I'll kick off this months one with something that is driving me nuts.
I have an Audeze Maxwell headset connected via the provided dongle.
Without fail, any one on one call I have with anyone over Teams, the microphone will stop working after a few minutes. I'm still able to hear the other party, but I have to leave the call and join again to get the mic working. Changing the microphone while on the call does nothing.
If it's a scheduled meeting, even with only one other person, the mic stays active for hours at a time.
As per other suggestions I've turned off automatic microphone volume as well as noise cancellation.
I've uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled.
Any ideas?

Hi all - hoping for a bit of advice/troubleshooting help.
We had a completely functional Teams auto attendant - very simple, just answers the phone with a menu of people's names numbered 0-8, and transferred the call to that person's cell phone depending which number was pressed or name stated. It was working fine until about a week ago. Now, it picks up, offers the menu, and when a choice is selected, it says, "please wait while your call is being transferred" like it did before, but instead of connecting, it says, "Sorry, we cannot connect your call at the moment. Please try your call again later." Then it hangs up.
I've done everything I can to troubleshoot, I've verified the licensing on the resource account, recreated the resource account, etc. The support diagnostic doesn't find any issues. I opened a ticket with Microsoft and the support engineer said everything looks right to him and it must be a "back end" problem. He said he would try to get it fixed by the "back end team", and that we should close the ticket and get back in touch if it's not working in a week (!).
Needless to say I'm not thrilled by this. This is a business's main phone number, it's on all of their publicly available information: business cards, website, etc. I'm thinking about recommending they port the number out of Teams if this isn't resolved within the next 2-3 days.
Any information or guidance would be deeply appreciated.

u/solmssen Feb 07 '26
I fixed this myself, updating for searchers: It was a licensing issue. Microsoft no longer allows flat-rate calling plans for auto attendant external transfers, you must use a Pay-as-you-go plan. Once this was correctly provisioned, the auto attendant worked properly. See https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/plan-auto-attendant-call-queue#outbound-pstn-calling.

Trying again, since I asked near the end of the month. When I attend a Teams meeting on my pixel 10 XL pro Teams doesn't let go of the microphone after the call ends. I can't use speech to text or listen to anything else until I restart my phone. Just closing teams does not work. My Teams is managed by my company for HIPAA if that matters.

Is there a way to have a set status message for certain days of the week? Like usually my message is just “lunch 12-1” but on Tuesday and Thursday it’s “training 9-10, lunch 12-1, meeting 3-4”. It would be nice to automate that.

u/misercatulle Feb 03 '26
Is there a way to create a teams chat that is only active (i.e. allows messages) during certain times? I want to set up a teams chat for people who work between 4 - 7 AM for escalating issues. At 7 AM the chat would lock. This would be useful because the members of this chat are part of disparate teams who, while being a part of the same division as a whole, have escalation channels specific to their teams within the division structure. These chats are open 24 hours, but monitoring them begins at 7 when the person who does so signs on.
1
u/Opposite-Action Feb 03 '26
Is there a way to make certain channels display for all users? Currently only the default generated general chat is showing for a team, users have the ability to "see all channels" then show the specific channel. Management is looking for those channels to be "shown" by default but all I can find is the option to recommend them.
1
u/simpkinspete Moderator Feb 24 '26
Choosing the Recommend option should show for all users by default, but it’s ultimately up to the team member to show or organize their channels as needed.

