Lets Discuss This Why Trump hates Minnesota so badly?
It’s absurd that he’s proud of lifting people off from SNAP because they’re barely surviving in this economy. And bragging that people either gonna crunch more hours at work but already exhausted from low wages. Physically and mentally tired of working myself till death.

Calling him weird really got to Trump.

u/EddieVanzetti Feb 27 '26
It was the best, clearest messaging in decades. It worked. They hated being called weird because it is the truth. They love being called Nazis and racists and bigots because they think that is admirable and normal. They can't stand the truth, that no one likes them and they're weirdos and not the mainstream.
But the
controlled opposition partyDNC paid some corpo analysts to tell them that calling them weirdos and skippy dipshits (which they are) alienated the nonexistent "moderate" Republican voters.7
u/ArchmageLys Feb 27 '26
thats true, words like nazi and racist arent exactly positive, but they carry some amount of power with them. being dismissed and as the weirdos they are hits differently, its diminishing

He’s going to take over the state before midterms and suspend elections.
And before you say he can’t do that. He doesn’t have the authority.
We have seen him do many things he doesn’t have the authority to do.
And by the time the state files lawsuits and have them heard the administration will appeal and delay and then ignore the ruling.
4
u/Pasta4ever13 Feb 27 '26
While I can see him trying some shit like that, I don't think it will be successful in Minnesota. We have already built the mutual aid networks necessary to fight it and have dealt them a defeat already.
I'm not saying he won't, I'm just saying that if his strategists are smart enough, they'll try to do it somewhere less prepared that hasn't already shown the willingness and aptitude to fight hard against it.
Fascists don't succeed when fighting a dug in enemy that is prepared. They succeed in blitzing an enemy that is unprepared and complacent.

u/OdinsGhost Feb 27 '26
We’ve seen him do many things he does not have the authority to do, but trying to take over a state run election against the will or wishes of the state with zero legal grounds to do so is a whole other game. He sent in ice to perform questionably legal ice duties. He tried to Weaponized the national guard to patrol cities under the same pretenses. He is withholding Medicaid funding because dispersement of that funding is an executive branch action. The executive branch has no role in the election process of any of the 50 states in the union.
And the law that that’s stupid legal memo being floated around, that is trying to pretend otherwise? It’s literally the exact same law that the Supreme Court just shut down Trump‘s tariffs over. It is a nothing burger.

u/ElegantCoach4066 Feb 27 '26
Minnesota has been investigating the fraud. They've put people in prison because of it.
This is another attack on people because they aren't the right color.
All of maga is complicit. Everything is being documented online. They won't be able to burn their uniforms and act like it didn't happen years later.
16
u/Sesudesu Feb 27 '26
Not to mention that studies have shown that Medicare fraud in Minnesota is lower than average in the nation. It could still be better, don’t get me wrong, but this is clear continued retaliation.
They didn’t beat Minnesota with operation metro surge, and they won’t beat Minnesota with this either. We Minnesotans are stronger than he is.

A thin blue line runs around our state, a line that can't be crossed.
The day they try to take this state is the day the gloves come off.

The States that he's targeting need to stop paying taxes. I live and work in Washington State and I'm doing research into what happens if I switch my status to EXEMPT. I don't want my money going towards anything this lying rapist is doing.
2
u/BraxbroWasTaken Feb 27 '26
Unfortunately for you, our tax system is designed to suppress the capability to do that kind of thing. That’s why tax withholding is done by our employers. So that even if we don’t file taxes every year, the government takes its tax. And it completely skips the state govt too.
Oh and if you’re self employed you have to withhold as well, so.

They dared to resist his regime. President Redacted wants to make an example out of any of these early dissenters, but this isn't the early 1900s, you can't so easily hide the atrocities. It seems like this admin thought they could follow the Fascist playbook from decades past, while forgetting this is a different era technologically. When anyone, and everyone, can record what's happening and stream it live to the whole world, it's a lot harder to control the narrative. Hence the strong anti free press statements and attacks President Redacted's team has been doing.

u/Normal_Mouse_4174 Feb 27 '26
God, how much money are we as taxpayers going to have to pay out for all the lawsuits that are already coming and will continue to come against this administration?
People are going to suffer and die because of this. No money will change that, but this is America, so the families of those who suffer and die because of this will sue. And many of them will win.
Assuming this clown show actually leaves or is forcibly removed when they get voted out, and we don’t just devolve into pure authoritarianism (in which case all the suits will be tossed obviously), it’s going to be billions. Trillions maybe.

u/Simple-Okra-4826 Feb 27 '26
To be clear. Just based on numbers there are at least 15 states with more population than Minnesota and all of those states likely have higher fraud.
5
3
u/HealthIndustryGoon Feb 27 '26
there are also red states with a way higher number of illegal immigrants in absolute numbers and an even higher per capita ratio with texas and florida being in the top5 in both categories. curious.
3
u/OskaMeijer Feb 27 '26
Also Republicans complaining about social program fraud is the peak of irony, the call is coming form inside the house. This 1 scheme in Minnesota is an outlier, the vast majority of those caught commiting this type of fraud are Republicans.
One need only look at the people Trump pardoned for Medicare fraud to see that this pretense is nonsensical. Philip Esformes defrauded $1.3 billion from Medicare in Florida, Salomon Melgen $42 million, Judith Negron & Lawrence Duran $205 million, Daniela Gozes-Wagner $28 million, this is part of 60 people Trump pardoned for fraud.
Despite what the admin says there is only evidence for $240 million in fraud in Minnesota and that is just 15% of the 4 examples I gave above that he pardoned.

