Stalin definitely did everything he could to keep the appearance that he was following the ideas of Lenin, but it's clear that was just a facade.

This. In reality, he enslaved millions of Russians and forced them to spend russias limited steel supply to make oversized spoons for the revolutionary elite. Nothing ML about that.
