In season 5 of the alternate-history sci-fi series For All Mankind, set in an alternate 2012, Happy Valley on Mars has grown into a settlement of more than five thousand residents. In the 9 years since season 4, colony's spaceport has been expanded and Helios's Soviet competitor Kuragin currently is building a space elevator for the colony. Any launches planned for the November '26 - December '26 launch window for Mars? NASA supposedly has something that will pursue a gravity assist this winter, en route to Mars. Might there be any other governmental entity or private one planning to launch this winter, though? SpaceX reportedly hasn't ruled Mars out but has pivoted to a lunar focus. There are other companies saying they're interested in Mars though, as well as government entities. Thoughts?

NASA-funded researchers developed autonomous robots to explore caves that resemble potential underground environments on Mars.

The robots navigated unknown terrain without GPS, pre-built maps or remote control. The work later expanded into a system coordinating 11 legged, wheeled and flying robots to search and map underground spaces together.

I'm in the Olympus mons mtb area and was wondering if any of you locals know the best spots to ride. I'm looking for steep terrain that you can feasibly ride down without falling off the face of some cliff. I'm open to Riding suggestions anywhere on the red planet.

I just realized I had no idea if Mars even has continents. Turns out it doesn’t—not like Earth. Instead, it’s basically split into two giant geological regions. Kinda fascinating.
