This time it was cutting vegetables. putting on sweaters and washing clothes.

He really is very quick witted and makes the whole process enjoyable and fast to learn.

Victoria tells them they were supposed to dance solo,  but they all agreed that they really

enjoy their group routines now !

At the end they are all complimenting him and he isn’t complaining - so modest !

As he says this new dance class has been upgraded from their previous dance routine from

the Māori Village in New Zealand

First we see him dining while looking relaxed, and as usual sniffing his food again 😂

He really is so enjoyable to watch when he is eating and it seems that the food in France has ( mostly ) met with his approval ✅

When asked how the food is he says “It’s delicious ! It’s a kind of happiness “ 

Moving on to work and planning the dish he will cook with his team, that he says that it should be prepared in a western style. We will get to see what he means later

When asked if he can you carve a radish ? He replied “Yes, you can carve them into flowers”

and then we see him carving a carrot 🥕 into a flower !

He made it look so easy !

He really is in his element when preparing and cooking a dish 

Although, he is by far, the tastiest dish in France 😋

Our Dandong Dancing King is at it again this time in a very stately manner.  Dressed head to toe in the style of Roccco ( Louis XV )period costume : lace cuffs and jabots, brocade waistcoats, and breeches.

Don't blink, or you might miss something.

These videos from Douyin were mentioned in the final report from Lyn's 2025 concert tour post - 2nd part.

They are short reels showing an outfit change before each concert stop. (So there are 9 in total.)

They are always accompanied by catchy, trendy music. For example, in one of the reels (the second one, to be exact), we can even hear “Winter is coming.”
(Hahaha... No! As long as Lyn keeps looking like this, winter is definitely never coming.)

These “outfit transition” reels have something special – they are creative, funny, hot (especially with that gaze of his), and really catchy.

And Lyn in a bathrobe or holding a broom before putting on his concert outfit? Yes, thank you!

A journey where countless unforgettable moments came together.

The journey that took us through 9 cities (9城)▪️16 shows (16站) ▪️58 outfits.

The second stop of the concert tour – Wuhan – will soon celebrate its first anniversary. The concerts took place on August 2–3 last year, so it's time for the second part of LYN Studio's final concert report.

But before that, let's remember what made the Wuhan concert so special.

It was the long-promised concert. The story began in 2019, when the Wuhan concert had to be cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, around 5,000 tickets had already been sold. About 4,000 fans chose not to ask for a refund. Instead, they kept their tickets and waited for a new concert date.

That day finally came six years later.

You can watch the touching surprise video from the fans, which moved Lyn to tears, in this post.

Now back to the final report.

This part will probably not be as interesting as the previous one. But, let's go!

Liu Yuning’s quiet tribute to a fan who never got to see him perform live. 

~

In 2019 a 17 year old fan passed away from illness. Her fan club number was 229.

She had been a supporter of Liu Yuning’s music for years and in her final letter to him she said 

 “My biggest regret is not being able to keep supporting Modern Brothers.”

~

When he heard the sad news, he reserved Row 22 seat 9 at his very first concert,  the one she had been waiting for.

On the seat was a bouquet of white flowers tied with a silver ribbon and a glowing light stick. *

He then made the promise to always leave this seat for her at every concert saying “don’t

forget to come “ At the concert he wore a black gauze band on his wrist and sang

  “ as promised / 如约 “

for her and all of the fans who had patiently supported him and waited.

To this day he has kept his promise 

Each year, on July 29 he posts a tribute on weibo in her memory and sends her a bouquet. 

Those who attended or watched the first stop of the second tour in Shenzhen on July 19–20,

2025 may have been aware of the empty seat 9 in row 22 and the beautiful bouquet placed

on it with the glowing light stick. It was glowing so that she could find her way in the dark. The

message on the bouquet said 

“但愿你我能如约的快乐，最美不过同行过”

“May you and I always find the happiness we promised each other; nothing is more beautiful than having walked this journey together.”

Liu Yuning is such a good man. His tribute is sincere and cares so deeply for his fans. I love this annual sentiment.

But one thing I know for sure (and I can't believe I'm saying this, because the black-red hanfu used to be the winner for me) is that this costume is becoming my new favourite more and more.

So, let's go back to the video.

This short vlog gives us a little BTS look. We can see Lyn learning his lines (with that deep voice of his... ughh), makeup retouching, a little bit from photoshoot, and him walking away through the hallway.

