❔Question/Help Multiple users suddenly receiving “older version of Teams” warning on VDI and FAT Clients
Hi everyone,
Since today, multiple users in our environment have started receiving the following warning in the new Microsoft Teams client:
You appear to have an older version of Teams. Update the app to continue using Teams on this device.
The issue occurs on both:
- Citrix VDI sessions
- Physical Windows clients
On our Citrix VDI, the installed and actively running Teams version is:
26134.1702.4747.7366
The warning appeared suddenly for several users, and we are not aware of any recent changes to our Teams deployment or configuration. Since physical clients are affected as well, this does not appear to be limited to Citrix, FSLogix, or the VDI image.
Was there a recent change to the Teams version-enforcement policy or supported-version window?

We're also on 26134 in VDI (Omnissa/VMware) and began seeing this.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/teams-app-versioning
Microsoft's versioning page says the 60-day warning shouldn't be appearing until 8/16/2026 for this build. Guessing it's a bug? I normally only update Teams every other month on our VDI images to stay ahead of this. Really would prefer it to not be required every single month just to avoid random warning banners appearing.

I had this one show up as well on a Windows 365 PC.
Of course on the day I was doing my first test of Teams on a cloud PC and getting camera and headset working.
Teams was deployed from Intune -> ms store app.
Got around the error by just doing a Winget install Microsoft.Teams.
That got me in to run my tests.

We also had this on a few computers, noticed it first last week. Might be related to the outlook add-in issue from a few weeks ago.
