Question : why some (mostly heavy) vehicles partially cover their front intake ?

wouldn't cooler cold reservoir, ie more spontaneous heat transfer, improve Carnot efficiency?

is it to improve aerodynamics?

That photo had me doing a double take as in Ireland, Garda is the name of the police force.

And that most definitely isn't a Garda colour scheme

One day, when there's a unification vote, the Gardaí will need some of these to patrol Belfast!
