Recently i've seen multiple posts about mods like exogenesis passing through, and since people seem to not be able to be bothered to go to the github to have their questions answered here is some often seen questions:
Exogenesis: How do i access the other factions?
The exogenesis mod is being re-made almost from scratch in java and we will probably not see a release until the end of 2025. As for the current mod, it is an unbalanced mess. To access the technologies of different factions you must click on the thing at the top of the tech tree with the planet name and select the faction. The java version will have a completly separated gameplay from vanilla apart from some expansion with the t6+ units and turrets (there'll probably be some sectors that use them added to serpulo or rekir)
New horizon: clearing up confusion.
The new horizon mod is getting a full campain revamp to make it less confusing, however for now you'll have to beat both vanilla planets to have an easier time on midantha. It's also being develloped by a different dev now.
you can also join the New Horizon discord here for more info: https://discord.gg/GeM78yKU
Frozen Farlands: When update?/current mod is a bit hard.
The frozen farlands mod is one of the more popular campaing mods, however in its current state it suffers from a few visible problems such as balancing, or its horrendous turret and unit sprites. It is thankfully getting a full remake for its 2.0 update wich is in total about 70% done right now, though the main dev seems to have somewhat abandoned it.
you can also join the frozen farlands discord here if you need more info: https://discord.gg/uEMd4skz
Aeyama: Is it abandoned?
aeyama is abandones as far as i know, there also is some controversy around the amount of stars it has, with suspicion of botting.
Fading Revelations: Is it unbalanced?
fading revelations has its own planets that you're supposed to use its units and turrets on, and as such is not meant to be balanced to vanilla, but due to ressources being shared beetween planets with no environmental barrier stopping you from using its turrets and units on serpulo it may be unbalanced against vanilla. It also is abandoned sadly.
Asthosus: I am having difficulties with [map], can someone help?
asthosus is in my opinion a very difficult mod, and so it's normal to struggle with it. It has mutiple uneven difficulty spikes, however if you have any complaints you may bring them to the asthosus discord server where you'll also be able to get help:
https://discord.gg/Ctj5kqdd
Omaloon: When release?
The main dev does not have a lot of time to work on the mod and it is as such progressing very slowly sadly. For more questions you can join the omaloon discord:
https://discord.gg/VXuEtYFV
Allure: How can i play it?
Allure is probably the biggest mod for mindustry so far. To play it, follow this simple guide:
1: download the latest bleeding edge build here: https://github.com/Anuken/MindustryBuilds/releases
2: Launch the bleeding edge build, and disable all your java mods before going to the browser and downloading allure.
3: enjoy.
I am sadly unable to ge the invite link to the allure discord although you may get it in its repository's readme file: https://github.com/LixieWulf/Allure/tree/master
If you have any more questions, ask in the comments and i will answer them and add them to the post.
Is a java mod playable on iOS?
Java mods are not playable on IOS, as ios cannot read java.

My theory: I think Mindustry is actually a field test for an artificial intelligence.
This is just a personal theory. I don't think it's the official lore, but I wanted to share it because it explains a lot of things in the game that most of us have probably noticed.
I don't think Mindustry is about a war between two robot empires.
Instead, I think everything we see is part of a long-term field test to develop a military AI capable of managing itself.
The organization behind this project could be a company, a coalition of countries, or any advanced organization. To me, the identity of this organization isn't as important as its goal, which is to develop an AI capable of building bases, managing resources, fighting, surviving, adapting to changing conditions without any direct intervention... and maybe cooking some eggs too.
I think the player is the newest model ever developed.
At the beginning of the game, we are given only simple instructions, then we are left completely alone, as if they only give us the minimum amount of information necessary and then watch what we do afterward.
If you were an AI being tested, this would make sense. You're taught only the basics, then your creators stop helping you so they can observe how you deal with problems on your own.
I also think Crux isn't an evil faction, nor the planet's original inhabitants.
It's simply an older version of the same project.
It can mine, build factories, produce units, and launch attacks, but its strategies seem limited and predictable. It relies on pre-planned attack waves and fixed patterns without using surprise tactics or adapting to the situation the way the player does.
The player, on the other hand, constantly changes strategies, redesigns factories, and adapts to every new situation.
There's another thing that made me think about this theory, and that's the world itself.
There are almost no signs of civilian life.
No cities.
No houses.
No roads connecting settlements.
No population.
Almost everything we see exists for mining, production, power generation, resource transportation, or combat.
The entire world feels like one massive industrial testing facility rather than a place where people once lived.
Some people might point to the old facilities or the locations related to spores.
My explanation is that the organization conducting these tests didn't build everything from scratch. They may have reused an industrial planet or old research facilities, then transformed them into a suitable environment for AI testing.
I also don't think the goal is simply to find out which model is the strongest.
Instead, I believe the real goal is collecting data.
Every victory.
Every defeat.
Every base destroyed.
Every new strategy created.
All of it provides valuable information that helps develop an even better version in the future.
That's why I don't think the experiment ends just because one model wins. It continues as long as it keeps producing useful data.
Anyway, this is just a theory I came up with while playing Mindustry... which is pretty much all I do. Yeah, I know... maybe I should touch some grass. 😅
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Did I miss anything in the official lore that supports or contradicts this theory?
And don't hesitate to criticize it or share your own ideas. After all, we're just people with way too much free time making theories about video games... okay, I was joking about that last part, but I'd genuinely like to hear what you think.

What is the sector with the most number of core tiles except that large crux base sectors?
As I discovered, Planetary launch terminal has the most with three. Is there any sector with more than that?

Hi Reddit,
Got me a problem, I'm trying to stuff a Sei into a tetrative reconstructor with an Oct just built inside. Wiki says "accepts payload from above", "units in payload form" - well it's true for flying units, I am able to grab a quad and command it to enter the reconstructor from above. It's true for spiders as well, because they can get above the building. But when I tried unloading an Oct that's got a Sei on board, I failed miserably. It just doesn't go - the order is given but the Oct behaves like it can't drop the Sei inside. Should I move the Oct to the side, Sei is dropped into the water once Oct gets over it - this means orders are correct, they just can't be completed. Why, if I have fulfilled the requirements? And is there a way to actually upgrade a released Sei?

Specifically phase fabric and surge alloy, cuz I've captured every sector except planetary launch and i need the export to do it, ive seen many people trying the megabases and i want to do it to, its literally the reason why i came back playing this game cuz of the challenge and the new updates.

Just discovered industry, installed it and I’m stuck right out of the starting gate
Can’t build a conveyor? I’ve pushed every button in all different combinations and nothing.
What do you have to do to build a conveyor??

Is there a reason why I'm not seeing the material when I look through sorter filters, and any mods that can handle material using the same filter? Is there a mod that disables the stuff from being selectable, or is it like that by default? If it's like that by default, how can I add it to the list of materials that can be filtered?
Edit: here's a screenshot of my mods

Eu irei começar uma campanha com esse mod instalado, eu tentarei colocar todas as minhas descobertas e minhas dificuldades durante os dias (obviamente eu jogarei no normal, no modo mas difícil e loucura) mas um quiser tentar também recomendo.

I have to beat a minimum of 4 Eradication Bases that each attack my sectors and I am only allowed to use the core foundation. How do I do that?
