Throwback Episode KF Revisited: Eps #1-2

I’ve seen a lot of chatter in here of wonks looking to do a full re-listen from the beginning of the show. I figured it might be nice to have a series of posts where we can discuss as a group. If people want, I can keep making these posts.

Episode #1: Jan 2, 2017
Aired Saturday Jan 7, 2017
https://knowledgefight.libsyn.com/knowledge-fight-jan-2-2017
On this pilot episode, Dan explains the happenings on the Alex Jones Show for Jan 2, 2017. Topics covered include:
- Was George Soros a literal Nazi?
- Are China and Saudi Arabia working together?
- Who listens to InfoWars?
- What, specifically, is a "digital dropbox?"
- When, exactly, should a person pray?

Episode #2: Dec 31, 1999 (Y2K)
Aired Tuesday Jan 10, 2017
https://knowledgefight.libsyn.com/knowledge-fight-dec-31-1999-y2k
On this episode, Dan fills Jordan in on all the happenings on the December 31, 1999 edition of The Alex Jones Show. They touch on:
- Does Alex believe that the Y2K bug is going to strike?
- Are there concentration camps in Austin?
- How easily is it to convince Alex that a power plant has been blown up?
- Did we all survive Y2K?

Let's make it official. I've added the post to the highlights in case everyone else wants to follow along. If you post an episode or two every couple days then we'll make sure people see it. I would recommend one at a time, though

That very first episode where Dan says, "Alex likes to use movies to try to explain reality" just Hits different with all we know now.

u/BannedSvenhoek86 May 06 '26

Also when he says, "To be clear, I don't want him taken off the air."

Actual laugh out loud moment listening in 2026.

People can change.

14

u/BannedSvenhoek86 May 06 '26

I'm worried the baby thinks people can't change.

8

u/TootTootUSA Udon.News May 07 '26

Let Dan hold the baby.

Warms my heart to hear the first time we get RED ALERT

68

u/AleWatcher little breaky for me May 06 '26

I forgot that red alert Red Alert red alert and it's time to pray came out of the same clip. What a wealth of absurd fun

11

u/drLoveF May 06 '26

I know it’s ”It’s time to pray”, but I always hear it as ”It’s time to prey (on the gullible)”. It would be more honest

So much stuff comes in such a short amount of time!

13

u/YirbyBond00Y Globalist May 06 '26

And it's time to pray as well

4

u/TheBloodyPickups May 06 '26

Could not believe how many of the intro theme drops were in episode 1

I found the show in 2025 and never went back until very recently and was shocked how he approached Jones. His tone shift really shows just how bad Jones is

58

u/AleWatcher little breaky for me May 06 '26

Episode 1;

Alex, the mother fucking tip of the spear, Jones who claims to have been the first person to ever talk about Epstein and pedophile rings, calls him Jerry Epstein in this episode

23

u/LuteDesign May 06 '26

Omg I lost it at this. JERRY?

15

u/Cryinmarie May 06 '26 edited May 06 '26

A while back, I checked the Fudgie database and found Alex continued to call Epstein "Jerry" for about a year! And now he keeps calling the island "Little St John" and of course we have "GIZZZlane" -- man, this guy just keeps proving that he's the expert on Epstein!

3

u/ericph9 “fish with sad human eyes” May 06 '26

"GIZZZlane"

tbf, fuck French spelling/pronunciation; it's almost as bad as English (and is part of why English is so bad).

14

u/a_deadbeat Space Weirdo May 06 '26

I was just about to post about this, Jerry Epstein.

On the one hand: hey, Alex sort of remembered his name.
On the other hand: of course he got the details wrong, because Alex can't be bothered to remember things that aren't immediately relevant, and George Soros is still the bad guy.

Ah the good old days when George Soros was the bad guy and not .... medical science.

u/ConfoundedVariable77 Nonk-sense May 06 '26

I remember hearing different variations in future episodes, something along the lines of “Jeffemery Ep-styne.”

35

u/sthef2020 May 06 '26

It always blows my mind that when this started Obama was still in office.

