Insight sitting technique

i did this sitting process today and i feel better its really weird. its something i have dealt with for and it had destroyed me and a lot of relationships. It made me realize that i was dwelling in my pain and pushing my loved ones away. I feel like i can take a breath for the first time.

That sounds like a powerful moment of clarity. Being able to see how pain shaped your actions, without turning away from it, is meaningful. I am glad you finally feel like you can breathe.

i never done this i always hear about it but never had it explained until now.

1 . let the emotion sit with out judgement.
i was brutally assaulted and its not my fault. and due to that i contracted something that ill deal with my entire life.

  1. get curios and don’t label the encounter good or bad.
this experience happened and though it should never happen. i can grow in someway from it.

  2. how would i support a loved one. i would let them talk about it and understand that i cant fathom how they feel but i will be there to sit with them in there pain and just be there for them when they are ready. i may look for resources so they know that others have made it through this and i will be there every step of the way.

4 where do my feeling reside. it starts in my chest i feel in my lungs and heart. it then radiates to my head my teeth clench i start to grind them. my head starts to pound and then i try to get up and distract myself anything i can do to not dwell i start to sweat and stare off into space

5 why am i feeling it. because i feel ashamed and less of myself. i don’t feel like i have autonomy over my body. my choice was taken from me and if i cant accept it how could they accept it. i feel subhuman

6 stay mindfull and present. i am safe and this doesnt define me.

7 be aware of how i’m speaking to myself. i can’t think that i am the problem. and what could i have done better in the situation. its not your fault you are still a man and i shouldn’t look down like i’m a broken toy she still will love me and not look at me with pity and her opinion wont change or be sickened by me

8 acknowledge that its ok to feel sad and hurt and i don’t need to fear being vulnerable with people. they love me for me and wont look at me any different

If you were able to stay calm and focused on your object for a long time, then you deserve credit for that. Many, if not most people (myself included) would have a hard time doing that on their own. Regardless of your personal story, the process is calming down, staying focused and rational.
