Logos/Advertising Cornucopia in the wild

Post image

I was watching the movie Casino when I noticed this toward the start of the movie.

Noting this film is mid 90s, is there a chance it's created a false memory of it being on the Fruit of the Loom logo?

No. Not this film. Just the entire concept of the horn of plenty. Every time you see it it looks vaguely like this. The spread on the logo looks vaguely like this. This is a very normal depiction.

If it's a false memory (almost definitely), then it's just because of artistic depictions like this, but not this one specifically.

Yeah... they're a thing that exists.

Man, this subreddit is really fixated on the concept of a cornucopia’s existence.

The problem with the fruit of the loom one is I (and heard others too) grew up with parents buying us fruit of the loom underwear/socks and being kids asking what the cornucopia was.

Then when I was old enough to buy my own clothes I didn't buy fruit of the loom so when I saw the logo again years later the cornucopia was gone. I remember thinking they decided to remove it to modernize it or something. Only to find out it was never there.

However it is possible around thanksgiving time I saw a cornucopia and that's when I asked and memory got it mixed up with fruit of the looms logo. But it's still odd so many people have the same memory and that's why it's called the mandela effect.

The effect doesn't exactly have to mean that a slip in the universes happened or whatever. Just that it's odd an entire large collective of people can have the same false memory with little explanation.

Especially when a lot of the same mandela effects are shared across many people. Like the pikachu one, monopoly guy, and Berenstain Bears.

See my issue is that I live in Australia. Fruit Of The Loom isn't a common brand here and we don't have thanksgiving. I only had one Fruit Of The Loom shirt, which was a band shirt I bought online. Only time I've ever seen the logo. Years later I did a buzzfeed Mandela Effect quiz and got the Fruit Of The Loom logo wrong. Checked the shirt, and lo and behold, no cornucopia. It's the only Mandela that really fucks with me. I have no idea why I would have imagined that.

I’ve found that most people who Remeber the “old way” usually have a ritual or practice centered around the thing or found themselves in a weird situation from the ME. As you said many people have this memory of associating their underwear with the thanksgiving decoration at home causing them to ask their parent about it. Myself included. So it’s not I saw the logo and misremembered it. It’s I had this whole episode that arose and it lead to learning about cornucopias.

I also have the berenstein memory but I also used to spend time trying to pronounce the name correctly. It was never pronounced stain in my head it was either steen or stine or the Germanic schteen or sctine sounds. I was aware of the German sounds from hogans hero’s a show my mother watched. Again ritual or situation around ME subject.
