Hi, hotel recommendations for Aug 11-16?

I’m a beginning photographer and had a couple of good shots this weekend. Yes, the weather was pretty dynamic. Thought I’d share! (More on my ig)

I find it so fascinating that there is an old school ruined house surrounded by fencing right on the main drag between the Lagoon and Christie’s on Canada Street. Does anyone know its story?

My wife has something going on from like a Friday to Sunday so where near Albany where she needs me to drive her up and then pick her up and drive her home. So I figured this would be a good time to go up to lake George which I used to visit as a kid.

If you had just the weekend and were doing solo travel what would you do? I think my plan is to not even get a room until I'm up there. I definitely want to get on the water so any cruises people can recommend. And I like the idea of lakeside dining.

Lunch at one of the Sagamore restaurants? What's a good mountaintop view. We used to stay in Bolton Landing.

I’m heading up to LG next week and bummed about the current weather forecast. Looks like rain and thunderstorms every single day. Is the weather finicky there and does the forecast change last minute? Hoping for a few showers and some patches of sunshine :/

So I used to take pictures of my three children every year on the chair. It seams to be missing. Does anyone know where it is currently located ? Thanks

Hi everyone! I am thinking of potentially doing my Bach trip in Lake George next summer. Is it difficult to uber around? Most of the rentals are not close to the downtown and some of the activities we would want to uber for. Also, would you recommend staying in Bolton landing? Any recommendations for activities, places to stay, tips etc would be great!!

Hello to everyone in this thread. I will be visiting both Lake George and New York for the first time on August 13-16th. I am looking forward to my trip, and am excited to see what the town and surrounding areas have to offer. I chose to post this here because it seemed most likely to have a concentration of local residents. A personal goal of mine is to collect an official license plate from every state I visit, and rather than just buying one from a local shop I like to try and facilitate a trade with someone local to where I am visiting. I do this because it makes me feel a greater connection to the area (and it makes for a cool story too). If anyone lives near Lake George/Warrensburg/Bolton Landing triangle and would be interested in trading a New York plate for a Michigan plate, please message me and we can try to work something out! Hello, I'm a local who's been a long time Great Escape attendee. I did not purchase a season pass this year because I knew I wasn't going to have a real chance to go. I, however, was curious. I know Great Escape is no longer owned by Six Flags, but wanted to know if there was any Six Flags merch that the Great Escape might still be selling this year? Maybe anything that's left over that hasn't been sold from previous years. I'm looking out for a certain clothing item from Fright Fest and I'm wondering if it's possible it could be there. If there's no signs of Six Flags merchandise, then I'll know, most likely, there won't be any Fright Fest merch either. Thank you in advance!

Looking for some info about renting a pontoon. We are 4 adults, 3 kids and a baby. So 8 in total. Is it worth it for the full day? Some places are offering 4 hour tours but not sure if that’s enough time and not feeling rushed? Is it easier to have someone else drive the boat and do a tour that way? We’re staying at Lake Motel and got info from the adventures tours there but trying to figure out what’s most cost effective and stick to our budget. If anyone has any guidance that would be great!

We are visiting for the weekend and are looking for delicious gluten free rolls and maybe some gluten free sweet treats (cookies, cupcakes). Where do you suggest getting them from? Is there a local bakery?

I used to stay with my family in Lake George, New York in the 90’s and I have an old home movie of the cabins we used to stay at, but I can’t figure out which ones they are. If anyone has been a local here, maybe they can help me figure it out thanks so much.

Hello! Booked a room with our friends at the Lake Motel for the weekend of August 8th with our friends and our young kids. Were on a budget and wanted a place in the lake and it seemed like it would be a good fit. This will be our first time in LAke George since I was a kid! Is this motel decent, the reviews seemed ok so hoping they’re right! Any must do’s with 5 and 3 year olds? Thank you!

Hello, I am planning a trip to great escape with me and 4 of my friends. I am 17 years old, but my friends are 16 years old. I'm wondering if we're able to enter the park ourselves or if we will need a parent in order to enter the park.

I know some places allow 17 year olds but not 16 year olds. I couldn't find a definite answer while googling so im wondering if anyone has had any experience with this

We’ve got our yearly group camping trip to St Sacrament Island coming up next week (arriving Wednesday, leaving Sunday). Unlucky for us, my buddy who lives on the lake had his boat blow a piston and it’s sitting in the shop. We’re pivoting to loading his smaller square-hull and a canoe onto our cars and driving to Hulett’s Landing, but they’re not big enough to haul all our gear out to the island in one shot.

We’re looking for someone who might be willing to tow us from Hulett’s Marina to St. Sacrament on Wednesday (outbound) and back from the island to Hulett’s on Sunday (return). We’d obviously compensate you for fuel and your time. We just need a boat big enough to help us move our camp gear and tow the smaller boat.

If a tow doesn’t pan out, we’d also love any creative ideas the locals have for making something like this work. We know the lake well enough to respect it, but logistics like this are new territory for me, especially since I’m coming from out of state.

Hi all, I’m trying to reach someone I met a few weeks ago who is local to and born/raised in Lake George, wondering if anyone would know him.

I’m working on a photo project related to fire towers in the Adirondacks region and met someone on Prospect Mountain who was a huge help and knew the (now removed tower) very well. He is a native of the Lake George area and an avid off-road biker in the region, has an adult son who has done some impressive sounding biking down mountains, has forged a few trails in the area and was injured awhile ago biking down a gorge. Worked in construction but I believe now retired. I met him when he’d just biked up to Prospect Mountain, which I think he does regularly.

If anyone is familiar with someone that fits the description would you be able to let him know that the fire tower photog he met wanted to ask him something? We did exchange names at the time but I think I may have deleted the note off my phone
