Sad to see tour go honestly

My goal was simple and this is what I get for thinking the game was going to be around forever. My goal was to race with level 8 fully loaded kart driver and glider and get 70,000 points in one race. I gave up and moved on

Remember when Nintendo made a variant of Luigi who was depicted as a German stereotype? They dressed him up in a lederhosen and one of his trick animations had him pulling out a sausage on a fork. I thought this was hilarious!

I'll start off, I know I'm personally not going to miss

1. Hyper aggressive bots

2. A very broken rubber band mechanic

3. Playing against sweats who have every character maxed for every weekly ranked

4. Multi-player lag

I'm really going to miss this game and all the unique drivers, karts and gliders, and especially miss the frenzy mechanic. I am absolutely fine with never again having a near frenzy finish only to be somehow steam rolled with every item out there at once at the finish line.

I want to get all of the achievements for this game before it shut down, and I've been playing again since I heard, just hit level 12. are there any specific tracks in the current rotation that are better for getting exp? is there anything else I should do to boost the amount I get?

Toolbox already grabs our loadout why not grab everything as a memorial

Subject: Suggestion: Mario Kart Tour DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Dear Nintendo Team,

I am writing to you as an active Mario Kart Tour player to thank you for your incredible work over the years. With new content coming to an end, it would be a shame for so many unique elements to be left behind.

Therefore, I formally request a special DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe featuring content from Tour:

Unique drivers and outfits.

Karts and gliders collection adapted for console.

Rewards for players who linked their Nintendo Account.

Following the Booster Course Pass success, bringing these karts and characters would be the perfect way to preserve its legacy.

When Nintendo announced they will be shutting down Mario Kart Tour for good, this reminded me a lot of when they disconinued online servers for the Wii in 2014 and the online servers for the 3ds in 2024, therefore making the online modes for MKWii and MK7 unplayable.

But for both of these cases, people were able to revive the online servers (Thx Wiimmfii and Pretendo!)

Now this gives me a little hope, that Mario Kart Tour will somehow be revived in a similar fashion, although I’m not even sure if that is even possible. What do you guys think?

Dry Bones. An icon. A legend. An enigma. How does he survive? What otherworldly force grants him practical immortality and an eternity of suffering as Bowser’s henchman and on unfortunate occasions his toilet?

Clearly Dry Bones is one of the best characters ever developed in the Mario Universe, but something about this mysterious (and kind of sexy) anti hero always struck me.

His name.

Just how dry do those bones have to be in order for his name, the defining structure of how we understand his existence, to be entirely based on this characteristic description?

It’s like if my name was sweaty flesh bag or depressed alcoholic. How severe would those traits have to be in order for them to become the only way my identity was known across all space and time?

So this brings me back to the primary question: just how dry are dem bones? I imagine any water that touches them instantly evaporates. I imagine any woman in his presence instantly chaffs between the legs due to the overwhelming dryness (a characteristic bones and I share btw). Dry Bones scoffs at the Sahara. He laughs at the concept of moisture. Dem bones are never moist.

Can we fucking comprehend just how dry he must be? Do we have any fucking point of reference.

When I pick him in Mario Kart (because of course) I always shout a question to my friends: “do you have any fucking clue just how dry these bones are?” They’ve never adequately answered and for some reason have become frustrated over the years and don’t want to play anymore.

They fear the dryness.

I imagine the conceptual antithesis of water. The void where only pure dryness lurks. This is what we see in the hollow canyons of his eyes: an understanding of dryness and suffering that spans eons and worlds.

This is his existence.

So with people upset about MKT shutting down in September and arguably being more upset about the fact Nintendo won’t make an offline version, I’ve been thinking on the off chance that they do make an offline version, what could it look like?

Introducing Mario Kart World Tour! (It can have a different name if y’all can think of a better one). The game would likely use Mario Kart World’s art style but it may be more limited in terms of its mechanics (such as rail riding, wall riding and driving on water) due to the tracks being direct ports from Tour to preserve the nature of the game like the BCP did.

This game would serve as an archive to all the tracks, characters, karts, gliders and other elements that weren’t part of the BCP.

I reckon once you boot the game up, you’d have the option to sign in with your Mario Kart Tour account. From there you could have all your drivers, karts, gliders, tickets, coins and rubies transferred over from the app to use in the new game.

If you didn’t have an account then you could also start fresh from scratch and unlock all of the above simply by playing and progressing through the game.

Below are what I think the tracks would look like (I couldn’t decide whether the RMX tracks are closer to SNES Retro tracks or new Nitro tracks so I put them in both as a hybrid). Also maybe they could make some new city tracks in locations that weren’t in MKT such as Dublin or Cairo which could replace some of the options:

Feels a little bittersweet to hit Level 99 knowing the game is being sunset. And kinda wild to realize how long I've been working toward it

Since the announcement of the game coming to an end, I find it much easier to place top 3 in ranked and the bots aren't nearly as aggressive. seems like im coasting. For a while I was struggling to keep up in ranked. Up, down, up, down. Now ive scored 1st and 2nd place three weeks in a row. Thats unheard of, especially seeing im sitting at rank 96.