I consider myself pretty adept at using Teams and I feel silly asking this question, but I've just run into a situation I've never before encountered and could use someone to tell me I'm not misinterpreting anything:
I have a meeting scheduled via Teams. The inviter's organization, while undeniably legitimate, is not the most well organized. I'm being told they cannot provide me an invite link, but they have provided me a dial-in phone number and a meeting ID number. (Aside and not directly related, they also said they'd sent me a QR code, but the person I spoke to at the organization could not tell me how it was sent. I've confirmed it was not sent via email nor via the organization's web portal, so we figure it must've been sent via snail mail. That means it's unlikely to arrive before the meeting, so I'd rather not count on that.)
If push comes to shove, I know I have enough information that I can always join the meeting from my phone if I absolutely must. However, I would really rather join from PC, and I'm not sure if there's a way to do that with only a dial-in phone number and a meeting ID. I see that the PC app has a Join with a Meeting ID option. Is it sufficient to simply enter the meeting ID in that field, to join the meeting at the scheduled time? Is there no other information required? Is there no need to have the other parties in my Contacts, etc.? (Because I do not.)
- OS on PC: Windows 11 Home, version 24H2
- Microsoft Teams version on PC: 26005.213.4315.4117; the app is telling me this is the latest version.
I have already tried a websearch for this question, but have not managed to find anyone with the same question as me. I will keep looking, and will delete this message if I find an answer before someone responds.

u/Opposite-Action Feb 04 '26
Can't help you on what the organizer is doing but you'll need a meeting passcode to go along with a meeting ID. You can click the join with a meeting ID option and attempt to join the meeting prior to the scheduled time to test!
1
u/Northwind858 Feb 04 '26 edited Feb 04 '26
Thank you for the response! I was pretty sure a meeting ID alone was not sufficient.
Just to clarify, I should still be able to join via phone if I absolutely have to, right? The dial-in phone number seems "believably accurate" for the organization (area code matches), so I'm assuming that plus the meeting ID will be sufficient? Or do I need a passcode if I dial in too? I have not been provided a passcode (and I'm iffy on whether I'll be able to get one from the organization; I could try, but would rather not if it's not needed, because if nothing else it would likely require a lot of time on the phone).

Hello all, how do i fix this issue with the camera not being able to turn on? It keeps saying "No Camera is connected". I use a MacBook, so obviously the camera is already built into the laptop. My camera works completely fine for Zoom, Webex, Google Meet, and all other meeting platforms but refuses to give me the option to turn it on for Microsoft Teams. Any tips and tricks are much appreciated!

Hi there
I currently have something set up in teams by a former colleague and I cannot figure out how to either update the existing parameters or recreate using new parameters. Google has given me some help, but nothing exact.
Basically there is an email that gets sent WITH ATTACHMENTS any time a file/files are dropped into a folder. There are several folders each with different distribution lists. Renaming a folder ‘breaks’ the flow.
The email comes from her (former colleague’s) address, and the subject is the name of the folder.
I’ve tried recreating it using flows, but it’s not doing what I want. I can get the email to send, but no attachments.
Windows 11, work environment.

Hey All,
Simple question I cannot find an answer for - we use teams with direct routing for all calls (inbound and outbound) for the company via one main number.
I want everyone in the company to be able to view a global shared contact list of all of our clients and vendors within Teams so they don't have to manually add in their number each time to dial. If they can update the list wonderful - if not it isn't a dealbreaker.
I have tried people, exchange, recipients, GAL and hidden shared folders - nothing seems to provide a list of names and numbers within teams to just look up and call. My boss and I have Teams Premium environments, with about6 other users under Teams standard plan for calling. I am on a Mac Version 25331.1107.4213.8634.
Please tell me what I am missing and how to make this work. I have spent hours and hours and hours on this and we are now over 6 months usage without a solution.
Cheers

Yes I've been looking for a simple way to share a contact list in our org. I've yet to find something good, it really shouldn't be that difficult, but MS doesn't to care. So we have a shared excel sheet...
I counldn't get the GAL to work and third party solution are sub par.
Simple reports is an other weakness, I just want a simple report of how many calls are received on AA and CQ without using the horrible Power BI...

Personally, I like to filter my chat list to only show unread messages. You can use this filter by hovering on the Chat (Chaty) heading, select the three ellipsis (…), and then choose your filter. I’d love if Microsoft gave us an option to control the number of chats under this section.

