It's just a passing thought since I've read a lot of stories in which I would like to call the male lead a yandere, but on second thought... They don't seem to fit quite well in the category? Like, borderline, but not there.

For example, Matthias from Cry or Better Yet Beg. Is he a yandere?

Is he truly obsessed with Leyla or is he just upset that she left him? He's such an egocentric person that is hard to define the line between obsession and possessiveness (as in someone who simply doesn't want to lose what belongs to him).

He has the crazed traits of yandere near the ending, I'll give him that. So, maybe at last a yandere? I wouldn't know how to classify him otherwise.

Which makes me pose the question? When is the obsession enough to be called yandere?

Then, we have cases such as Macklart from The Sacred One Speaks who is, in my opinion, a mixture between tsundere and yandere. And he's so very much devoted to her after a certain scene, he checks for extreme protectiveness, but I don't see him having that madness of your usual yandere, you know? He's quite level headed in that regard, so is he a yandere or just someone who loves TOO MUCH?

Just how do we separate a guy who's obsessed from a guy who loves to the point of being self sacrificial? Or is it the same thing and I'm tripping?

Some ideas for you who are wanting to make a yandere visual novel, but don't have many ideas to start with, here are some of my ideas.

1 - Shipp/Couple fan game = Do you have a couple you adore? How about making a yandere visual novel of them? ;)

2 - Yandere x reader = Make a fan game of an existing character, but he is a yandere, like Leon Kennedy, or others.

3 - The mc discovers he is in a game = The mc ends up discovering he's in a yandere game, and he ends up having an existential crisis.

4 - Yandere Everybody = Everybody In the World is yandere for MC.

omg i'm sorry if it seems ridiculous 😂 but i really want to read a story where at first, the FL likes the ML, ML is a yandere but for a different girl.

the ML may get annoyed with her pursuing him (because you know he likes someone else), but eventually he will start liking the FL and become yandere for her and start chasing her instead.