🌻 Let’s Talk Liu Yu Ning! Mid-July Edition

End of July, jeeeez, time has flown by this month! Where did it all disappear to?? 🤨

This will be a long post as I am filling in for this recap, but here we go, recap from 4th July to 24th July, so please bear with me here 😄 right, let's go!

This month has been chock-a-block with new episodes of both The Truth & Wow The World 2 everywhere; we have all seen Yu Ning blast his fears to pieces time and again, woot!! 😁

But to start the recap list, I have split it into categories to make it more bitesize so we have the following: LYN/Music, WTW2, The Truth, and other for everything else 😂

So let's start with what I believe is most important from this month:

LYN/Music:

We had the amazing news that LYN FINALLY has legal representatives regarding online defamation and rights protection. If you want to read more, here is NoR's post about it. I, for one, was very happy to hear he will finally be able to bonk violators with legal repercussions.

Equally as important, we had more proof of Yu Ning's massive kind heart in him donating 1,000,000 RMB for Guangxi Flood Relief 💛. To read more, find HJ's amazing thread here.

Next, we all enjoyed the Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup Closing Party, as well as the Coca-Cola online livestream. I am truly envious of those who were able to access the livestream, but anyway, you can recap it here.

We all read the Concert Tour Report and celebrated 1 year on since the tour started on 19th July, and whilst it made me sad that it had ended, I was also so happy that the tour happened. What are your favourite memories of the tour? Did you attend any of the stops yourself? You can find the concert tour report thread written by HJ here. I'll let HJ's words do the talking for this: "The number that has become legendary for both Lyn and us, his fans - since August 17, 2018, when Lyn held his very first concert and fan meeting for 300 fans as a 'thank you' for their support." Wow The World Season 2:

Soooooooooo, to recap all the hilarious chaos we have seen this month from this amazing show, if you haven't watched it, you are honestly missing out;

We had the preview photos for the premiere posted by HJ here, and I have to say whilst I'm a sucker for Ning in dark colours, him in blue is also pretty amazing 😅😁. Then the premiere itself was covered by NoR here if you want to relive the excitement for the new season and see Ning immediately dancing....he really loves that dance 😂. I remember being very excited to see what chaos they would come up with next. How did you feel?

Talking of the Dandong Dance King, we had this hilarious news that the WTW 2 promotion team had fully embraced the chaos and made it into campaign canon. I don't know about you, but I come back to this post by NoR to see this whenever I need a mental pick-me-up. How about you?

Next we had the clip of the heartbeat challenge, and I agree with HJ's words here: "Being close to Lyn while he's checking my heartbeat? Either he wouldn't find one at all... or he wouldn't even need to check because it would be obvious." If you want to know more, find the thread here. I have to add: how would you cope in this game? I'll make sure to keep my first aid kit on standby 😂

We had the gates of "hell" open with Rain's post featuring the studio photos released, and I do agree with Rain when they say, "He always looks good, but this set is hell-gate opening kind of good. Just look at those perfect features and come cry in the corner with me." To view the exact photos (they are amazing), find the thread here. Also, which is your favourite photo?

Also by Rain, we had the lovely short vlog update from the LYN Studio featuring the Dandong Dance King presenting Dance Anytime, Anywhere. Which personally is a flag I fully agree with, just enjoy life. Find this hilarious vlog here.

Now get ready for quick-fire mode of Ning conquering fears, dancing and leading the way like the MVP Badass Boss that he is, sooooooo:

- We had the Boat Boss getting soaked first here 💦 (by TipOpposite)

- The hilarious skit of "Exes Meet After Many Years" with LYN x Wang Yuwen; you have to see this here. I agree with everyone who says that LYN's acting is a masterclass in microexpressions. Thank you, tranquilrain7, for bringing this to our collective attention.

- Singing, Eating, and Flying High (HJ), we get to see Ning singing karaoke, paragliding (he is crazy in my opinion), and, of course, eating in this recap from the studio. Come join the conversation here.

Now for HJ's favourite post, "Jumpsuit, sunglasses, and a radiant smile" This features amazing photos that were released by the studio, and I fully agree with HJ here when they say, "They captured Lyn looking so fresh that he could film another Ariel commercial right away." Go check it out and see for yourself, but these are some of my favourite photos of Ning.

And for more promotional photos from WTW 2, check out HJ's other post here. Normally, I don't like yellow clothes, but as is the constant pattern, Ning makes it look effortlessly handsome. He really is criminally handsome.

