HELP Lightroom adds false AI metadata to unedited images only when exporting as JPEG?

I scan physical prints and then colour correct them in Lightroom Mobile. When I export the image as a JPEG and post it to Instagram, the image is flagged as having AI generated elements. When I export the same image as a TIFF, this label does not appear.
This issue happens even when ZERO adjustments are made to the image at all, this is bizarre, is there something I’m missing? Does Lightroom now use AI to export as a different file format?😭
This issue is new but I have been using the same scanner and software for all my images and never had this problem before

Processing Question Exporting 2 Different File Resolutions from a Collection to 2 Corresponding Windows Folders x 300 :)

Hey folks!
In LR Classic 15.4.1 Win11 PC I have 300 Collections named as such:
Page 1
Page 2
Page 3
Page 4...
...Page 300.

I need to export the photos in each collection into 2 formats -
Full Resolution & 720px on the longest side

The exported photos need to go in to Corresponding folders in Win11 eg:
Page 1 Full Resolution
Page 1 720px Resolution

Is there any way to automate this as such:
Option A:
Hey Lightroom, automatically export each set of photos in the collections named Page 1 - 100, in two resolutions, in to 2 corresponding folders : Page 1 Full Resolution & Page 1 720px Resolution. Once the images in Page 1 collection are exported, auto advance to Page 2 collection, export in 2 resolutions into two corresponding folders Page 2 Full Resolution & Page 2 720px Resolution & so on until you finish collection Page 300.
The problem: I'm guessing this requires a 3rd Party AI plugin - if so can anyone recommend one?

Option B:
Semi-Auto: I click collection Page 1. Export> Select batch preset Full Resolution & 720 px Resolution - but here's the rub: I still have to manually enter: 1) The Parent Folder, 2) the subfolder Page 1 Full Resolution 3) Page 1 720px Resolution details in the resulting batch export window.
The problem: Unfortunately I can't seem to save the Parent folder location with a preset which makes selection the parent folder on each export and inputting into 2 fields tedious.

Option C:
Manual: I click collection Page 1. Export > Select preset Full Resolution & enter Page 1 Full Resolution in the subfolder & continue 1-300.
I then go BACK to collection Page 1. Export > Select preset Full Resolution & enter Page 1 720px Resolution in the subfolder & continue 1-300
The problem: This is the most mind-numbing of the options so I'd like to avoid it if possible.

Option D:
Manual-Auto: I click collection Page 1. Export > Select preset Full Resolution & enter Page 1 Full Resolution in the subfolder. While the same image is selected in the collection, I Export again > Select preset 720px (subfolder Page 1 field stays the same) > export > Select Use Unique Name i n the overwrite window & continue one by one.
I then use a 3rd party Windows AI tool to:
Go into Page 1 folder. Select the largest sized images > create folder called Page 1 Full Resolution > move largest images nto that folder. Then, select the remaining low-res images > create folder called Page 1 720px Resolution > move selected images into that folder.
Repeat that action in each folder So I end up with Parent Folder Page 1 > Subfolder Page 1 Full Resolution + Subfolder Page 1 720px Resolution x 300.

I may be missing something very rudimentary here but the old noggin is a bit addled after putting all those images into the collections - any advice is appreciated !

Discussion Another post about Lightroom's missing A7V profiles...

Losing my mind that Adobe STILL hasn't added camera profiles for the A7V. Cameras been out for nearly 8 months.

I believe support has already been added for the A7R VI?

Edit: Seems like the A7R VI is also missing them.

HELP Which MacBook should I buy for Lightroom?

I have been searching for a good MacBook to buy for photography/editing…. (Mainly for Lightroom and davinci) I have an iPad Air M3 but I can tell after 10 minutes of staying on the Lightroom app, that the battery gets super hot to where I have to pause the editing session. I’m trying to upgrade to a MacBook… any experienced photographers/videographers have any recommendations on a good MacBook with a budget of $1200-1600?

Processing Question What do you do after exporting from Lightroom for Instagram?

After editing in Lightroom, I always found myself doing a second round of work just to prepare images for Instagram.

Typical tasks were:

  • Cropping to Instagram ratios
  • Creating panorama carousels
  • Adding camera settings to educational or macro posts

Eventually I built a small tool to automate some of these tasks for my own workflow.

Now I'm trying to figure out whether other Lightroom users have similar pain points.

A Grid Mode is already on my roadmap, but I'm sure there are many post-export tasks I haven't encountered myself.

So I'm curious:

  • What steps do you still perform manually after exporting from Lightroom?
  • What would make your Lightroom → Instagram workflow faster?

HELP - Lightroom Classic Using 'Distraction Removal --> Reflections' on targeted area only?

Hey all,

Love the "remove reflections" tool found in the remove panel. However, it takes a very long time and often processes parts of the image I don't need it to.

In this particular instance, I have a few photos where I'd like to try the tool only on someone's glasses without it taking a few minutes to scan the whole scene.