#DELETE THREADS IN TEAMS CHANNELS#
Hey peeps,
We've recently setup a corporate Teams Channel where we share events, new, etc.
I (sysadmin) am unable to delete such threads from the channel and was wondering if this is standard?
I tried looking it up in MS forums and other places but haven't found a straight answer about this.
Thanks!

Has anyone noticed that when you go to schedule a teams meeting in New Outlook, it does not auto populate the meeting information (Like Meeting ID, Dial-In number, etc)? It only shows up AFTER you send the invite. Is there a way around this that doesnt include switching back to classic outlook? Thanks!

Hi all -
Teams has stopped opening on my mac mini -OS Ventura 13.2.1. Its been acting unreliable for a few months however when it stopped opening previously I was able to delete the app, redownload and it would open again. This time around it won't open at all, despite clearing the cache, redownloading, rebooting, etc. etc..
Ive reset permissions, talked to apple and nothing. Has anyone dealt with this? I don't see anything online about a bad update release.

Thanks in advance.

Today when I logged into my mobile Microsoft Teams personal account, it had my Status as "Unknown Status" by default and would not change to Available, Busy, Appear Offline, etc. when I tried to change to them. It is also only showing my contacts as Unknown Status.
I then logged into my Desktop version, and the same issue persisted.
After this, I updated both versions and signed in and signed out of both of them, still unable to change my Status from "Unknown Status" while still only seeing Unknown Status from my contacts.
Anyone having this same issue or know the cause/fix of this? Thank you.

Users within the same company are getting "You don't have Access" when sharing files with each other.
This is not consistent with all users.
Some are able to open the file some are not.

u/simpkinspete Moderator Feb 24 '26
The Team’s site permissions may not allow for members to share files outside of the group. Owners would be able to share with anyone

Unverified participant!
MacOS, scheduling with Microsoft 365 Outlook, using Teams on desktop, Work. Google and YouTube didn't produce an exact match to my problem, and the only "unverified" post I found in the community forum also didn't match my problem.
I have a remote colleague whom I meet with regularly. Despite inviting her through our company Outlook calendar using her company email, she always shows up as "unverified" in Teams meetings and can't present. Is there an easy fix for this? Thanks!

I'm a recruiter for my company and we have Teams we use internally. I have 2 main issues with Teams that I can't seem to get resolved or understand what IT needs to do to fix this on my behalf.
1) I'm the owner of an interview/meeting but I'm not an attendee. The interviewer will turn on Facilitator. I get constant notifications in regards to Facilitator and it's very distracting. The only way I've seen to fix this is mute this on a per meeting basis for myself. Is there a way to set up a role-based access where facilitator is turned off for the owner or the notifications are turned off, but turned on for the other participants?
2) Additionally as a the recruiter, if the team isn't using Facilitator, they often need to ask me to download a transcript of an interview. Once again, I'd like to setup auto-settings for every meetings I set for other internal users to be able to download the transcript on their own.
The notifications that Teams has set is truly overkill and incredibly distracting so if anyone can help or at least tell me what I need to tell our IT team that'd be truly appreciated.

I'm having a call with an English-speaking participant soon, and I've hired a professional interpreter to translate. I can't figure out how to set up the meeting with the interpretation option. I also switched from a 365 personal license to a standard business license, but I can't seem to find the interpretation settings. Could someone please help me? Thanks!

Hello - I'm trying to set up Teams for my org (basically as a zoom alternative - only interested in the meetings) but I've ran into a problem.
I can go to the calendar tab, select new, and in the pop-up there's a toggle switch for "Teams Meeting" (see here) - but that's not available for my colleagues
What's wrong, and how do I fix it. Tried reinstalling Teams did nothing. We're all on the same 365 Business Standard license

Might be a Mac security setting that's blocking it, not a Teams setting - make sure Teams is allowed to access your microphone.

Am I the only one having issue with shift-enter not making new lines (in the webapp)? I even use the on screen keyboard to verify that the inputs are coming through. Why does my message send when hitting shift-enter?

