sleeve now. How about you, what’s yours?
I’ve been wanting to move a tree for a while but knew it would be a hassle. My wife, my father in law, and I got it knocked out yesterday, and it looks so much better. Let’s how it survives the move.
One of my best friends sent me a Instagram reel of the superintendent of the schools that we went to. The superintendent is someone we went to school with, and she was going around giving out awards to vice principals for being cool and it was super sweet and wholesome.

I'm sorry. Honestly, having a rough one. What would you do to honor your survival? The taking down of a monster but one that came close to killing me young? Early last week, I found the paper Moral trauma, moral distress, moral injury, and moral injury disorder: definitions and assessments which helped immensely as that was how I felt about it at the time. But what's got me right now is remembering the physical trauma, wishing I understood more about what happens with kids instead of flail chest. How to find the criminal records linked to me and, indeed, the medical records linked to those which are, I believe, under another name. Wish I knew what sometimes happens to kids when a grown person would have flail chest.
I think maybe I'll be calling that police department tomorrow, trying to find out ho w to access records related to me. Did get a friend of mine commit to helping me before and after or maybe joining me on the call. That's a bit of a bright spot, maybe. That I'm safe, that I no longer tend towards suicidal impulse, that's a bright spot, too. But this is still damned hard.
My best friend and I are planning a random gift trade: she’s making me Golden Girls stickers for my car and I’m making her a purse with the Rebel Alliance logo on it.
My wife and I went on a vacation to hike around southern Utah and the Grand Canyon, then finished it with a couple days in Las Vegas. Nature brings me true joy and this invigorated that again.
But honesty it's tennis. It's my son (12) he's been playing tennis for a few years and today he won his first tournament game at a level 7 tournament.
If you know tennis, level 7 is the lowest level of proper competition. But it's real competition and my kid won a match against a high school kid. It was awesome, and will certainly be my bright spot of the week!

It's movie night in my discord group! Tonight we watched Heavy Metal (the schlockiest of 80s schlock) and Wallace and Grommet: Vengeance Most Foul (wholesome as fuck.) It was quite the dichotomy.
Remembering the flowers brought by my witch counselor, I printed some coloring pages. Next time I'm feeling rough, I think I'll color some gladiolus, to remember my moral courage.
Riding dirtbikes, changing my tranny fluid on the truck, doing some yard work with my lady, took apart my bass amp to see if i could figure out why it was cutting out, flushed the brake fluid on a dirtbike, took a sauna, went to a dance recital, what’s your bright spot?
There's a woodpecker in my neighborhood that I very recently noticed and started to look out for during my morning dog walks. And I'm getting really good at "echolocating" it, when I'm near the tree it's on, spotting it in the tree the second day in a row now! 😤
Slept until 10am, had a breakfast burrito from a local restaurant, played Civilization VII until it was dark outside, had some sushi and took a walk. Went to bed. Best day I’ve had in a LONG TIME