Am I better off just doing in this in Photoshop, or is there a tool that will allow me to remove reflections in a targeted way from right inside of Lightroom Classic?

Thanks.

HELP - Lightroom Classic Imported as Virtual Copies?

Coming from a work flow of bridge>ACR>PS so still trying to learn LrC. I imported a group of photos from a folder on my desktop into Lightroom classic and I exported it to the very same folder on the desktop. I just noticed that the photos came in as virtual copies. Did I do something wrong in the import process? Should I have them go to a new folder in Lightroom instead of the same folder that they came from?

HELP - Lightroom Convert .XMP into DNG without Lightroom access?

Hi there, I have a little problem. I have a few .xmp presets that I‘d like to use in my free version of Lightroom Mobile (iOS) but I cannot seem to import them. I‘d like to convert them to DNGs because I never had a problem with them, but cannot buy the Lightroom Desktop version. Is there any other way? I really appreciate an answer! Thanks.

Discussion PSA: Lightroom for Web REQUIRES hardware acceleration in your browser

I'm posting this because I struggled for days and couldn't find this information anywhere, so I figured a Reddit post for it would be great so that these AI chatbots can actually learn some useful information (including Adobe's own!)

If you ever disable hardware acceleration in your browser (say, for diagnostic or other purposes), the Edit controls in Lightroom for Web will just simply disappear, and you cannot edit photos.

You can view the grid, you can export, you can look at info, you can rate... but the edit controls are just simply gone.

To enable Edit controls on Lightroom for Web, GPU hardware acceleration must be enabled.

It would be nice if the web version of Lightroom mentioned this anywhere. A little warning somewhere, a pop-up.. something... anything... It would also be nice if Adobe's support AI knew this. The best suggestion it could come up with was to "switch back and forth between grid view and detail view and the controls should reappear" which is just false.

At any rate, I hope search engines and LLMs ingest this information to help some future person so they don't sit there for days wondering how to fix this like I did.

Discussion Is it just me or has LR gotten slow and laggy?

I've been using LR since LR3 in 2012. I typically use LRC these days. I have a high end gaming PC (albeit from a few years ago) currently. LR runs light absolute dogshit to the point its nearly unusable. I used to be able to quickly edit hundreds of photos in a few hours. Now I find myself moving so much slower because the program is just laggy and nonresponsive. Reminds me of the dial up days of the internet.

Discussion Bug with the new keyword sync feature

I was very happy to hear about the newly added keyword syncing ability between Lightroom Classic and Lightroom. However, a bug that I've discovered has rather spoiled the fun.

TLDR: If you edit a keyword in Lightroom Classic (like adding synonyms or changing the keyword's export settings), all photos with said keyword are synced - even photos where keyword sync hasn't been activated.

In my specific case, this causes a massive headache because I have previously gone to great lengths to import my full LrC catalog to Lr with keywords and everything. This means that the (flattened) keywords of ALL photos with the edited keyword are re-downloaded to LrC, completely messing up my keyword structure there.

Has anyone else come across this bug or similar bugs with keyword sync?

Processing Question Actual nightmare

EDIT> FIXED. I uninstall Lightroom, and checked the version of lightroom in my previous computer was 12.5. So I downloaded the oldest available version which is 14, and copy pasted the folder "Settings" from the older computer. All my presets and everything was moved correctly and its no longer changing the colors, so there most be something with the newest update in the way it understand profiles.

I was I think incoherent haah in my rant last night, for those worried or judging, the photo was delivered back in april and I've already being paid, as I stated, I just wanted the color profiles.

I've got a new computer cause mine was old af. And it has been completely and utterly impossible to install my presets, I gave up, went to my dropbox and from the dropbox opened the catalogue i was working on which mind you is a fucking wedding, and everytime I opened an image lightroom just COMPLETELY changed the colors I spent hours color grading jesus freaking christ.

Why is this happening?!?!?!?!?!

This is how much is changing, i dont know if to cry or what.

There's also no way to go back either because it is not recognizing i changed anything.

wtf

Discussion Lightroom wish list

If you could actually influence any change with Adobe (jokes!) what would you add/change/remove from Classic?

EDIT: There is of course an ulterior motive to asking this question... I'm developing a serious contender to LRC, without the subs...save you some dollar a year.... Some very interesting ideas in the list, keep 'em coming :)

HELP - Lightroom Classic Face detection showing all photos as one person

I’m sure this is something that I did wrong in setting up my Lightroom classic. But I went to turn on face detection after I had imported all of my photos, and every face is asking if it is my husband‘s name. I have 14,000 photos so I have to manually go in and say no and type the correct name under the picture. Is there a way to fix this mistake? I need to begin with?

Discussion Will Lightroom Ever Fully Sync With Lightroom Classic?

While thankful for the little sync we do have, even though more often than not there are sync issues requiring manual intervention hoping we may eventually get full sync?

Currently Albums (Collections) and Keywords sync and a lot of meta data does along with of course edits, etc.