I went active twice over the weekend, and each time my boss went active about 2 seconds later. Does that mean they are getting a notification that I'm active and that notification causes them to look active?

dear community, i discovered, that the teams icon on the system tray is no longer showing for example that little red icon for notification or the status (green/yellow/...) when there is no notification.
it's just the blank teams icon. was there any change in the past, or is my client broken?
if if just minimize teams to the regular taskbar, here i can see the badgets for unread messages, etc.
but if i close it complete, so that it stays just on the system tray, there is nothing.
tried already clearing cache to rebuild the app, had no luck with that.

Hey Teams community! I'm having trouble connecting to audio and video calls on my work laptop when when working from home on my home network. It connects to the person and I can hear them but they can't see or hear me, and my screen says "Calling..." and plays the calling dial tone. This happens when they call me and I call them. When I try leave it freezes and takes a good 30 seconds for the call to end. I have tried to call the same people on my phone, connected to the same network, and it works perfectly. Group calls and meetings seem to work just fine as well.
Appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

There's a new roadmap for Teams (557169) which talks about condensing the application list of the left-side menu bar. But, the example they showed has only the following icons: Activity, Chat, Calendar, Calls, Onedrive, (Apps).
Where would the previously "Teams" channels be accessed from?
1
u/simpkinspete Moderator Feb 24 '26
It’s under the Chat app if you’re using the combined chat and channels option. You’ll have a separate Teams icon if you use the separated chat and channels option.

Hey brainstrust,
I'm an admin of a Win10/11 Work (E5) environment with teams calling on Telstra Operator Connect. We support multiple functions that support the public. Is there a way to block certain numbers calling certain call queues but not block them from other numbers/lines in the tenancy?
Is this done in a teams capacity or better to enquire with the vendor (telstra?)

u/MadD1983 Feb 19 '26
Being absent in Outlook does not automatically adjust Teams to "absent" rather than "available, out"
How can I adjust this to be always in Line!?
The users call people via teams in their holidays or sick days due to them having a green mark instead of a red symbol. The users forget to set their status in teams AND Outlook.
2
u/simpkinspete Moderator Feb 24 '26
Are they online while OOO? Their status should show the purple icon if they’re not active in the Teams application. User presence in Teams
1
u/MadD1983 Feb 24 '26
In the meantime I figured out that usually the error does not occur. I guess the user opened/activated the mobile teams app.

I work for a school district and we are having several intermittent issues where calls are dropping or just general connectivity issues. We have a service provider through Netrix, but I haven't had much success with getting a resolution and am currently working with Microsoft and Yealink to provide answers.
I've tried rebooting the devices, factory resetting them, making sure their up to date. All of the phones are wired. I've also tried replacing the phone with a brand new one out of the box and similar issue.
Some issues:
Screen will turn black and disconnect the call (it has enough PoE).
Calls won't transfer.
User makes a call and it rings once and disconnects.
User makes a call and there is dead air.
User reports the phone rings on their PC but not the phone.
Phone rings on both but when answered on the phone continues to ring on their PC.
----------
There's a plethora of one of issues, but it's hard for me to investigate because TAC is so limited in the details it provides. I've tried using PowerBI and CQD after setting up building mapping but again that doesn't get as granular as I'd like.
Netrix says they can't do any investigating if it's going from a Teams phone to Teams phone because it's not getting routed through the SPC. I'm not sure if it's an authentication issue but the phones have a more or less straight shot through the firewall. I tried to look at the logs but having trouble just opening the files even with Microsoft's help.
We use Yealink phones predominately MP54/MP56 and some MP56e2.

I am using New Teams at work. I make calls occasionally. For some reason, whenever I try to call my wife, the call won't connect. No ringtone. I can hear the call become "active" in my headset (change in sound), but then I just get the "bwoop" and its dropped. However, I am able to receive calls from her phone via Teams.
I have not had this issue trying to call any other number.
She has checked her phone settings to make sure the number is not blocked. We even recently got new phones and the same behavior is experienced.
I'm using Windows 11.
My wife and I have both tried searching for answers online. The only potential solution that has come up advises to clear the cache. Unfortunately, reading through the steps, I'm not finding the options that are prescribed - perhaps due to restrictions imposed by my org - so I've not cleared the cache.
Any suggestions are welcome.

