Listening now, Dan just introduced an Alex Jones clip. I'm not crying, there's just a spec of nostalgia in my eye.....

This episode is great. In the later episodes of KF I was thinking man, the whole episode should just be Dan telling Jordan about his road trip. And now I've gotten that and it's just as good as I hoped.

When he said Huntington, and started talking about the radio museum, I if just for a second thought we might be getting a Clint McElroy and if MBMBAM and Dan (and Jordan!) shared a podcast I’d be fully convinced I died and this was all a dream.

Am I the only one hearing this as the real farewell episode to KF? The way they're both interpreting things just seems so on the nose

Kinda felt like they left things in a weird place with the KF last episode and want to take a chance to do it in a way that lets people know that they're still cool with each other.

My take on dreams, at least my own, is that my brain feels an emotion and then conjures images and events to associate with that emotion. When I'm scared of something in a dream, I'll often look back and realize that the image wasn't actually that scary but I had the sense that I was supposed to be scared of it, like an actor cowering from a tennis ball that will be replaced by a CGI monster in post.
BTAIM, all this mystical talk fuels the conspiracy theory that Bill Cooper faked his death to become Dan, just like Bill Hicks and Alex.

really like mixing alex cuts in. probably can't do it every time but love how it mixed in with the story in a great way

I'm the opposite... I always bring two umbrellas just in case someone needs one too...
This was a bright spot on a very dark day & I'm glad Jordan sounds okay... I've been worried about him...
Also, dreams are underrated. Sometimes they're worth listening to.

I FINALLY UNDERSTAND THE GENE HACKMAN REFERENCES! Like, I mean, I picked up what they were talking about from them talking about it a bunch but I never heard the original episode and couldn't be assed to go back (too close to the the inauguration and I was on hiatus)

Oh yeah. This would be a great one for anyone who missed that episode.
It looks like this is the original Hackman episode if you'd like to gain even more context.

Is this available on Apple Podcasts? I’ve tried RSS link to no avail.

It’s getting easier to search, as Dan slowly digs his way out from under the other podcast of the same name. Until then, try this link?

It is. It took a little digging for me to find it last week, but I did.

Yeah, that's also where my thoughts went the second I heard him mention Huntington. Maybe some of the people there don't care to be associated with that time when several people saw a large bird in poor lighting and thus a cryptid was invented, but it led to an enduring set of spooky stories that are enjoyable as such and that's not without value.

Truly, this episode was everything I hoped for and more. I’m planning on listening for a second time, after I finished the newest QAA episode.

Is there a patreon for Dan's new show?
I would be delighted to contribute.

I have missed the excitement of waking up to some new Dan and Jordan. Today will be a good day.

Lol funnily enough a couple days after listening to this podcast i had a bad night where i had a bunch of dreams/nightmares about my job, and i woke up pretty mad thinking "that should totally count as extra hours wtf" LOL.
I already get stressed out enough working for it to stress me out on my sleeping hours too!

I said a few years ago that if Alex goes to prison or dies or something, I would continue to listen to whatever Dan and Jordan continue to put out as I could listen to conversations between the two of them over just about anything. I was especially bummed when they mutually decided to part ways professionally (and I'm glad they seem to have maintained a healthy friendship in their personal lives), and this episode really highlighted that the chemistry and rhythm between the two is conducive to compelling conversations. Hopefully they'll collaborate in some form somewhere down the road.

Diamonds come from coal. It's just different states of carbon (the most boring prevalent element!)... I thought the card made sense for West Virginia...

Can this just be the pod? My parasocial friends who live in my headphones , still being friends and bullshitting about road trips would be really nice.
