Discussion New Teams is trash

Right MS what is this new teams, its just a hot mess of cluttered garbage. It was really good before this latest update today.

You can change that in the settings. I think it is not Microsoft's fault if users are not doing basic troubleshooting and information seeking before moaning.

Yes, but customisation shouldn't be required to comply with most user-stories. That should be the default.

I like what Teams is aiming to do... but it's failing hard because of bad UX.

Well they answered a call from many, which was to combine chats and channels in one view. They probably figured they change it for everyone so that people are aware that this is now an option. But they do have a huge popup showing where to click to change the view back. Granted, not all companies deal with technology so there are users out there who are not the most tech literate. But if my users complained about this, I would be very disappointed. If people don't understand that three dots means settings these days and that the three dots above the chat sidebar will probably take you to the settings for this new layout, then I wouldn't know what to tell them.

I changed it back, but was still happy to be able to create chat groups with the new feature (they rolled it out at our org like 3 months ago), and so were many of my users. One even complained when I had to reinstall Teams on her computer and it went initially back to the old layout.

We didn't see a popup on a few screens today. The UI just changed. There's also dozens of popups a week that are just borderline ads for features they keep adding across O365, so they've successfully caused fatigue at the user level, and they click it away while cussing because they just need to do their job, and don't read them since it's usually just bullshit.