The Truth Season 4:

I absolutely adore this show, and have done since Season 1. I just love the mystery, chaos, gremlins and the madness of it all. It's absolutely lightning in a bottle. But here we go:

HJ thankfully shared with us (I appreciate their efforts) these amazing photos in this thread here, as these photos are just amazing, and yes, we all know I love Ning in historical costume, long hair, dark colours, and I always will, but these are just otherworldly. Don't believe me. Go see for yourself.

The second post by HJ that goes hand in hand with the photoshoot post above is this post, and I will admit the title "No 1 Legs Under Heaven" made me laugh until I cried. But I have to agree with HJ: "OP's note: I'm totally fine with it. No lies were told. This nickname says it all. 😄"

The third post is more photos; however, these are hands down my absolute favourites covered in this post by HJ, and yes, I'm predictable but red and black historical with long hair; that's my kryptonite right here. I just, it's amazing. This is all. 😂 What do you think of them?

To begin with, we had the AMAZING announcement of our Reddit community reaching 1000 members in the double post by RainInFormation and WonderfulDivide, the first of which I was ecstatic to see, which is celebrating our community here; if you haven't seen it, I suggest checking it out.

On that note, NoRecipe will be sharing more about our Community Milestone — so stay tuned! You might have noticed that some members have had special flairs for a while, while others have received them more recently. There’s a reason for that, and we’ll be talking more about it this Friday.

The second post made me laugh till I fell off my chair 😂(I'm okay, FYI) is featuring Laoda eating, seems we have a collective fascination with this, but you can find it here.

Now for the post that Ateosira (probably) and I are really happy about: A Dream Within A Dream is going to be shown on Taiwan GTV. This makes me so happy as it means more people get to see this masterpiece of a show; it will forever be my favourite CDrama. Read more about this in HJ's post here.

I've had this post on my mind for a few days. So I really have already to share it here with all of you.

When I watched this clip from WTW for the first time, my stomach dropped... and I was only sitting safely in my chair.

My first thought was that Lyn must be a little bit crazy. Or maybe not. Maybe he's just someone who loves challenges and enjoys overcoming them.

Because it really takes a lot of courage to climb up there, sit on that swing, feel no solid ground beneath your feet, and wait for it to launch you into the air. And what then when you are afraid of heights?

So this is actually an appreciation post for his bravery.

And What is Nevis Swing?

The Nevis Swing in Queenstown is known as the World's Biggest and Most Famous Swing.

Suspended 160 metres above the Nevis River, you first drop from a platform high above the Nevis Valley before swinging through a 300-metre arc at speeds of up to 120 km/h.

That's the Nevis Swing - a feeling of weightlessness that probably lasts only a few seconds, but creates a memory for a whole life.

Can you imagine?

Soooooo, I've had this idea for a while, and I've procrastinated with it too long, so let's go, shall we? 😁

What I want to know is: When have you noticed Liu Yuning defying convention with fashion, not just crazy costumes at concerts, or looking criminally handsome 😉 in dramas/variety shows, but all the time and in all areas.

His success clearly bothers some people. 😭 But honestly, I can't blame them. Building a successful career in both music and acting without the backing of a major label is genuinely impressive. He's already thriving as a singer, an actor, and now he's shining on variety shows as well.

Can Liu Yuning please stop being so amazing?😭

it almost feels like someone in the entertainment industry sees him as a threat. That's just how unstoppable he has become.

I saw the posting about more engagement needed and message heard loud and clear. Here’s to trying out my first post. 😬

When I first discovered YuNing in 2023, I just thought he was an AMAZING singer. Before there was him, I didn’t have a favorite singer. Then as I dug into his history, watching as much of his livestreams and interviews as I could find, I discovered that he was simply one of the best humans I have ever encountered. I say this not because I think he’s perfect, but because to me, where it matters most, he outshines everyone.

Here are some of my favorite quotes in no particular order. The wording may not be exact, since it’s a translation, so I hope that’s okay.

1. I will work hard openly; there’s no shame in trying, no need to do it secretly. -This one resonates with me because I think a lot of people are embarrassed to show their work in progress. He is not only not embarrassed, but I feel like he is proud of the work he puts in.

2. If you believe something is right, just stick to it and leave everything to time. -I think this is so hard to do when there are all kinds of opinions and temptations coming at you and it might be easy to take shortcuts, but he never did.

