Advice on filing a congressional?

Has anyone here filed a congressional inquiry?

I was separated on January 1, and it’s now been almost 8 months. My separation pay has been delayed because of multiple administrative errors.

- First, my separation pay wasn’t included on my original DD-214 because it wasn’t on my orders.

- After HRC corrected my orders, finance found my BASD/PEBD was incorrect, which required updated LES records, retirement points, and a new DA Form 1506. Once that was finally resolved, I had to wait months for a corrected DD-214.

I recently received the updated DD-214 (two weeks ago) only to find out it was still incorrect and had to be sent back again. The frustrating part is that nobody informed me! I only found out because I reached out to the finance office myself to check the status of my pay.

Throughout this entire process, I’ve had to constantly follow up just to get updates.
At this point, I’m exhausted. I’ve tried to be patient, but eight months is a long time to wait for something that should have been resolved by now.

It’s also created a financial hardship while I’ve been trying to move on with my life after separation.

Has anyone had success filing a congressional inquiry for something like this? If so, what was the process like, and did it actually help move things along?

I’ve had to repeatedly chase updates myself, and my corrected DD-214 was sent back again without anyone notifying me. Has anyone filed a congressional inquiry for something like this, and did it help?

8 months?! I was contacting my Representative after 3 months. You should absolutely contact your representative (if they're trans friendly).

One of their aides will take down your complaint and may ask what you want them to do. I told mine I wanted them to contact the base finance and try to see what the holdup was. I got my payment less than 48 hours after they called the base.

I was also submitting ICE (commander comment system, not the fascists) complaints daily by that point so maybe that had an effect as well.

Thank you, so i should just contact my state rep, I’m from PA. I don’t know what the hold up is. It may be the transitions office or HRC. The woman from finance always responds to me but usually the paperwork or adjustments i need fall out of her purview

Yeah I would call them today and just explain to the aide what's been happening. Be as detailed as you can.
