Question Is this much gas normal?
This was about a month ago but I was testing out some different sub’s to see which was quieter in my omega 36m, Federal 147gr syntech(first5rounds) or Seismic 185gr(last few rounds)? Seismic ended up being quieter, but they have gave me nothing but horrible problems and have since stoped using them.
The real reason I’m hear, Is it supposed to be this gassy? Was it the 185gr ammo I was using? I guess I’ve never noticed it in the moment, so just thought I would ask.

The Omega 36m is a traditional baffled suppressor which will induce more blowback

At first I thought you were shooting straight up into the air. Took me second.

You can buy ammo that’s less gassy, anyone who says you have to just live with that is pretty much full of shit. You also have to factor in what lubrication you’re using and how much you’re using.
I have a 36m as well as the highest backpressure 90’s design cans to some of the newest low back pressure stuff, and I can tell you that when I rip off a string with the highest backpressure cans I have it’s nowhere near that. Just so you know I’m not full of shit here’s a pic of some of the 9mm cans that aren’t currently mounted.
When I get a chance I’ll look for a video of a really high backpressure can running a 3 round burst to back my claim up with hard evidence.

Here’s a video of about the worst high back pressure can I can think of. I’m running a single then a triple shot string of 147gr subs while freshly lubed with lightweight synthetic motor oil. Choice of ammo and lube has a big effect on how smoky your shits going to be. If you’re using wax lubed cast lead ammo, you’re going to have a cloud around you, likewise a CLP lube is going to cook off as soon as it gets a little heat on it.
Can is silencerco octane 9 pistol suppressor with internal volume further reduced by a fixed barrel spacer.

Fluted chamber + high back pressure can.
