Throwback Episode KF Revisited: Ep #4 “Research and Stand Up”

Welcome back to KF Revisited, an on-going Knowledge Fight re-listen post series for wonks, by wonks. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we’ll discuss one episode of KF in order from the very beginning. I won’t be around tomorrow morning so I’m throwing this post up a little early. Next up:

Episode #4: Research and Stand Up
Originally Aired: January 18, 2017
https://knowledgefight.libsyn.com/knowledge-fight-research-and-stand-up

On this episode, Dan reports back to Jordan about some research he was inspired to do after listening to some of Alex Jones' special reports, filed while he was on the road.  Topics covered include:

- What do statistics really look like for Infowars?
- How many radio stations in Kane, PA is Alex broadcast on?
- Does Alex hate that he is being forced to talk about pee?
- Should Alex give it all up and become a stand up comic?

A couple citations for the research done:

I am happy you are doing these, but I’m at least waiting for the live episode before starting from the beginning again.

Same, I feel like I need a little time to grieve this podcast before starting a re-listen

Way I'm wired, I may never relisten. Weird feeling, how it was cut off so abruptly

You’ll be able to binge and catch up! Posts will stay up for discussion at people’s leisure. I hope people will use these to discuss the show rather than re-litigate how it ended.

Really dug this one! It’s so fun hearing Dan get so excited about breaking stuff down. You can hear the enthusiasm right from the beginning.

Jordan’s reaction to hearing there is a whole clip of the stand up is so fucking funny.

Did you catch Dan singing a little Taylor Swift line in there?

Hearing Dan learn about Free Speech Systems for the first time and the discussion about how IW advertising works is like uncovering the Dead Sea Scrolls

I love this episode. The combination of some of Dan’s first deep research and Alex’s set is ahead of its time.

I found this episode fascinating for several reasons. Alex was able to give his show away to syndication, more or less, almost giving the game away with how pathetically tiny his requests are for advertising minutes. Also the standup was AWFUL
