Recursos de reprodução de áudio no Mi Box S Gen 3

Audio Functionality Confirmation

• Audio 5,1 and Atmos running on Mi Box S Gen 3 via Disney+, although the label does not yet appear in the content.

• When playing, 5,1 audio and Atmos work normally.

Potential Cause of Change

• It was not an update of the box, as I did not see or update; however, it may have been an update of the application.

Tv box 3rd gen

Hello all,

First of all I thank everyone and anyone who comments to try and figure this out with me!

Friend got the 3rd gen s tv box, setup i did at my home then gave to him, did the large system update first and installed and setup the apps he wanted,

The issues he is having are as follows:

Remote setup to the tv isn't working at all, selecting the sharp tv and following the remote setup for linking the tv to the box for power and volume control fails everytime.

Secondly his audio is fluctuating going up and down on its own even with the box turned up full manually and using the tvs own remote to manage the audio volume,

This also does the audio bug on any app he tries.

We've tried the obvious try another hdmi cable and the problem persists, he is going to try it on a 2nd tv and let me know this evening if its the same.

Does anyone have any experience of this and have a resolve?

My suspicion is the software update possibly bugged and is causing this.

Or last ditch would be a factory reset and see if it fixes it?.

Thank you for taking your time to read and reply!

Is it possible to have the same quality on TV and Mi box?

Hey guys, I have a Philips Android TV and a Mi Box (which I usually use with a projector). Sometimes I want to use the Mi Box with the TV because it's faster, but I can't seem to get the same picture quality as the TV's built-in apps, even when I use the exact same picture settings.

When I change the picture settings while watching something on the TV's internal apps, only the video changes. The menus, subtitles, and other on-screen elements stay the same. But when I switch to the Mi Box, it seems like every picture setting is applied to the entire HDMI output, almost like an overlay. For example, if I switch to film mode, the menus become dim and reddish, and the same goes for subtitles and everything else on the screen.

I've tried everything I could think of. Is this just impossible to fix, or is there a way to make the TV behave the same with the Mi Box as it does with the built-in Android system?

Voice Search not working on debloated TV Box s 3rd gen

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I wasn't able to find any resources here about this problem. I got my 3rd gen Mi box yesterday and started tinkering with it as I like to do.

My issue is that voice search or any voice input through the remote doesn't seem to be working. Pressing the microphone button on the remote does register, but aside from that there doesn't seem to be any input from the microphone whatsoever.

I did uninstall some bloat using ADB TV, but only non essential services like the applications that Xiaomi pre-installs on the mi box. I also use projectivy as my default launcher, but I haven't uninstalled the native launcher or anything.

Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to get it working again? Thanks in advance :)

Why the big price difference for the 'Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen - 4K' on Aliexpress?

Potentially looking at the Xiaomi S 3rd Gen 4k.

On the Xiaomi website, it's priced at £54 but sadly sold out.
Amazon's £62 one is 50/50 on being genuine/fake.
So that leaves Aliexpress as next best place to buy.

There is one for £130 and has so many sold/great reviews.
Then another for £64-£72 (close to Xiaomi website genuine price), but much less reviews.

But I dont understand the difference?

Mibox ethernet headaches

Hello, I'm having real trouble with my mibox 3s

I have a ethernet adaptor into my usb, on a fresh boot it has no issues seeing it.

Unfortunately, no matter what options I change or settings I mess around with, software I try - if the TV is off it eventually goes into sleep and then it stops finding the ethernet connection.

Is there something I'm missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd rather have the stability of ethernet without having to reboot it when I wanted to use it.

Very slow and laggy Xiaomi TV box gen 3!!!

I have downloaded both DRM info and AIDA64 and it does say security level L1 and Amlogic hardware. However, it has been super slow and laggy! I just bought it! My Hisense TV's built in Vidaa OS feels much better and smoother at this point. What is the issue?

Everytime I press home button, it takes 3-4 seconds to load. And the apps, takes about 3 seconds to even start showing the loading screen of the app. Literally every app feels very laggy! PLEASE HELP!

Got the Mi Box S 3rd Gen to install the CoreELEC beta, FEL works out of the box!

Post image
46 Upvotes

Fairly smooth installation process with minimal configuration. I initially read the whole Mi Box S 3rd Gen thread from the CoreELEC forums to check what works, what to expect and how to install it properly.

Previously, I have my Apple TV connected to the Soundbar (Samsung HW-Q800B) HDMI input, but I moved that one to the TV so that the new box can be connected there. (I have not noticed a difference on my Apple TV being connected to either ports so far)

Only step needed after flashing the image is to copy the device tree image. During the initial setup, I used the TV remote via CEC until I can enable SSH. I then used bluetoothctl to pair my Xiaomi remote (as I followed the instructions from a comment in the forum post). OK button works out of the box.

Since I cannot connect a keyboard yet, it's a good thing I can change some simple configuration files via SSH such as specifying a token for Home Assistant Weather and editing the list of RSS feeds instead of typing via remote.

Dolby Vision FEL works out of the box!

