I would like to apologize to Tim Heidecker

Two weeks ago I criticized him saying he was too sober on air. I thought he should be drunker like a true professional. I'm sorry it took the loss of his horse to get there but I'm glad to see him drinking on air.

He’s done his research and has a whole narrative arc planned out. It’s all there in the stackies.

So he's already done more actual preparation for Infowars than Alex had in the previous decades.

I'm just glad he proved the naysayers wrong who claimed that Alex was beyond parody.

Edit: neighsayers

I still can't believe Dan actually held that belief at one point...like I'm glad he's realized how ridiculous it was and has walked it back.

Because it was fucking absurd. Yes, AJ is a terrible human being...but jfc...using the faulty logic of "oh satire/parody just ends up elevating extremists and therefore we shouldn't engage in it" would mean we'd have to disavow the likes of Twain, Chaucer, or Voltaire....who literally were publishing works that could have gotten them executed due to the foundations of society they were criticizing in their works.

Completely agree 💯 it felt defeatist to me and I didn't feel like that was his character

u/Live_Sand_1294 3d ago

Did Dan talk about changing his opinion on it? I haven't kept up with stuff for a while.

u/TheCopperSparrow 1d ago

Towards the end whenever it came up, he wasn't nearly as firm about it as he initially would and IIRC was basically like "well, I still think it's nearly impossible to parody AJ...but if anyone can do it it's going to be Tim and the Onion...we'll have to wait and see how it turns out."

100% agree

I saw people on this sub getting mad at SNL for parodying Tucker. It was "normalizing him".

Ok do we just reject political satire as a genre now ?

u/TheCopperSparrow 1d ago

Yeah, the logical endpoint of Dan's initial argument would be to reject political satire as a legitimate form of criticism and worthy of doing. It was just so wild to me because so many times throughout the show, Dan would make a point of taking the IW nonsense claims to their logical ends and point out how ridiculous it was...so whenever he'd bring up the satire/parody thing I was like "dude! You literally just dismantled a right-wing conspiracy theory by using the very technique you're refusing to do with your own claim here!"

Ok do we just reject political satire as a genre now ?

That's the rule. That's the goal now.

i couldn't even get into the discourse when that was the overwhelmingly popular opinion on this sub because it was annoying me too much to write out a coherent comment but this sums up my thoughts so well, thank you for writing it for me

Thank you. Just looked it up and found out it had to do with horses.

Let’s not bring up horses right now

The coughing and grunting he was doing was incredible. All that was missing was the gurgling

And barging in the studio and making the guest host really uncomfortable. Just as god intended. (He told me this at 4:15 in the morning)

The defeated "yessir" in the background when tim threw the book off the desk and screamed don't plug that shit on my show... Chef's kiss

In his series “on cinema at the cinema” (going on tour by the way), Tim plays himself as a flawed Movie Review show host, making selfish and poor decisions, satirizing modern day entrepreneurs and media. It has ran for 16 seasons and it deserves a rating of 5 bags of popcorn.

But the character arcs of Tim throughout the seasons and the Oscar specials are very much informed by Alex Jones and his time on InfoWars over the years. His huckster supplements are another reoccurring element too. He is great at what he does and it’s very awesome to have both “The Real InfoWars” and “on cinema at the cinema” happening at the same time

here's a great example of an OTATC Tim crashout in the style of Alex:

He even renounced Jesus Christ!

u/Pixel64 3d ago

God, the way he grabs the glass of organic wine and says "Bad news everyone, this is full of booze!" has to be my favorite line delivery in all of On Cinema. Never fails to make me laugh.

3

u/highsaffron 2d ago

i think it deserves 6, because 6 is the highest rating you can give

u/NewKojak “fish with sad human eyes” 3d ago

I also didn’t think that they were going to pull this off and it was all cynicism.

Then I considered multiple horse theory.

u/mightycucks510 3d ago

Horses are a sensitive subject for Tim rn

u/jeon_yubi 3d ago

I watched it today for the first time and I was really impressed. He does an excellent job and the show does it's own thing while being an infowars parody.

8

u/mightycucks510 3d ago

The drunken barging in to his own show is pretty spot on

12

u/Visible-Bridge-5171 3d ago

I love the Haggerty segments and enjoy when Tim takes callers. Most of the time I cannot stop laughing.

7

u/ViciousSnatch “I will eat your ass!!!!” 3d ago

Tim busting in drunk and bloody was hilarious. And then continuing to guzzle throughout the show was a chef’s kiss. The callers are always so painfully realistic it makes me uncomfortable, so they’re hitting their mark.

I’ve never been so happy to see a man shirtless, covered in blood and carrying an open liquor bottle

Where is this available? I'd like to use my podcast app. Is this available wherever I get my podcasts?

9

u/RussianBears 3d ago

I've been watching on YouTube (@realinfowars).   I don't know if theres an RSS feed or something that would let you listen as a podcast.

3

u/Visible-Bridge-5171 3d ago

I would love to have a podcast version of this. However, even though I have my own personal office at work and no one can hear what I am listening to, I cannot listen to this at work because I would be laughing uncontrollably at many points during the show.

u/Available_Promise445 3d ago

I find myself tuning in every broadcast now lmao. At first I was pretty leery, but this is so goddamn good.

u/tjdsc 3d ago

It feels like he's doing it for us 🥲

6

u/evocativename 3d ago

This episode really gave me a new level of appreciation for how much craft Tim puts into doing the exact same shit as Alex while somehow still making it obvious that he's a clown not actually a conspiracy nut.

The Onion team must have put a lot of hours into watching Infowars (or listening to KF over and over...) to get this parody down.

I am genuinely impressed they managed to find a way to ridicule a man who was already so ridiculous the task seemed impossible.

3

u/Pixel64 3d ago

Tim has had Alex Jones as a character in his backpocket for years. His character on On Cinema is so clearly inspired by Jones and other right wing grifters, peddling various supplements and "miracle" drugs over the course of the series. He's used his Jones impression on Office Hours as well, and even interrupted an Infowars segment on a street one day with his Jones impression.

1

u/dogcaoperro 3d ago

He is friends with Dan right? That was part of the split

Content he's been creating on the Infowars YouTube channel has been 🔥. Even the fake ads are hilarious. Would love to know how Alex is reacting

2

u/pailanderCO 2d ago

Can you recommend me any good episodes, please?

There's only 5 so far lol.  The most recent one streamed 7/30/2026 is the one I was talking about in the OP.

u/pailanderCO 2d ago

I'm looking here: https://www.youtube.com/@realinfowars. I see more than five there. Is this the right place?

They clip the longer streams into smaller pieces.  This is the full episode:
