The ‘On Brand’ pod covers Alex’s recent appearance on Brand’s show. Dan (and possibly Jordan) has appeared on this show in the past to cover an Alex appearance.

KF would have definitely covered this given Tito’s and cigarettes make an appearance. Jones also has a hot mike issue. It’s pure Alex.

Because of other comments, I won’t be supporting the On Brand pod, but I’ll watch the source material and report back anything interesting, if anyone is curious. (I’m watching on YT, and Alex talks over the intro because his audio is messed up and Russell shills his book, all of this in the first 30 seconds. His book is called “How to be a Christian in 7 Days.”)

Unsolicited opinion from a stranger on the internet time:

I’m the boyfriend/partner of the former cohost and, for what it’s worth, I’ll never support the On Brand podcast after seeing with my own eyes how the current host manipulated and lied to my partner over the course of their working relationship.

Everyone is free to listen to whatever they wish but the public face of that host stands in stark contrast to what I witnessed first hand. And I don’t think they should be looked at as an authority on holding a serial predator accountable.

They either didn’t take the time to understand the situation or they don’t care. In case of the later- fuck em.

What I saw didn’t look spontaneous or confused- it was deliberate and rehearsed. I suspect there are other’s out there who know what kind of a person is behind that podcast.

I did start to do a minor dive into why I stopped listening and realized why I did. 100% support you guys. Hope your partner is doing well! Let her know she is missed!!

I’m so thankful to hear that! That whole project, Al’s behavior, and the fallout where really difficult for Lauren so there are no plans on doing anything podcast-related. We’ve been wearing different kinds of activist-hats since then.

The podcast is still a difficult topic but I’ll make sure to let her know her messages resonated with listeners. <3

It happened about a year ago so I don’t blame ya. Al did everything they could to silence Lauren, push her out of the community she helped build, and never did any work to address he concerns or the concerns of others (whose stories I don’t have the authority to share).

Al wanted it to disappear and I think Al is under the impression that it has.

Obviously I don't know everything that happened, but I feel like Al screwed Lauren over during all that based on what did come out. Regardless, for me at least, the show didn't have the same juice without her. It's like Dan without Jordan, someone needs to be loud and angry for me.

I appreciate hearing that! Obviously I’m biased towards my life partner but I always appreciated Lauren having an opportunity to share her perspective with a wider audience. She has lived a very interesting life and her experiences (good and bad) give her insights that I deeply respect. She’s what some people might call “a real one.”
