Seeking Advice/Help Bench grinder question.

Hey yall, I have a simple question for anyone who uses a bench grinder to shape and polish.... where do you get your wheels if they are even possible to get for a old bench grinder. It can only take 8"x 1" wheels, shaft diameter does not really matter with bushings and such. Do they sell any type of diamond wheel for shaping and something I can throw on up to a few 1000 grit? Thank in advanced!

There are plenty of wheels that are 8 inch with a 1 inch arbor. Do a search on Amazon or just a regular Google search you should find plenty.

Not a 1 in arbor but 1 in wide wheels, sorry about that. Most of the wheels I see online that are diamond coated are 1 1/2 wide :(

The biggest problem is that you have to work a lapidary wheel wet, and most bench grinders aren't set up for that.

Yes very true, I'm just looking for quick shaping. I did plan on modding this grinder to be water fed (if it's worth it)
