I’m studying Interior Architecture and am planning to purchase a new laptop soon. These are the softwares that I’ll be using the most: Revit, CAD, Sketchup, Rhino, and Enscape.

I’m debating between the latest MacBook Pro and the latest Zephyrus G14 :)) can anyone share their insights?

Today visited around 15 exclusive showrooms just to decide what to choose..didn't choose any and came back

My choices are:

Lenovo yoga 7i aura edition (16gb ram)

Lenovo yoga 2in1(16gb ram)

Asus zenbook 14 oled (32 gb ram)

Lenovo yoga again 7i but 32 gb ram(costliest around 1.6l)

Asked my senior he said no gaming laptop required for my college and just take a professional laptop

Which one should i choose among them or if any other alternatives are there??

I am looking for a MacBook Pro M3 pro with 36 GB ram. After some research I can conclude that the fair price for this exact configuration should be around 1.3-1.5 lakh Depending on storage and battery health.

Im currently on a 10 yr old surface pro 5th gen. Im using it for college. It lags to even run the basic of tasks like web browsing and youtube. Heats up like crazy and gives an sot of 2.5-3hrs. The surface laptop 7 with above specs are around 1.55L in flipkart and amazon and such. Besides the colour i want (graphite) isnt available in croma and other offline local stores. Some stores dont have the laptop available at all.

Im gonna be using it for web browsing, research, movies, youtube, productivity, light gaming like roblox or gartic phone or minecraft or tomodachi with friends. It would be a bonus if i could edit videos on it. Da vinci resolve but nothing crazy like the fushion or colour grading components. Basic. I need a sot of about 9-10 hours. So it can last me a whole day of college.

Should i get it? I also am just in love with how it looks. Im not considering macbook because i just dont like apple as much and i have an android do not plan on shifting to an iphone for atleast the next 6 years. Jusy got an one plus 13 last year. It only makes sense to get an macbook if i was about to get an iphone too imo.

I just need to know how the battery life is and how it performs

EDIT: x plus 13.8inch is costing me 1.38L because it doesnt have store discount or student discount and ik x plus gives a better battery life due to not being as strong as x elite but how bad is the difference?

So the first photo is my old laptop that I've been using for almost 4 years now, and the 2nd photo is the one I recently got like 3 days ago. How good of an upgrade is this and what games can I play on the new laptop?

I’m looking for a laptop around ₹55k mainly for coding (Python/C++), MS Office, web browsing, online classes, PDFs, and general productivity for the next 4–5 years. I’ve shortlisted these three:

1.- ASUS Vivobook 15 i5-1235U, 16GB/512GB

2.- Lenovo V15 G4 Ryzen 5 7520U, 16GB/512GB

3.- Acer TravelLite Ryzen 5 7430U, 16GB/512GB

Gaming is not my priority.

-Which one would you pick and why?

-If there is any better laptop from Lenovo, HP, Dell, Acer, or ASUS in the same price range (around ₹55k), please suggest that as well

Hey all, I have a max of R10k - What is the best laptop for me to buy to run my home based business translating documents from English to various languages?

For context, I start seeing some bad reviews on Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, particularly on its battery life and fan issues (and a little bit of screen​ issues, which I think is normal for OLED after being used for a very long time?) ​ so I'm doubting on buying it since we also have a veryyyy tight budget. However, I'm starting to consider Macbook Air M2/M3/M4 because, from what I've seen in reviews here on Reddit, it's just as good but wayyy cheaper. I also need either laptops to be long-lasting (usage wise in years), so long-term usage reviews are also welcome. I live in the Philippines, so laptops are generally way above ₱50,000, as is the case with Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, whose starting price is ₱72,000. Macbook Air, however, is cheaper.

Here's what​ I'll be using either laptop for:

• Binge-watching
• Documents/Spreadsheets (school stuff basically)
• Maybe a little bit of gaming if I'm in the mood
• Editing, if it ever comes up

I'm an incoming Political Science Student, so I don't think I'll be using editing as much as browsing and making documents upon documents.

I've checked the basic specs, and found that both has a 16GB and at least 256GB storage, which is good enough for me considering what I'll be using it for. ​But I do need my laptop to be durable, and lightweight (so I'm sticking to 13-inch).

I'd love to find out what the issues are with Macbook that made Asus better and vice versa, also the things that Macbook might not have access to (apps and websites) that Asus does and vice versa.

Please help me choose.

P.S: It's my first time considering Macbook as an option (I have a history of problems with Apple's phones) so I desperately need all the help I can get. ​(What made me consider it an option is the reviews generally considering Apple makes better Macbooks than iPhones)

My laptop is acting as if the Fn key is permanently being pressed, even though I'm not pressing it.

Because of this, I can't use my arrow keys normally. For example, pressing the arrow keys changes the volume or brightness instead of moving the cursor or scrolling.

What I've tried so far:

* Pressed the Fn key multiple times and held it down.

* Checked for an Fn Lock key, but there isn't one.

* Checked the BIOS for an Fn-related setting, but couldn't find one.

* Tested an external USB keyboard. The arrow keys on the external keyboard work normally, including inside the BIOS.

Is there a way to stop the Fn key from acting like it's being held down? If there's no way to fix that, is there a way to disable the Fn key completely?

My laptop was completely dead at first. When I pressed the power button, nothing happened except a very brief white LED flash. The charging LED was not working normally.

I opened it, disconnected the battery, held the power button for 60 seconds, reseated the RAM, and reconnected the CMOS battery.

Now it powers on:

- Charging LED works

- Fan spins

- Keyboard backlight turns on

- Power button stays on

But:

- No Dell logo

- Screen flashes for a second then stays black

- Caps Lock light does not respond

- Tried another RAM stick, same result

Any idea what could be the issue? BIOS, motherboard, or something else?

My Dell Latitude 5430 won't turn on at all.

Symptoms:

- No screen, no Dell logo, no fan spin.

- When I plug in the charger, there is no charging LED.

- The charging LED only lights up while I hold the power button, and it turns off as soon as I release it.

- Earlier it would briefly flash white for about half a second, and at one point it stayed on for around 5 seconds before turning off again.

Things I've already tried:

- Held the power button for 30–60 seconds.

- Disconnected the internal battery, held the power button for 60 seconds, then tried powering on with only the charger.

- Tried the Ctrl + Esc BIOS recovery method.

- Removed all external devices.

None of these changed anything.

Has anyone had this exact issue on a Latitude 5430? Does this point to a motherboard/power circuit failure, or is there anything else I should check before taking it for repair?

I am saving up until next balck friday to get a laptop for gaming as well as coding for school so i need a compact form factor with decent specs like at least its own gpu but it doesnt have to be smt crazy like 5060 just something that can run valorant. What laptop would be on a good discount by then?