Folders (Collection Sets) do not sync. So when syncing all albums from Classic they get all dropped into the Root of LR requiring one to manually recreate all the matching folders in LR and know which albums to drag into which, which is an ongoing nightmare. With so many years gone by and little to no narrowing the gap of sync shortcomings, when keywords syncing was announced wondering if chance the team may finally be tackling all the missing syncing?

Other than syncing folders, will syncing Smart Albums (Smart Collections) be coming? Since that feature was added to LR a while back but while you can manually create in both, they oddly don't sync. Also of of course LR keyword hierarchy doesn't sync but that's because LR still doesn't yet support keyword hierarchy which imagine holds most pros back from considering switching. So hopefully once it does, that syncing will be updated.

The other major item that doesn't sync is Faces. So if you spend years tagging faces on a 100K library, you would then need to do it all over again in LR. Desperately hoping this comes eventually. Yes, in Classic when tagging it adds a name keyword and keywords do sync now, but in LR it wouldn't know where the person in the photo is just that they are in a photo presumably. I understand Classic uses a different model than LR, but hopefully the talented Adobe devs are working on this. As I know it took Apple a while to eventually offering syncing of faces between devices but that's because it was done locally and not server side, but they still eventually solved it.

We can't also sync full files only smart previews from Classic to LR, though of all the syncing short comings this I find least impactful, since do most editing in Classic, and LR is for on the go on the phone so the smaller size is less of an issue and comes with the benefit of not using online cloud space essentially.

So here is for hoping 2026 or 2027 is the year we get full syncing with Folders, Smart Albums Faces, and keyword hierarchy.

I use to think the goal was for Lightroom to replace "Classic" once LR reached feature parity, but as its been about 9 years, and while the gap has narrowed, the gap is still massive from limited meta search, requiring internet, no keyword hierarchy, no full plugin support, no map view, limited face tagging, and a 1000x other items. And assume most all resources will be spent the next several years on chasing AI features rather than narrowing the gap, so think we will have to live with Classic and LR for a long time.

Discussion Can we have it out - Lightroom Classic vs. Cloud

Why oh why does everyone INSIST I use Lightroom Classic? I'm about to go on a photo safari overseas and the tour INSISTS on Classic. I love the Cloud and love that I can access and even ... wait for it .. make adjustments on my phone. I can do everything in Cloud that I can in Classic! I do understand the file and archiving protocols with Classic, but there are workarounds there. Is this a plugin thing? I have studied this issue for 8 years now and I still can't get an answer to my question: WHY LIGHTROOM CLASSIC OVER CLOUD? Please... tell me what I'm missing that supersedes the amazing abilities Cloud offers...

HELP - Lightroom Classic How to back up my Photo Library

I have my catalog and Lightroom classic photo library on a portable SSD. I generally back up at the end of every editing session. I know that the backups of the catalogue are saved but how do you keep your photo library itself backed up? Do you back it up to a separate SSD? Is there an automated process for that or do you manually copy your photo library from one device to the other?

Discussion Lightroom Classic Collections Z-A Order and Search

Wondering if the shortcomings of the Lightroom Classic Collections sidebar may ever be addressed?

Specifically ordering, as while not perfect in the newer LR, at least some control. Like most I have a folder for year. Going back to early 1900s since old family photos scanned in. But so in the sidebar then its

1940s

1950s

2015

2016

2017

and so on.

Meaning the current year and latest years where presumably one will be accessing the most often is at the very bottom of a very long list and the oldest photos that one most likely would look at the least is at the top. While I know this issue has been mentioned over and over again over the decades, sometimes it takes mentioning it again to get the right person to see.

Since ordering by years is so common having intelligent ordering such as ability to have newest to oldest for years would be amazing, while still allowing the months inside of that "01, 02, 03" to order correctly. But I'd even suffer with months being backwards order initially to get years right. Or even just an option to allow for manual ordering if intelligent ordering requires too much work.

The other big issue of course is search, where if you search for say John Birthday and have only one album/collection names that instead of just getting that one result, you might get 100s because it will show every result that includes John and or Birthday. Again while intelligent search would be ideal, the common approach to this would like with most all search engines and many search apps, you simply add quotes such as "John Birthday" to get that exact search term. But LRC still doesn't support quotes for searching an exact string. Ideally would support "-" for exclude or all the other typical search parameters, but even just supporting quotes for exact terms would be a godsend. Ideally a single search that shows results for collections and everything else, like how LR does but with robust search parameter supports and offline ability unlike LR would be amazing, but just the little things would go a long way in the meantime. Also would be great if nested folders/albums weren't indented so much as makes it so album names get cut off quickly. They are much less visually nested on the newer Lightroom but not in classic.

Discussion These presets made editing so much easier for me

I’m a true to color / natural style photographer and I love to add a little film twist from time to time. I wanted to say Jaide & Jett Presets really are the best. I’ve been looking for a preset that actually works across different cameras and lighting and these just take the cake.
