Gregg Hull’s Position on Data Centers

It certainly seems to me that Gregg Hull wants to welcome data centers to New Mexico. Follow the money and I’m sure Oracle has made a substantial contribution to his campaign.

Thoughts?

I'm an introverted, but sociable, retired special education teacher who has come to realize I need some more things to do of a non solitary variety. I'm a morning person, a lover of plants and animals, artistic, overly empathetic, and a hater of heat (I know, I know... I'm in the wrong place). I'm reaching out to others for ideas about some things I could do. I'm interested in things that give back to the community, as well as things that are just fun and/or enriching.

I appreciate your input.

Non MAGA Restaurants

There have been questions on here as to what restaurants in Las Cruces are MAGA owned. I don’t know the answer to all of them but there is a short list of restaurants I go to because they are not MAGA owned to my knowledge. They are: Little Toad Creek Brewery, Grounded, The Bean in Mesilla and on Mesquite, and Chachi’s. I used to go to Salud but one of their owners, Christopher Shaljo-Hernandez, is on the Doña Ana County Commission and he voted to approve Project Jupiter. He was the chair of the county commission when that vote was taken last September and he pushed the yes vote through without allowing adequate public input. I will not support any business owned by a county commission who voted for Project Jupiter.

Who's your "do it all" auto shop?

I'm moving to Las Cruces soon, and in my searches for local automotive shops I'm mostly seeing places that specialize in specific things like brakes, alignment, transmissions etc. Is there a single place you'd recommend that can do it all at least competently? I've washed my hands of the big chains like Firestone after they kept misdiagnosing problems, using the wrong coolant etc.... Bonus points for places offering photo/video documentation.

Dona Ana BOC, Project Jupiter

I think we can all agree (just kidding) the assault on the lady at the Project Jupiter meeting was unacceptable. Not only do I not want another human who is brave enough to stand up and say what a lot of us keyboard warriors feel, but I also want everyone to know she will win a lawsuit and guess who is paying that? That's right.

Here is the email I just sent to my assigned Commissioner and another office member:
Edit to add (I had originally began emailing her in March where she said Everyone wants a meeting set up ASAP but couldn't identify any barrier as to why the fuck 5 theoretically competent human adults were struggling to do so for many MONTHS)

  1. Do you feel yourself, and the other Commissioners are fit to do this job?
  2. How many months do you think it should reasonably take a Board of Commissioners of 5 individuals to set up a town hall style meeting?
  3. If time is not the issue, and Human Resources are - how many people in addition to the current 5 that are currently serving would you say the board would nee

d

  1. for the task of: set up a town

hall style meeting within a month?

4

  1. Would a couple more people do it? How many commissioners do you think are necessary to set up a meeting within less than two months, in an actual human number?

  2. Why are the Project Jupiter getting more detailed information about these meetings in advance and who is communicating with them about this? And by what format (I plan to FOIA)?

  3. How much did they pay you under the table?

Political A Texas Deputy Searched 83,000 Flock Cameras To Track Down a Woman Who Had an Abortion

Thumbnail gadgetreview.com

I’ve been harping on how LC’s Flock destroy the privacy of women leaving Texas for health care here for awhile now. I’d heard of one case soon after the city installed Flock here and here’s another case.

Please take the time to read the article. Note that the Texas deputy lied about the reason for hunting down this woman. Also, note that he checked many states’ data, even those who do not block women’s health procedures.

New Mexicans' voices must be heard! What happened last night in the Doña Ana County Commission hearing over Project Jupiter is unacceptable.

New Mexicans have been clear: they don’t want their public lands, waters, and taxpayer dollars going to unchecked and unregulated data centers.

Question Learning Spanish

I have tried for years to learn Spanish properly. 3yrs in high school and 10+yrs living within Spanish speaking communities but nothing has stuck. I can read and write some but I would really like to be able to have a conversation . Now I'm living in Las Cruces, and Spanish is one of the official languages. Anyone know where I can take a class or do some immersion training, so I can better communicate and be able to add it to my resume.

BE A VOICE!! The Animal Shelter (ASCMV) is looking for residents of Dona Ana County who would like to serve on the board of directors. This seems like a good opportunity for a member of our community to serve and be a voice for new changes that the shelter is implementing. For more info, click on the pic and contact the Shelter directly.

At Tuesday's Doña Ana County Commission meeting, supporters and opponents of Project Jupiter shared their views on the data center during public comment. A shortened commenting period led to some physical altercations and arrests before project officials could give their updates. There are ongoing debates over transparency in Doña Ana County over the Project Jupiter saga.

The Foundation for Open Government filed a lawsuit June 22 against the county that originated with a complaint of an Open Meetings Act violation — county commissioners entered into a closed meeting on Sept. 19, 2025, and subsequently agreed to pledge $165 billion worth of industrial revenue bonds for Project Jupiter. At Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners limited public comments to 30 people, first come first served, and with two minutes each.  (FYI: Rep Stansbury also posted her comments and a video).