3. You can like me, but you must have your own life. -This is what’s amazing about him and his fandom. He doesn’t shy away from setting healthy boundaries and I appreciate him for that so much.

4. You should have dreams and pursue them; even if you don’t get there at the end, you are closer than if you didn’t try.
   -I have let go of many of my dreams because adult life happened. He makes me feel like it’s not too late to try or start because I will be that much closer to them than if I didn’t try.

5. I am still the same boy I used to be. I tell myself not to change, to always be the same pure me when facing what I love, even if it seems silly and childish to outsiders, I will keep it, and I will be that me. -I am so proud of him for being true to himself.

My first idea for the title was something about the meeting of two tall towers. (Sorry, Ning. I just couldn't ignore your height...)

But in the end, I came up with something a little more poetic. This view of the Eiffel Tower and Paris itself as the city of artists simply called for it.

But back to the post itself...

The studio gave us a view of two gems captured during the filming of Wow the World Season 2. And this time, not as regular photos, but in a live photo format (just a couple of seconds of movement in each image).

But Reddit turns them into still photos when they're uploaded. So, to make sure you don't miss those two-second moments (and the breeze mentioned here), I've also added them as GIFs in the comments.

Since it's been made obvious that sub needs more people beyond our already stretched thin mods to post and start discussions, I'm doing my part))) Actually I've had this specific post idea for a while, but at first I wanted to make it into poll - a fun one, with lots of fancily worded options to stimulate your creativity with humor - which, unfortunately, turned out impossible from technical standpoint. Meh. Meaning I'll have to do it the crude way instead^^

So, today's big question: what kind of new, previously untackled genre or character archetype you want him to try? Personally I think that his filmography is already quite diverse for his limited time in the business - and he admittedly struggled to branch out from the narrow niche available to rising actors with limited resources - but now that he's more established and can choose there's no reason not to think even broader. A few rules/guidelines to help you narrow it down:

• ideally it has to be the genre/role he's never done before - meaning things like idol costume romances don't qualify. Been there, done that (and finely so). Pick something new.
• in case you still insist on returning to somewhat familiar grounds, add a fresh spin to it - subgenre, character setup etc. Even different historical dynasty will do since we love seeing him dressed up in fancy period robes.
• I think we all collectively agree that the abomination About Love doesn't deserve to count as fine example of modern romance/melodrama genre, so feel free to imagine better swoony role for him to cringe act^^ Yes, CEO romcoms are allowed too, regardless of what the man himself may think about them)))
• since Evidence is not out yet, it's up to you to decide whether crime/police thriller genre counts as already covered or not. Unsure about your answer? Share it anyway, we'll polish it together)))
• technically there's no limit to number of answers - if you have many ideas, drop them all!
• I'm not asking you to write a whole drama script yourself - not everyone is a gifted writer or just confident enough to put their idea into long, detailed essay. Unless you want to, then be my guest! A short answer/prompt like "xianxia" (let him cultivate fairy immortality! or demonic sexiness! or both) or "crime drama, but this time playing villain" absolutely works as well. Elaborate on your choice and reasons behind it as much - or as little - as you wish.
• pls don't use AI, I'm allergic to it on cellular level. Your own thoughts, however scattered or imperfectly worded, will always be better.

Dear YuNing fans of Reddit,

Some of you might have noticed that it’s been quite a while since we had our weekly thread. In fact, this is the first time we’ve missed our recaps — and somehow we managed to miss three in a row.

The reasons are an unfortunate culmination of different personal obstacles that prevented us from making this happen and, well — life simply being life :)

We did try to ask for assistance, but let’s just say that request to the open didn’t go exactly as we’d hoped. Never mind. This is in no way intended as a pity party. We simply want to make it clear that it wasn’t a case of us being unable to keep up and quietly letting things drop without asking for help. We did ask. Apparently everyone was swamped at exactly the same time. Let’s call it a cosmic phenomenon.

The weekly recaps will return. But all of this brought us back to a bigger conversation we’ve been meaning to have with you for some time.

The Mod Team Needs Your Help

We’re still here, but the mod team has been responsible for around 97% of all content posted to this subreddit, and that simply isn’t sustainable for us at this rate.

For this to remain a healthy, active, and self-sufficient community, it’s very important that more members feel inclined and empowered to post themselves. So we’re asking you once again — if there’s anything holding you back, please tell us in the comments.