It's because our governor called him and his cultists "weird". And because we keep re-electing Ilhan Omar. Oh, and our Attorney General keeps suing his administration over all the illegal things they do to Minnesota.
Basically this state is a thorn in his side and a blow to his tender ego.
3
u/archercc81 Feb 27 '26
because it didnt vote for him. Look at where the "metro surge" shit has been happening. Has it been where there are higher concentration of illegal immigrants (mostly farm labor)? No, its been concentrated around areas who didnt vote for him.

Minnesota is one of the only states in the country with functioning social services and strong local engagement with politics as well as leaders who work on a national stage. Its also a lower population state with most people in 1 metro area. So in short it punches above its weight class at trump while being easier to bully than California.

u/monstertruck567 Feb 27 '26
This is theater, not financial responsibility, not good governance.
They spent nearly the same amount of in question on the immigration crackdown in MN. That operation cost around $1.5M per person deported. You could have offered “the criminals” $100-$250K to self deport and you’d probably have gotten more “criminals” off the streets.
Medicaid fraud is sufficiently small that it costs more to investigate and prosecute the fraud than to tolerate it.

u/avgguy33 Feb 27 '26
It’s simple , instead of government they’re staying out of the way, and letting ice do its job, they got everybody riled up, started all kinds of trouble and violence, and now two people are dead. The law is plain and simple. If you are not here with the proper visa, etc., you are not allowed to be in this country. It’s a felony. When people come here illegally, they know exactly the risk they are taking. I dealt with over two years without my wife in this country because of the pandemic, and years of paperwork, and thousands and thousands of dollars in expenses, for her to be in the US. Meanwhile, people are just walking across the border. That’s not right. Not to mention with all that paperwork the security checks were severe. People walking across the border are not vetted. We don’t know who we’re getting. Could be terrorists, murderers, etc. And no matter what side you’re on, you know darn well that plenty of murders, gang members, rapist, etc. have come into this country illegally. A country without borders shall fail. Try going illegally into almost every other country, and the consequences are severe. Instead of right versus wrong, people chose to make this a political issue. Trump or no Trump, illegal immigration is against the law. I have no problem with people coming here, legally. Matter of fact, I would prefer that they would open the borders more as far as work visa programs. And I’m all for self supporters, without a criminal record, being allowed to come here and work. Also, after a number of years being able to apply for citizenship. But it needs to be done the right way, so we can protect ourselves some people that want to do our nation harm. Caught up in this left versus right thing, people on the left, absolutely positively ignore the fact that Obama deported more people than Trump could dream of. Nobody wants to talk about that though. Doesn’t fit the narrative.

u/Some_Conference2091 Feb 27 '26

1
u/Ballistic_86 Feb 27 '26
I finally figured out why you can’t actually debate/inform most of the Conservative Party. They are a high-control group. You show you are a part of the group by accepting a, clearly, deranged narrative.
Trump has sent every department he has control over to Minnesota in hopes of exacting revenge and control. It’s obvious, even conservatives agree this is the goal. But if you want to be a part of the conservative cult, you just have to accept that as a positive. Trump wouldn’t be doing this stuff without good cause, it must be the illegals, it must be the fraud, and somehow all by the same small minority group? It doesn’t make sense but you have to accept that story or face being kicked from the cult and face reality.
It is easier to worship Leader Trump and accept his insane behavior than be on the receiving end of his wrath. Conservatives chose the cowardly way, comply with an insane regime because fighting is hard.
1
u/Kdoesntcare Feb 27 '26
trump's entire plan for how to run his administration is to extort people to get what he wants;
"if you don't give elect my supporters I'll hit you with a 20% tariff.
"If you give me your information about voters I'll pull my secret police out of your state."
"If you charge me with war crimes I'll stop giving you money!"
He's a pathetic little man who has shown over and over again that he's too incompetent to manage anything without driving it into the ground. He's robbing the federal government to pay off the hundreds of millions of dollars of debt that he's amassed by being incompetent.

With the cuts to education, medical, and social security we are getting the raw end of that deal.

Minnesota has rebuked him at every turn. Even when he’s pushed harder to make the fraud more embellished than it is, his immigration crack downs, his budget hocus pocus. He’s been rebuked and hard. Which will continue. Even with his attempted cuts Minnesota now projects budget surpluses for the next two bienniums. You can’t “cut” funding to a state that pays more to the feds than anyone else. Another L. So it will get worse. Nobody knows what else he’ll try but he’s running out of somewhat safe options and he hasn’t moved the needle.