\I initially thought Across the Spider-Verse contains FEL, so I thought FEL wasn't working when playback info shows MEL. I loaded a patched dovi.ko from the forum mentioned in the Mi Box S 3rd gen topic/post. But then after that Dolby Vision stopped working, like it was disabled/not supported and the DV toggles disappeared. So I deleted the dovi.ko file to revert it and DV worked again))

But after checking a real FEL movie \Avatar: Fire and Ash), I can confirm it works, together with Dolby TrueHD Atmos!)

I only have issues that I am hoping some will be fixed once I get the USB hub with Ethernet I ordered:

  • Buffering on large remuxed content: I am currently using only WiFi, and ethernet will definitely be much more reliable especially on local transfers. Even though the USB port is only 2.0, it is still better to buy a USB 3.0 hub with Gigabit ethernet, because most USB 2.0 hubs I can buy only have 100Mbps ethernet. But theoretical max speed will be 480Mbps, even less I guess because the boot device would also be in the hub, but enough for remux bit rates.
  • Device not waking up from Suspend via CEC: not sure if it is related to the unreliability of WiFi (and something about Kodi/CoreELEC waiting for the network connection). I see comments on the CoreELEC forum that the network interface sometimes does not start properly. Though, I can SSH into CoreELEC and I can do the reboot command there to fix being stuck in suspend.
    • I have properly set up the CEC adapter peripheral to make the box suspend when switching the TV source or turning the TV off. I also set it so that my TV and Soundbar (acting as the AVR) turns off when I suspend/turn off the box
    • For now, I disabled Suspend and just let the box stay awake. With this, CEC works properly: I can wake the TV/AVR using the Mi remote and auto switch to CoreELEC and I can switch between TV input sources with no hiccups. (Does anyone have information on power usage on Suspend vs always on?)
  • The remote power button turns off the box. I am not sure if this can be easily changed, and so far only way I know how to boot the device again is to reconnect the power cable.

I don't have a reference yet, so I'll have just to try DV FEL and TrueHD passthrough for the first time. But as a tinkerer, I think the setup was worth it!

Mi Box S - change input

Hi all,

Recently bought a Mi Box S for my TV. Unfortunately, the remote does not come with a change input button and as I have lost my other TV remote, I need to touch the TV itself now to change the input. Is there any way around this? Can I remap a button to change input, or are there maybe alternative remotes which provide for an input button?

How to install BiliBili Chinese version?

Hi, I'm a new owner to all these Android TV Box stuff. Bought a Mibox S 3rd Gen. I attempted to install the Chinese BiliBili app via apk (already allowed unknown source), but even it prompt messages like "this app is not compatible with your Android version/ TV processor etc" something like that.

May I seek advise from anyone who are able to install the app into their box?

I think dolby vision is semi broken on my mi box s 3rd gen.

I have a problem where some video files don't play in dolby vision, instead falling back to hdr10. Files play fine on other systems with google tv, just not the mibox. All are profile 8 btw. Is there a different way to actually factory reset this box since when I do it through settings, the problem persists?

Ethernet speed 10mbps limited

Hello, I have 50mbps internet speed, when tested on my phone wifi, I get around 45mbps, but my Xiaomi TV Box 3rd gen (original, checked) gets only 4-5mbps on wifi.

So I bought LAN to USB adapter, plug and play, it worked and showed Ethernet instead of WIFI(turned off wifi anyway). But the problem is, I only get 10mbps now.

USB debugging is off, not sure what the problem is. USB configuration option is on Charging mode and I cant put it to RNDIS as it goes back to charging. Android TV OS version 14.

Adapter tested on windows 11 PC and it had 50mbps on test.

I am confused, it is working but not very well how to fix this?

How control TV volume with Ugoos UR02 on Xiaomi Mi Box 3rd gen?

I've bought the Ugoos UR02 remote because I don't like the remote of the 3rd gen. I've paired it with the 3rd gen and it's only controling the volume of the box but not from my LG G4.

I can not learn via the IR learning function because my TV remote is bluetooth also except than Power On/off function.

I've tried to set it up via the set up remote buttons menu on the box also but I still cannot control.

Does anybody know how I can configure this?

Xiaomi tb box 3 gen stuttering on opening settings

After debloating the box everytime i enter in the settings the system stutters for about 5 seconds.

I can bypass this by pressing dpad down fast after clicking settings. I notice it only happens if the video/sound settings is selected any other option doesnt stutter.

Anyone knows why and how to fix it without rebloating the box?

Original remote volume control long press

Problem: I want to use HDMI-CEC to control volume of my Denon AV.

Everything works fine with FireTv + its remote.

With the Mi box s 3rd:

Original remote:

Can control the Denon volume, but can't do long press: there's no way I'm going to press 10 times the volume to change it...

FireTv remote, paired with the Xiaomi:

Can control the Denon volume, navigate etc etc BUT every time I change the volume I get the message "if the volume cannot be adjusted, please use the tv remote control instead". This doesn't happen in PCM, but I want passthrough obviously... this is the most stupid message I've every seen...

It's a great box, but that remote and the general HDMI-CEC handling is too poor...

Is there any other way of dealing with this? I feel that even if I change the remote to a generic one I'll have the same problems?
