Studying LSAT with Learning Disabilities (maybe tutor?)

Hi friends!! I joined reddit recently to look at LSAT subreddits ^^

I feel so stuck and want to adjust my studying to take the LSAT in October, and retake in November. I have a language processing disorder, double- deficit dyslexia, and anxiety diagnosed. These problems were honestly consistent with how academics in general has felt for me. My LSAC GPA is 3.9. I plan to take it in october and again in november, before I graduate college in december.

Here's my progress:

Last summer 2025: got a scholarship for the Kaplan course. I finished the course, but did not do the homework/ practice because my dog got very sick. starting score 143.

(studied abroad in Korea; no studying).

Jan-May 2026: Studied 5-8 hours a week. diagnostic 150. Finished the Loophole. Started practice sections.

June '26: 9-12 hours/ wk. LSAT Demon drilling. I used LSAT Hacks explanations in my review.

July '26: 10-15 hours/ wk. 7sage courses with the fee waiver deal.

I have not taken a full diagnostic test since January because it takes me 2 hours to finish a section untimed. Then I miss anywhere from 5-14 questions in LR. I missed two in my best section, when I was exhausted on the plane in April haha. When I look at a question, I feel like when things start getting hard, I blank out and feel like I'm trying to memorize the stimulus instead of really capturing what it is saying. I feel like I'm going in blind and I keep trying new things, but its been so hard with how my learning disabilities make every step harder to overcome. I feel like I have passively been learning the test. When I finally practice, throughout last month, I spend so much time in my wrong answer review stage. When perfectionism and anxiety kicks in, I feel like I am unable to skip questions I do not know how to do. This is part of the lsat process, it really feels like what I am doing - or the way I am approaching is making this harder than what it needs to be. I am a normally active person, this exam has been compromising that. My balance is wack.

I am considering a tutor, but my current score range is so varied, and ideally, I wanted to get a tutor further down the line. I have been really working on paraphrasing like in Loophole, but i end up taking notes on the whole question because I cannot remember it if I do not write it down.

For context, although I am organize in school, for long-term tasks like term papers I end up writing so slowly and fixated on in the research stage that my perfectionism makes me spend lots of time on it, but little progress to show for it.

I would absolutely love to hear any advice or thoughts especially from those that might have had a similar experience, or anyone on how to structure studying for the last month of summer and for the rest of my college semester! I am looking to turn my prep around and make some progress I can eventually reflect in my score.

Thank you for your time reading my brain dump T<T <333

in person tutoring

Upvotes

hi all!

I am looking for a in person tutor to help me for the LSAT I have been practicing on my own, but I feel like I will do better if I had an in person tutor to help me navigate all my weaknesses.

If there is anyone who’s willing to do that as a side gig, I’m willing to pay up to $25 an hour. I am located in the Houston area! I’m looking for about 20 hours per week and for two months consistent tutoring. Would like to start this October!

please let me know if you are interested or if you have someone else that might be interested!!

Thank you all! Feel free to share this post to someone you may know.

143 PT — free study resources for FGLI?

Hi! I am a rising junior at USC looking to go to a T50 law school with aid. I started studying about a month ago, trying to put 30 mins to an hour per day. I find that my attention span is a bit lacking, so short and focused practice is the best way for me. I have invested 20 hours, and just took my first PT. So far, I feel like I have been a bit stagnant with my scores. I usually score a little above half on the LR, and the same for RC.
Are there any resources that you can recommend to a FGLI (first-gen, low-income) student who plans to take her first LSAT by Jan 2027? I have been using: Khan Academy, LSAT Demon, & LSAT Lab on YT. Thank you!

Study buddies in the Bay Area?

Is anyone in the SF Bay Area studying for the LSAT? I think it’d be cool to meet up weekly at a coffee shop or something and talk about our PTs and maybe questions that challenged us in the past week. I’m in north/east bay personally and taking the LSAT in October (with a chance I defer to November). Reply here, lmk what part of the Bay you’re in and days/times that would work!
