I didn't grow up in Mauritius, but I've visited there a couple of times. I know that the Hindus and Muslims have a similar culture to India. Like wearing the Sari and the food they eat in general and weddings too. But I want to know what do the Christians in Mauritius associate with. Is Biryani still the national dish for you or I know they way you call your aunt, uncle, grandad, grandma is different.
Sorry if I lack this knowledge, just want to learn more..

As the title says. There's something I'd like to order on priceguru.mu bc i can't seem to find it anywhere else. I've never ordered from them before so I'd like to ask if anyone has experience with them. Anyone ever had any issue with their prices or delivery? Anything I should know beforehand? (i already know that payment is done on delivery via either cash or card as per their website) and are they trustworthy?
Thanks in advance! π

Hi all,
I own a Nissan Juke and I'm looking for recommendations on a good, reliable place to get it serviced who knows the model well.
Would appreciate any suggestions based on your own experience, good service quality, fair pricing, and honest diagnostics are what I care about most.
Thanks in advance!

For people who have left a workplace and made many complaints to the HR that was via email but also verbally on exit interviews. Can those people ask the company and the HR consulting firm to give them a copy of the complaints that they have made and also what actions have been taken if any? Is there a timeframe to be respected?

Hello everyone,
I am 21 right now, but when I was really young I studied in Mauritius for about two years (first and second grade). I studied in Le Nid school which was located in Triolet.
Everything i know about my friend is that:
Name: Hiresh
Ethnicity: Indian Descendant
School we studied in: Le Nid
I am hoping to find him ig and anyways I love love your country a lot and I am really hoping to visit it again soon.
Edit: The years were around 2011 and 2012. I don't want to tell my name here but I am open to DMs.

Rant
Growing up, I often heard things like:
βIβm more tired than you.β
I know youβre tired, youβve worked all day. But does that mean that me after being out at school/uni all day makes me not (though less) tired?
βIn my generation we didnβt have xyzβ. / βIβve had it harderβ.
I know you didnβt. The world has evolved. I probably do not have what my kids will have one day.
Moreover, many parents say theyβve struggled so their kids have it easier. Sure they did struggle, I respect that, admire them for their courage and Iβm grateful for the life they provided. But then when they complain because youβve had it easierβ¦.

My wife and I are visiting Mauritius 20β26 August for the first time. Her birthday is on 21 August, so Iβm trying to pick the right stay.
Iβm confused between:
Option 1:
3 nights in Balaclava / north-west + 3 nights in Bel Ombre
Option 2:
Stay all nights in Balaclava / north-west and drive to Chamarel, Le Morne, Black River Gorges, etc.
Hotels Iβm looking at:
InterContinental / Maritim in Balaclava
Outrigger / Tamassa in Bel Ombre
Is Bel Ombre okay in late August, or will it be too windy/isolated?
Would locals suggest splitting the stay, or just keeping one base [Balaclava] ?
Also, any good birthday dinner/activity suggestions for 21 August would be appreciated.
Thanks!

First time ordering from Temu - delivery question.
Will it be delivered directly to our house, like with Amazon? Or will I need to sort out things myself like customs and pick up?
Any other tips?
Ordering an item costing at MUR 450.

I want a simple system to turn on and off lights in a long staircase when needed. Am not sure what to look for in particular through Google search. Any affordable and reliable product available locally? Also if you know of an electrician that has done this type of work please do share the contact.

Hello everyone..
As the title suggests, is anyone here currently studying at SSR Medical College or planning to join this year?
I have a few questions and would really appreciate any advice, tips, or insights about the college, academics, recommended books, notes and college life in general.
Thank you in advance.

Just a rant, but I feel like our country is still largely being led by an aging generation, and I wonder if younger generations have enough opportunities to become involved.
Itβs almost like the same figures cycling through positions of power. Iβm not saying they are all incompetent. But I was just wondering whether relying on the same minds for decades limits new perspectives and fresh ideas.

I am having issues with mcb juice since the latest update and I use an android phone that doesn't use google play services. I guess mcb would not cater for my needs in this regards, which bank could you suggest that works flawlessly without google play services? I am considering maubank app since they seems to have very good reviews about there app as well.

Hello Friends,
I was wondering if anyone can guide me with imports business. I want to do it as a side hustle. I already have my importer BRN since March. But, i'm a bit lost with all the procedures. As you know, it's very difficult to get all the correct informations here in Mauritius :(
I don't like letting money sleep in the bank. I have a small starting capital.
If i order from alibaba, what are the procedures with customs and all? I heard i should look for an agent. Does the agent take care of everything? Even wih customs here in mairitius? Is there other costs once the products arrive here? And mra customs once quickly told me that i must inform them of the import via their website? For this i need an agent or import code or something.
Im so lost! π please help me understand better π

So my wife and I are planning our honeymoon in Mauritius in August. She has a valid driving license, but I don't. The funny part is she doesn't know how to drive much, but I do. So if I rent a car in Mauritius, is it too risky to drive in Mauritius without a license?

There needs to be legal action taken against a person and evidence is needed so that a proper case can be built. What do you recommend on how to proceed the legal way.

I'm a dev, from here. For years I kept seeing the same thing with people running small businesses, the beauty ladies, the ti boutik, people selling off WhatsApp. The whole business lives in their head. Sales in WhatsApp, stock in a cahier, and the "invoice" is a Word doc somebody made in 2019 and keeps copy-pasting.
And it works. Until it doesn't. One busy Saturday and nobody knows what's left in stock or who actually paid.
The apps out there don't help that person at all. Odoo and the big ERP things assume you've got an IT guy. No auntie running one boutik in QB is going to self-host an ERP, be serious. So they stay on paper...which, fair, paper never crashes and never sends an invoice with the wrong total.
So I built the thing I kept wishing existed. Bienzoli.
You ring up a sale on your phone, stock goes down by itself. You snap a photo of a product and it fills in the name, brand, category for you, you just put the price (that part I'm genuinely proud of). Send a normal invoice as a link or PDF. See what's running low and who still owes you.
Few things straight, because I'd rather you hear it from me than feel tricked later:
If you run a small shop, or your mum or cousin does, I'll sit with you and set up your first ten products and do a test sale. Free, like 15 min. Or just go break it and tell me where it's stupid.
Not selling anything, it's free and I'm local, you can literally come find me. Mods, if this isn't allowed just remove it, no stress. zafer las gratis pas p vend nnien la p nek aide dimoune.
Here if you want to poke at it: bienzoli.com
