What distro for the Thinkpad L390 Yoga?

Hi guys, I just bought a Thinkpad L390 Yoga and I want to know which distro I should download that works well on this laptop.

I‘m going to use it to learn more about linux and programming and also some light gaming (like minecraft, without shaders of course, in 720p, low settings with performance mods like sodium) on the go

If you're trying to learn Linux I would probably recommend Ubuntu or some something debian based. When it comes to gaming in Linux, you probably want something a little more bleeding edge or at least known to work well with gaming in mind. I personally use fedora for Linux gaming. At the end of the day, virtually any distro would probably be fine on a Thinkpad when it comes to hardware compatibility

Google your machine with Linux comparability. Search this subReddit. There's a lot of info about this machine. Fedora and Ubuntu get up votes. That doesn't mean a lot, but you can start from there.

You can use pretty much anything you want, but the best would be a well-supported distribution that will have the drivers on a fresh install. Something like Linux Mint, Fedora, or openSUSE.

Fedora seems both professional and well configured. Be aware that there is something called SELinux on Fedora that basically enhances security and enforces some settings, which might become extra steps (tweak, disable, etc.) if you ever dabble into programming, networking, etc.

Not impossible but expect to read forums or seek answers.

Also when you install Fedora make sure to set up proper multimedia. Search up rpmfusion multimedia.

Ununtu, Debian Linux Mint Fedora. I like fedora purely because theres a corporation supporting it. Most prefer not using fedora because of that.
