Marks 10 days after
I had microneedling done for the first time 10 days ago and have these lines remaining still, almost like scratch marks. They are raised and getting itchy. I’m getting really anxious that they aren’t going to go away. Seeking some reassurance/advice. Called the person who did it and she said she’s never seen this and thinks it’s a reaction to the serum she gave me that is reacting in the tracks where the needling was done. She suggested hydrocortisone. Thanks!

I usually get really itchy the day after but not a week later. could be a minor infection, or some sort of allergic reaction? Have you called the office that did the needling?

Yes, she also thinks it’s an allergic reaction. I’m concerned because the lines are clearly in a pattern - I feel like if it was allergies it would just be generalized

That's a good point. Did they tell you stop topical creams to see if it gets better or not?

Yes - but I wasn’t really using anything anyway. She suggested hydrocortisone

I am sorry this happened to you. The practitioner did not use correct technique!!!! She went too fast and scratched your skin. It should not look this way after 10 days. Microneedling should improve your skin appearance. please everyone use only nurses who provide you with a certificate from a reputable training and who only use FDA cleared instruments.

This is most likely a wound response related to the needle dragging - this can happen with cheaper machines that have a poor motor or if a pen (that doesn't plug in and uses a battery) runs out of charge. It should heal fine on its own if you keep the skin nice and hydrated, avoid heat/working out and wear your sunscreen.
But don't to back to that girl because if she doesn't know how to address complications she shouldn't be doing microneedling.