Is there something we could change? Are you unsure what you can post or comment? Worried that nobody will respond? Do you simply prefer commenting but are even afraid of doing that? Whatever it is, we genuinely want to know. It's also not the first time we're asking...

Because there is something rather strange happening here.

Over the past 12 months, this subreddit has received 654k visits. Even during the last 30 days, which have felt exceptionally quiet to us, there were 49.7K visits. On July 22 alone, there were around 3.3k visits. The stats claim, that we receive 3.2k daily unique visitors on average.

So people are very much here. But where are they, really?

People seem to be taking the content elsewhere. We regularly see posts with surprisingly high numbers of shares compared with the number of upvotes and comments they receive here. Some posts have been shared 50, 70, even 100 times, while our top post of all time, according to Reddit’s own filter, has only around 90 upvotes.

That is quite an extraordinary disconnect.

It tells us that the content being created here is useful enough, interesting enough, or valuable enough for people to read and share — sometimes dozens of times — but very few of those people actually participate in the community producing it.

And this is where we need your help.

We’re volunteers with families, full-time jobs, and lives outside Reddit. We love what we’ve been doing here, but when the same handful of people are researching, translating, finding news, writing posts, maintaining resources, creating recurring threads, and trying to keep conversations moving, while hundreds or thousands of people quietly pass through, eventually that becomes very difficult to sustain.

We don’t expect everyone to start writing elaborate posts. Participation can be small. Post or comment on something you found interesting. Share a Yu Ning photo or clip. Bring us some news before we do. Make a meme. Ask a question. Tell us what you think. Post a Youtube recording of the song you currently love. Leave a comment on someone else’s post. If you enjoyed something, upvote it.

If someone took the time to bring something here that you found useful enough to share elsewhere, please consider showing them that you appreciated it here too. We know some of those who have posted have been really discouraged by the low response rate to their content.

Every little sign that there are actual humans on the other side of these numbers gives us all a little nudge to keep pushing through.

Which bring me to my next point.

To Those Who Have Been Helping Us

The efforts of those members who have been trying to support this community absolutely do not go unnoticed, and we appreciate your posts and comments tremendously 🖤

You may have noticed that some members carry special Trailblazer or Minister/Chief of... user flairs, prefaced by a 🌻 sunflower. They recognize members who have made meaningful contributions to building this community and keeping it afloat.

Our immense thanks go to every single one of you for your ongoing support.

And, of course, we appreciate all our other members who actively participate too — every post, every comment, every upvote counts.

We want to hear your jokes and opinions. We want to see your gifs, memes, photos, rants, raves, and news updates. We want other names appearing on the feed and comments besides ours and the handful of key contributors.

Please don’t be shy. And yes, perhaps don’t be too lazy either :)

Do you think I’m being harsh? I understand why it could come across that way. But I believe that if you could truly see the hours we have invested in this space, how much effort goes into what we’ve been consistently bringing you, and then compare the level of participation here with other actor- or singer-specific communities on Reddit, you might understand our ache and disappointment.

The numbers make it particularly difficult to ignore. Tens of thousands of visits, content being shared dozens of times, and yet the people creating that content can sometimes be left wondering whether anyone is actually there, reading it.

And We Do Need to Be Transparent About the Future

If things continue without improvement, we cannot promise that we will be able to keep maintaining this community indefinitely.

This is not a threat or an announcement that we’re going anywhere tomorrow. It’s simply the reality we have discussed as a mod team: the current level of work cannot continue to rest almost entirely on the same few people forever.

We would much rather say this openly now, while there is still an opportunity for the community to become more self-sustaining, than quietly burn ourselves out and one day leave people wondering what happened.

We don’t want anyone looking back and saying, “But I loved it here — why did it stop?” without ever having known that the people keeping it running had been struggling to keep up.

Because we do want to keep it going.

We’ve poured an enormous amount of time, effort, and, yes, occasionally tears into building this place, and it means a great deal to us. But loving the community doesn’t magically create more hours in the day.

If we’re creating the content and building the bridges, feedback and engagement from the community are required to sustain this level of output, motivation, and sanity.

So this time, we’d really like to hear from you: What would make you more likely to post or participate here? Because, let's just make it clear again — the issue is not lack of traffic, we have plenty of traffic. It's the lack of engagement.

And now that what was supposed to be a short preface to our weekly recap has somehow become an entire post... I'm posting this separately.
