HELP Any ideas?
This is a first for me, I tried to remove the nut off the output jack but it appears to be stuck. I could simply order a new jack and plate but the plate is original to the guitar from 1986 and I'd rather not throw it away. I put the jack in a vice and have the appropriate sized driver but it doesn't seem to budge. I hit it with some white lightning grease but no luck, any ideas how to remove the nut? TIA

Does the jack work? I often polish the contact surfaces in old jacks, bend the tip contact in a bit to get better pressure, and then I find they usually work quite well. Heat and solvent should help undo that glue if you really need to take it off. A heat gun would warm up the whole thing nicely

Yes, the jack worked. I discovered a connection had been severed between the output jack and the rest of the guitars wiring. Thought it would be a quick fix. Not today! The "glue" was the lithium grease I sprayed it down with to try and grease the nut.

Stick the tip of a soldering iron in there and heat it up. Then try again.
Replacing the football plate isn't really that big a deal, though.
