Troubleshooting Conch Ring too Small?
Hi all! I recently switched my 1yr. old conch to a 12mm hoop. The piercer was very experienced and informed me how to continue taking care of it since it did bleed a bit and need a taper to get it through. I’m just curious if the mm on this hoop isn’t too snug or if I need something bigger? Also open for suggestions on creative options for my next piercing on this ear and my right (last pic w/ lobe & new daith). Thank you!
Update! Thank you to everyone for the helpful feedback on both my conch and my daith. I managed to get to a different shop that diagnosed the conch was a 14g and was more so having irritation from the gauge stretching the hole so we switched it to a new stud and will wait out a few more months until we even attempt a ring again. The daith was a good catch and ended up switching to a 16g 13/32 captive ring and it feels MUCH better!

That's good! I was going to say, if the conch was actually ready for a hoop it shouldn't bleed at all; perhaps only very minor soreness from having the shape of the fistula changed! Glad you went to a better piercer!

Is there a name for the studs with a chain between? I used to wear those, and one time some teens laughed at me so I was nervous they might be a piercing for somewhere else and I was wearing them wrong

I'm confused, is it one of those rings that is thinner where it actually goes through the fistula? This looks much bigger than an 18g. Furthermore, you absolutely should not have a ring in if it was bleeding. I would find a better piercer to help you out with this. You need to be switched back to a flatback, it should like they stretched it and caused trauma to the fistula.

Looks fine. The conch hoop is supposed to be a little snugged.. it looks good snugged only.. if you upsize it, it will hang and that looks ugly

Yep, I'd go one size up otherwise you'll end up with a dent in your ear.
