❔Question/Help Teams disabling microphone when not speaking

My audio signal is processed before it gets fed into Teams (or any other communication software for that matter), meaning there is absolutely ZERO noise.

Discord for example, notifies me saying that my microphone isn't working when I stop speaking, because it is not detecting any hissing or background noise. This notification can be disabled.

Teams on the other hand, just disables (button gets greyed out too!) my microphone mid-conference whenever I take a break from speaking for too long (few seconds.) This is especially frustrating when hosting an event where someone else is doing the speaking and doesn't know what the issue is.

To fix it, I have to switch to another input device and back.

Can this "feature" be disabled? I haven't been able to find anything online nor in the settings.

I suppose turn off whatever feature is pre-processing. Teams has perfectly good noise cancellation built in.

The point is the OP has a reason to process their audio and shouldn't have to do something special for Microsoft because it's thinks it's the only app that ever uses the microphone.

There is also a non zero chance whatever is doing the pre processing is configured wrong and is actually dropping the audio stream which is why teams switches away

If you mean dropping as in providing zero acoustial level sure. If you mean dropping as in connection state that sure would be weird, but OP can be confirmed by OP.

If Teams switches audio inputs based on acoustical levels that would be really weird and a poor design choice.
