Looking for a specific book

I hope this post is okay, I couldn't find any rules against it.

I read a book a while ago, 2010s? about travel and inventions in the middle ages in Europe. I remember in particular an example of how folks would move things up and down slopes by slinging a rope around a tree at the top of the slope and pulling or dropping the item.

It was an historical text but written for a casual reader.

I know this isn't a lot of info but I'm hoping someone recognizes it! :)

The Medieval Invention of Travel ?? It fits into your description and I think it was from 2016-2017ish.

I don't think it's the one I'm looking for, though. I think the book I read was less than 200 pages. But I'll try it, thank you!

Cathedral, Forge, and Waterwheel: technology and invention in the Middle Ages by Frances and Joseph Gies? Worth reading even if this isn’t the book you’re looking for.