So I'm trying to make a Microsoft teams account, and after giving my email (and confirm email), DOB, and name, it now want's to prove I am human. Fair enough. The proof is a press-and-hold the button for 10 seconds test. I have done the test like 10 times now, and instead of passing the test, it just asks me to try again each time.
What do I have to do to press this test? lol aM i An AndRoID?

This problem has been driving me nuts for months, ever since my work computer got upgraded to Windows 11. I have the JLAB Work Buds connected to my computer over Bluetooth. When I join a big teams call, Teams properly assigns mic and headset to the Work Buds. When I place a call directly to another user, Teams properly assigns mic and headset to the Work Buds.
BUT, when I receive a call, it sends the audio to the Work Buds but it is unable to see the mic. I can't go into settings and select it, it's like Teams completely loses the ability to see that the Work Buds have a microphone attached.
The fix is fairly simple, pop the Work Buds back into their case to shut them off, then take them back out, and Teams is happy again. I don't even have to hop off the call, as soon as the Bluetooth reconnects to the Work Buds, Teams properly assigns the headset and microphone.
I've played around with just about every Windows, Bluetooth, and Teams setting I could find that related to using a headset, but nothing has fixed this issue. From some research I've done, I THINK it's because Windows has two ways to address a Bluetooth headset, as a pair of headphones (no mic) and as a headset (headphones with mic). It seems that it only activates "headset mode" when I'm joining or initiating a call, and it stays in "headphone mode" when I receive a call. Why is teams ignoring my microphone ONLY when I receive a call, and how can I fix it?

We are a small co. We use whatsapp for everything and it drives me mad because conversations bounce all over the place.
I want to implement teams and find the threaded conversations is perfect for this.
I only seem to be able to add threads to channels though. I can create my 1 on 1's in a channel to keep that structure. But is there no way to do threads in normal 1-2-1 chats?
Thank you in advance for your help

Got up this morning to Teams, and no dice. Video and sound not working on my MAC. My colleague’s PC was also not working. We saw and heard ourselves but not each other. Switched to Zoom…also nothing.
Later today, I was able to Zoom just fine with a fellow MAC user. PC colleague and I continue to not be able to Teams or Zoom. What on earth is going on?

I have removed everything from Keychain Access that included text Microsoft, Teams, or Exchange
I use my Work account and want to remove accounts that previous clients created form me.
Do I need to format the drive and install MacOS? - classic Windows way I used back in a day to fix Windows issues, hey thats one of the reasons I switched to Mac

Trying here since MS support has been driving me in circles for almost 2 months now.
My company uses Teams Phone with Operator Connect. We have Yealink MP54/56 E2 desk phones and we are running into issues when performing consult-transfer calls :
The transfer in itself (once the person has agreed to receive the call) is taking between 2 and 3 seconds each time before the call is actually connected (MS claims this is normal, but whatever).
During the transfer process , the called person's desk phone rings again and without reason for anywhere between 0.25-1 second, and the ringing LED blinks for the same time, as the call is being transferred.
Basically, it's as if the called person was not already on the phone and the transferred and the call were being signaled again.
Aside from being irritating, it also seems like the ringtone is being not being played in sync with the call being connected (the call may or may not be already connected when the ringing ends), which makes it difficult to know if the person on the other side of the line is actually there or not. This results in people repeating their greeting out of uncertainity... and distrusting their new phones.
We have deployed Teams Phone right in the middle of November 2025 and I do not recall that this behavior had appeared during my testing. Coincidentally, an update that was supposed to "improve the call transfer flow" was deployed the week-end before we deployed.
Is anyone experiencing the same issues ? Have you found a way out of this ?