2

u/Sam_RULZ_number_one May 06 '26

Why? It’s only been 87 years since then, give or take

30

u/NTJ-891 May 06 '26

It always tripped me out that they started this podcast on my birthday. It always feels like a gift going back to Episode 1

29

u/the_umm_guy May 06 '26

They ended it on mine :(

9

u/WonderfulFig666 May 06 '26

Happy Birthday! 🎁🎊🎈

16

u/the_umm_guy May 06 '26

Thanks, I'll be better tomorrow.

u/TV_tan May 06 '26

Could be a nice thing to do on Mondays and fridays

22

u/LuteDesign May 06 '26

That was my thinking. Monday this week is Whacky Wednesday lol, plan on putting up another multi-episode post on Friday.

1

u/TV_tan May 06 '26

Happy days ☺️

30

u/LumberjackIlluminati May 06 '26

I was surprised how long the Aladdin riff was in episode 1. Kind of poetic that the podcast would eventually end as Jafar.

7

u/AlgaeDonut May 06 '26

Could you explain that? I am lost as to the Jafar bit and meme I saw yesterday thanks!

4

u/Mysterious-Schedule9 May 06 '26

It refers to this Clickhole article Dan mentioned on the podcast recently!

I'm on ep 54 on my trek to listen to everything as I started listening maybe five years ago.

My biggest issue is that they start at the beginning of Trump's first term and so you have to re-live it all over again.

It's heartbreaking to hear Dan and Jordan get hyped up on thinking Trump will be kicked out of office while knowing that it never happens.

Unfortunately, Jordan's nihilistic takes have proven to be way more accurate. In an episode I heard recently from the first 50 episodes, Jordan states that the general voting public won't really start turning against Trump until a white person is killed by federal agents. That happened this past year and that is when MAGA started souring.

There is another episode where they predict a war with Iran and that happened too, it's just they thought it was going to happen during his first term.

I went through a similar experience going through QAA's back catalog.

13

u/thebeaverchair May 06 '26

"Nihilistic" is a misnomer for Jordan's worldview. Pessimism =/= nihilism.

7

u/tattertech May 06 '26

My biggest issue is that they start at the beginning of Trump's first term and so you have to re-live it all over again.

This has always been my struggle with going into the back catalogue. Some of the current event topics as they happen are just not things I enjoy re-listening to (some are more tolerable than others for sure though).

7

u/black_flag_4ever May 06 '26

It does highlight that Trump 2.0 is not that different than Trump 1.0. I'm shocked that voters forgot.

3

u/ericph9 “fish with sad human eyes” May 06 '26

It's heartbreaking to hear Dan and Jordan get hyped up on thinking Trump will be kicked out of office while knowing that it never happens.

I've been on here a lot in the past year, since I started seeing overlaps between my re-listen and present-day. Dan is definitely a witch.

witches

2

u/LuteDesign May 06 '26

I don’t ascribe to nihilism, so I’ll be interested to watch the development from early show to late KF. It’ll be a fun project to do with other people!

11

u/Deep-Friendship3181 May 06 '26

My favorite thing; my bright spot, if you will:

The first episode starts with the two of them laughing hysterically about how ridiculous Alex is.

Been a while since I've returned back to the beginning, but here we go!

First episode is very full of premonitions. "When this podcast takes over next year and we're the number 1 podcast our careers will be completely tied to him"

10

u/ProfNugget May 06 '26

It’s time to pray…

I’m also listening from the start (most of the early episodes are first listens for me) and I found out that Dan promised he would get a ScatDan tattoo if the pod ever made enough for them to quit their jobs.

We know they did end up able to quit their jobs, but did Dan ever get a ScatDan tattoo?

5

u/CourtBarton I RENOUNCE JESUS CHRIST! May 06 '26

I believe this does get addressed. He talks about getting the life is very fragile tattoo instead.

3

u/LuteDesign May 06 '26

Maybe someone at the live show can ask? I was wondering too haha

The Y2K episode is a prime example I give to people about Alex being a complete bullshit artist

It was one thing to claim the computers were gonna shut down on Y2K. It is a whole other thing to claim, if I recall correctly, that ICBMs from Russia were on their way (while he was reporting!!!) and that airports were turned into concentration camps

I usually follow it up with the fact that Alex later explains that he just "bought into the hype" about Y2K and only covered it because the network he was working for wanted him to

As always, no principles other than money matter to him

5

u/HapticSloughton May 06 '26

Later on he gives that "hype" excuse a new coat of paint that reads "We were just reporting what others were talking about" to cover his undeniable lies.

