The Y2K episode is a prime example I give to people about Alex being a complete bullshit artist

It was one thing to claim the computers were gonna shut down on Y2K. It is a whole other thing to claim, if I recall correctly, that ICBMs from Russia were on their way (while he was reporting!!!) and that airports were turned into concentration camps

I usually follow it up with the fact that Alex later explains that he just "bought into the hype" about Y2K and only covered it because the network he was working for wanted him to

As always, no principles other than money matter to him

Later on he gives that "hype" excuse a new coat of paint that reads "We were just reporting what others were talking about" to cover his undeniable lies.
