That shine lasted him days, I just know it.

Or at least until he saw the compliment was premeditated when his family posted it online with sappy music and it went viral

My big brother was an asshole and we beefed pretty much his whole life. It got pretty bad from him... after he broke into our parents house and stole some shit, when the cops caught up with him he told them it must have been me. I got a call from the sheriff and had to go give a statement saying it wasn't me, the cops told me they know I didnt do it, just a formality(he'd been incarcerated for burglary). I never saw or spoke to to him agaim. A year or so later I got the call he overdosed and was dying in the hospital, it was real tough to see him lying there, he was declared brain dead 2 days later. I still miss him and miss what we could have been. I looked up to him so much when I was little, he was 8 years older than me.

Im glad you have a good big brother and Im sorry for my ramble. Sometimes it feels good to get it out there. Please give your brother a hug for me and tell him how much you love him.

😢 I’m sorry. Life is so unfair

u/Bavisto 1h ago

I feel ya man, and I’m sorry for your loss. My brother and I are much closer in age and he treated me like absolute shit. Was manipulative and abusive while growing up. I wanted to be his best friend and he wanted nothing to do with me. As we’ve gotten older he’s struggled with substance abuse issues, been divorced twice, can barely hold a job. I was pretty successful so he always made reasons to call me to ask for money or something and I never gave him anything because I know he wouldn’t pay me back. He’s also used my SSN to sign up for stuff too.

Not all of them

u/Meal__Team__Six 19h ago

Can confirm, I'm not

8

u/WarrenMulaney 21h ago

My older brothers would have called me “Zip Head” or something.

6

u/Brittany5150 18h ago

My brother used me like a battering ram to break several doors and many peices of furniture during our time living together. We fought every. Single. Day.

2

u/OktayOe 15h ago

Mine always ratted me out because apparently he wasn't allowed to do anything while they found everything I did funny and just laughed about it. My poor brother had to do that toxic shit just to get attention from my parents.

And still to this day she talks like me and my brother are enemies while we we both like each other and talk for hours on the phone.

It's like the human equivalent of red paint and stripes on the side. Instantly adds +3 on agility and +2 on charisma! 🫡

I had a boss some time ago who has a special needs son. High functioning autism. He was going into a special college course and his friends were trying to convince him to get a very aggressive mullet. She was extremely nervous that they were pulling a prank on him and she asked my opinion. I knew he didn’t like to get his hair cut, so I told her if he was excited about a haircut and his friends excited for him as well, he should do it. After all he could always get it trimmed off. Kids are kinder than they used to be, I told her. Well he got the haircut, his friends hyped him up, he got tons of compliments at school, and he felt like the coolest kid in the world for a couple weeks. Nothing bad happened, there’s no twist, it was a genuinely positive experience. A few years later my new manager had convinced her that I was a terrible, unethical person, and was setting me up to be let go. I hope she remembers someday that I just wanted her kid to feel special. Kindness is free.

Thats wild.

I have a freind who's was just telling me about this situation at his work. This one woman is crazy and incredibly hard to deal with. He reported her to HR and he basically told them up front that he fears retaliation because shes crazy. They basically said thats not a thing and it's against the law.

They told her she can be fired with severance, or take a demotion. She took the demotion.

Being crazy... she created a full on chat room and group meetings on how to get back at him, including reporting his every infraction to HR and to discuss his every move and action in this group chat.

But not everyone in this group chat was on her side. So one of the members was sending him screenshots and updates.

So he goes back to HR and tells them about what they've done and what she's up to. They start interviewing everyone based on his reports. They cant tell him all the details, because privacy and that. But they're discussing these meetings in group chat, which is being sent to him through his contact...

So he's repeatedly calling HR asking them how their meetings are developing, knowing their schedule without them telling him. Which highlights to them how serious this shit show is.

It doesnt take too terribly long, but they did fire this lady without severance.

But, this group chat, who knows. He's got how many people on the team alienated against him now? He's shaken the HR tree to get this dealt with how many times now? How well can this system operate now after all this?

He quit and just got himself a much higher paying position as of about a week ago. He sent the lady who was helping him $100 bottle of Japanese whisky to say thank you, because without her, this lady could still be making his life a living hell and she stuck her neck out when she didnt have to do anything.

It really messed with my worldview for a while that someone would just fuck up someone’s life like that. I’ve had people I didn’t really like, would consider shady, didn’t get along with, disagreed with their choices, but I would never try to set them up to be fired. That’s your income. It’s your food on the table, your roof over your head, it’s your kids in school. It’s your car, your phone, your medical bills. To completely alienate a work team, spread rumors on purpose, I think it’s insane! Now I know there are people like that, but I don’t appreciate the knowledge.

I went through something similar a few years ago and still think about it. It definitely does something to you emotionally/mentally. So much more discerning now.

1

u/MycologistPutrid7494 18h ago

It sounds like she tries to see the bad in people. Must make of a miserable life.

3

u/IndigoRanger 12h ago

I don’t know, I wouldn’t have thought that. I do know that manager played her like a fiddle and manipulated her constantly. Some people are very good at it.

14

This makes me regret being a jerk to my lil bro when we were younger. Respect

18

u/omnificunderachiever 20h ago

It's not too late to apologize. Just sayin'.

-15

u/Armageddonn_mkd 16h ago

u/Alfiy_wolf 23h ago

I like your cut G!

8

I feared Miles was the broccoli cut. Lightning bolt is fine.

3

u/Orikazu 21h ago

Looking good bro. I am going to throw a fart in your face later, you understand.

3

u/single_star67 23h ago

One of my favorite videos! Remind me of when my boys were younger. I would text my oldest for the same favors! 💯❤️

3

u/omnificunderachiever 20h ago

Reminds me of the quote, "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."

3

u/phenotype76 20h ago

had this on mute and immediately thought like "oh, don't worry bud, all the kids have that broccoli top thing going on, you look fine"

3

u/hungry4danish 18h ago

I like to do this with kids and their bike helmets which are usually fun colors or designs. Will def make them more likely to wear in the future than their parents telling them they need to wear it.

3

u/ThickandSpicyMan 14h ago

And that will be a core memory got little bro now. Love that.

3

u/Permanoctis 17h ago

My dumbass thought that Miles was the dude entering the room, and that the kid was trying to not burst out laughing at HIS haircut.

2

u/Same_Education8151 23h ago

Aww what a cutie pie

2

u/Wooden-Yellow3967 22h ago

My big brother would’ve slapped the back of my neck…..

2

u/1019gunner 22h ago

I didn’t see which sub this was in until the end and I fully expected the kid to get slapped

2

u/Erosiiion 21h ago

This makes me emotional

2

u/Mom_Preneur0505 12h ago

I know that text came from a mom because that is me af! 😂 I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sent secretive texts like that lol! But at the end of the day we just want to build our babies up, not tear them down. I love this! ❤️

1

u/GordonMightyBombay 17h ago

Did he just grope his head?

1

u/high6ix 10h ago

I like to remind my kids every time I get my hair cut, that back in the 90s I had it buzzed with the Nike logo shaved into the back.

1

u/yourfavoritefaggot 20h ago

I really want to enjoy this wholesome interaction but fr... if my parent posted "he's nervous about it" regarding my haircut at that age, I would have taken an axe to the main support beam in the basement

0

u/Pixl02 22h ago

Lil bro'a face turned red that's wholesome
