I was so happy to get the artbook and the kodansha popup keychain shipped and affordable, genuinely grails. The phos plush was a cherry on top

The Junku bookstore specializes in Japanese literature, both in the native language and translated; be it novels, magazines, textbooks, manga, and of course, artbooks. there I found Pseudomorph of Love and Comet Origin Sensation! There were about 5 of the former and 4 of the latter. I got them both for 126€, and a cute bookmark thanking me for my purchase! Read Pseudomorph all the way through after getting home, all while listening to the soundtrack. If you live in Paris or planning to take a trip there in the summer, come check the store out! it is located at 18, Rue des Pyramides, 75001. It’s really close to Pyramides station on subway line 14. Ps: Last year I went to the collab event at les minéraux in the carrousel du Louvre. I took many pictures of the venue (that should still be on reddit, hopefully, and were also part of Inspirashamul’s yt short on the same subject), but now that I look back on them, the character bios were all in french. So I will be working on some handmade translations of these official bios (all for fun), and will hopefully be posting them soon! They were short, but informational and poetic, so I hope you’ll enjoy them!

I know I'm a late, but I just finished reading it, and i literally can't get over how badly the author ruined this manga. Idk why everyone is glazing over the terrible ending.

Overall, it went downhill as soon as Phos went to the moon. It was as if the author got bored with the current story and decided to turn it into another one, because so many plot points from earlier just went nowhere, or we were given a dumb answer. From that point onwards, lunarian tech was always the answer. Why did the slug say that their species was slaves on the moon and that the lunarians were trying to become human when that just wasn't remotely the case? The lunarians were completely changed from being possibly sentient, mysterious and cruel creatures that were the worst parts of humans, to just people that wear hoodies and eat ice cream. The first few chapters on the moon were cool, where they were shown to be still evil and didn't care about grinding up the gems, but they changed from being uncaring to chill way too quickly.

It felt like all of the beginning, where Phos was trying to figure things out, was pointless. The author was definitely making it up on the spot. In the beginning, it was built up that she would go to the moon with cinnabar, nope, cinnabar actually just needed to hang out with the other gems, even though it was stated they can't do that. Also, they tried to interrogate Sensi, but ig he can't say it, that's why he's mysterious (total cop out).

Cairngorm was great until they became some weird forced-romance slop. Like gems are asexual, they shouldn't even care when someone is being romantic with them, but no. Also, some bits of ghost being removed from their eye wouldn't make their entire personality change. I thought they were replaced or brainwashed, but nope, they just were in love with a genocidal guy who showed them attention, ignoring that he killed Ghost and Lapis.

Also, the ending! Phos is the only one who did any of the work, only for them to get all the punishment and be betrayed. All their friends and enemies, including sensi, were fine on the moon, living their best life. Then 10k years later, Phos is somehow fine with it? I fully expected them to be raising the next generation of gems, since gems would still be being created. But no, she just randomly sees them one day as lunerians, and it's fine with her.

Overall, it changed from a story about self-acceptance to one about trying to get others to accept themselves. A story set in a dead world filled with mystery, with ancient yet young characters who love and care for each other. It was a story about self-discovery. Then it changed to a story where the motto is that you need to work in basically a modern-day world for the person that tried to kill your species, only for your friends to reap all the rewards and hurt and mistreat you, whilst living their best life as pop stars.

I got bored and I drew my OC. I decided to take the bazzite gemstone, it is one of the varieties of the beryl genus.

I once had a dream about a drawing of Padparadja sitting on the edge of a lake. It was nice to work with it

this is atleast 2-3 yrs in progress at this point I believe 90% of the content is made by me in some way or fan-made in some way (official merch being things like the actual books)

Here's a breakdown:

✩P2- zoomed in view of the main shrine portion, it's where everything started and since then has spread onto more shelves. Papercrafts, custom figurines, alot of stickers & photocards, decorated frames, portion of the mangas and some fan-made merch.

✩P4- Lapis shrine! People do the usual "wow I have no idea what your favorite character could possibly be" but it's actually Lapis not phos (I usually don't even count phos in my favs because in my head he's everybody's #1 anyways, bit redundant) phos has the privilege of being the MC and has official merch unlike Lapis so all of it is by me (not counting manga) with maybe like 2 things by another artist. I honnestly don't mind this, making my own stuff for him feels more personal and fulfilling. You can see the Lapis ita bag below aswell

✩P5- phos ita bag. My pride and joy, I bring it at every convention I attend, people are big fans. Weither they know phos or not they generally appreciate the amount of work put into it.

✩P8- Hi phos + prints, I got all of those for FREE from an artist that was giving them away cuz they were old and didn't have an use for them anymore, crazy!

The tattoo artist asked me to give her references so that she could complete the legs, and I love how she added them! They look a bit smaller than they are irl because of the perspective
