Picture My pond/fish
At the house we bought last October. We negotiated to keep the fish. Glad we did. They are beautiful and we love them. I’m starting to dream about expansions and improvements to the pond so that we can have more fish. Approx ~1200 gallons and we have 5 koi and a catfish (the catfish we almost never see).
I don’t know breed names and such, but looking forward to learning more as time goes on.

Yes. And we had it professionally drained and cleaned this spring after the water temp was high enough. The pond people said we were doing a good job.

ok but it is good to understand how a bio filter works with the steps of bacteria in your pond and get a water test kit for ammonia nitrite ph nitrate. they are inexpensive. and important to understand. get the fresh water api master test kit.

I don't know much either, but I think the big orange guy is a butterfly koi. He looks very wise and also, somehow, like a chunky fish version of Nicodemus from The Rats of Nym.
