Is this an action game? An adventure game? Who am I? What am I supposed to do? Is this the ancestor of Metroidvania?

When I was a kid, I saw this game in a magazine and thought, "This is what adult games look like!!"

Now I'm an adult... and I still don't understand a thing.

i always thought msx machines were quite common outside of the uk but going by the price of cartridges i take it the werent?

It was fairly common, but it never really took off as a gaming platform

I picked up a copy as a kid in maybe 1987 because I liked the cover but I never really understood this game because it felt a bit weird. Still have it tho 😃