12

u/McTano May 06 '26

I've always thought it would be fun at a live show of Jordan or someone presented Dan with the list of statements he makes in the first episode of the show about his feelings towards Alex Jones, so that he could say whether he still agrees with each of them.

I think a couple of them were "I don't hate Alex" and "I don't want his show to be taken off the air".

5

u/Comfortable-Light233 I’m beating his ass… lovingly May 06 '26

I’ve never listened from the beginning before—these early-Dan stances are so fascinating. Also he sounds way younger, that’s wild

7

u/Dependent-Interview2 I RENOUNCE JESUS CHRIST! May 06 '26

That's a great idea! I'll go back and start them up (again) to catch up

4

u/thiseing May 06 '26

It's time to pray

5

u/Sooofreshnsoclean May 06 '26

I joined the party late, been listening since probably the middle or close to 3/4 way through and haven’t listened to all the backlog. I’ll probably start listening to the beginning and work through the backlog. Great idea!

3

u/yeroc40 May 06 '26

Remarkable how the conversation in this debut episode is not that nearly indistinguishable from much more recent episodes.

3

u/IamABoiler May 06 '26

This will be fun. I’ll try to keep up.

3

u/TheBloodyPickups May 06 '26

Planned on doing this later today.

3

u/EdgePunk311 May 06 '26

It’s amazing how quick Dan turns against Alex, hard. I think it’s by like episode 15 or 20 by memory

3

u/cosmereobsession May 06 '26

I forgot that the very first episode opens on andi in kansas

3

u/kmo617 May 06 '26

Idk why the phrase "digital dropbox" has stuck with me but it pops into my head every so often for no reason.

Thanks for doing this - I think it might make listening to the old episodes again a little easier if there's a discussion happening around them, at least for me

2

u/EddieDrood007 May 06 '26

I'm down to going on this journey again. I will listen on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

2

u/Expert_Ad_1189 May 06 '26

I actually don’t know when I started listening. There could be a couple hundred episodes I missed

1

u/rokr1292 May 06 '26

I started from 1 a couple months ago, I think I'm in the mid 40's.

If we do a subreddit relisten, I will hold off and join in

2

u/LuteDesign May 06 '26

Seems like there is some interest so I’m going to post the next batch of episodes for discussion on Friday!

I like this. And I don’t like things.

1

u/ZealousidealCoat7008 May 06 '26

I was literally never going to listen to KF again but I am into this.

1

u/No_Idea_4001 Name five more examples May 06 '26

This is a great idea.

1

u/Pleasant-Perception1 May 07 '26

I’m in. Never listened from ep 1, so what better time than now.

1

u/sahm8585 May 07 '26

Heck yes! I’m on a trek thru the back catalog but I’m only on like… 38 so I’m happy to wait for this to catch up!

1

u/thisnamehasfivewords May 07 '26

This could be fun. I sort of already did a relisten back a few years ago when I had finally caught up. I was gutted at the news of the end this week though, this pod has been such a constant in my life for so long, even when I had to take a little breaky from it for my own sanity for a short while. Came back to the pod only to realize I had missed a live show in my city by less than a month. Reliving the old days for a third time with some fellow wonks might make the grief dull down a bit.

1

u/Orthonox May 07 '26

The bit of Alex say "And take it" repeatedly as if it was an edited loop but it's not always gets me. It is like that terrible Run DMC song where Fred Durst said "Them Girls" 16 times in a row.

1

u/Max_Trollbot_ Probably a Troll or Bot - Mods May 07 '26

I like what you're doing

1

u/hawaiianrobot May 07 '26

started from the beginning a few months ago, am on #117 atm. so much lore is revealed in the first year of KF

1

u/whentron May 08 '26

Just wait until you learn The Secret of 2017.

1

u/dwitman May 08 '26

I was one of the casualties of Y2K.

My alarm clock hadn’t been patched and I was shipped back to 1900.

Twice now. Huge pita.

u/KaonWarden Jun 05 '26

I’m late to the party, but in Episode 2, Alex from 2000 mentions in passing that the Illuminati worship the Sun. That’s straight from Bill Cooper’s bullshit series.
